I couldn't stop listening to the audiobook! The beginning of the story draws the reader in, becoming fully invested in finding out how Sammy got in the situation she finds herself currently in.
I'm not a big love triangle fan, so rest assured, that doesn't last long in the storyline, but you do find yourself attached to certain characters, especially anyone who interacts with her boys.
Noah is the ultimate book boyfriend and if he was real, I'd snag him in a heartbeat and never let go. He has the kindest heart, and truly shows his feelings through actions. I'll be reading this again, just for him!
While this can be read as a stand alone, you'll definitely enjoy it more if you read Accidental Attachment first so you can appreciate Brooke even more. I adored this story and it was the perfect mix of comedy and romance, with a superb narration.
Noah is the attractive stable partner that hot mess single mom Sammy needs and these two generate a lot of chemistry. I listened to the audiobook, narrated by Elizabeth Louise and Sebastian York, and they did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life, especially the kids. I loved how their story tied in to previous books and Sammy's sister Brooke, from Accidental Attachment, brings a lot of humor and funny moments. There is an interesting twist to this romance that I actually forgot about till the story circled back to it and fortunately it didn't interfere with the HEA I was hoping for.
I absolutely loved this romantic comedy by Max Monroe. The characters are so relatable, I found myself cheering for Sammy to get out of her own way before the love of her life slips away. While some of these characters appear in another book this story is easily a stand alone story sure to make you smile while keeping you engaged. The narration is fabulous! I look forward to more books by Max Monroe. Thank you Met Gallery for the ARC copy. Publication date January 13, 2024.
Even though this is a standalone, I’m glad I read Accidental Attachment, Brooke and Chase play a big part in Sammy and Noah’s story. Love Sammy’s boys. They have no filter, had me laughing at some of the things they said. I listened to the audio provided by Netgalley and Sebastian York and Elizabeth Louise do a wonderful job narrating these character.
Thank you to NetGalley and Max Monroe for the audiobook version of this book. I am in no way compensated or paid for my review in any way. Everything I write is of my own personal opinion- thoughts- and feelings.
This was a great read! It is about a divorced single mother who at the start of the book has two potential love interests. She ends up finding out one of the men is married with children but thats ok becasue she has fallen for the doctor. theres many twists and fun turns. read it to find out more
After her divorce Sammy’s life is overfull between her two sons, her career and the fact that their father is not involved in their lives. She isn’t sure why anyone would want to date her let alone to have two men vying for her attention one of whom is an anesthesiologist and the other a suave businessman.
When she makes her choice circumstances unfold that will have her questioning that decision, but she soon realizes that the truth between fact and fiction is a thin line, and the heart always knows.
The characters will draw you in and the banter between them was entertaining. Sammy wasn’t certain she was ready for a relationship, but he was willing to let her set the pace and show her that he wasn’t only the perfect man for her but for her sons as well. I enjoyed the performance of the narrators as they brought out the humor of the story and made the characters relatable.
This is the first book I've read/listened to by Max Monroe. I went looking for more information on the author and found a duo of romance writing partners. That surprised me. They make a great team. Honestly, I chose this because Sebastian York was narrating. He did not disappoint!
The biggest negative was the two boys drove me crazy. I think their behavior jadded my enjoyment at the beginning of this read. I didn't see much humor there...well, besides the legos. Ugh! But by part two, I was fully invested even while seeing the direction the story would take. I loved Noah. I wonder if I'd have been more invested in the rest of the characters from the beginning if I had read/listened to the previous book/s? I plan to look into it! There was a drama twist towards the end that surprised me and I hope there is a book coming to continue that storyline. I went from 3.5 stars to solid four stars because I was smiling at the end of the audiobook and I want more.
Sebastian York and Elizabeth Louise are excellent narrators. Sebastian York is a favorite narrator of mine! I LOVE his voice and performances. He is a top notch voice actor! This was the first time I've heard Elizabeth Louise. Her voice was perfect for these characters. I definitely wouldn't mind listening to another book narrated by her. Their performances were perfection!
Thank you NetGalley and Max Monroe for this ALC of the audiobook. This is my voluntary and honest review.
I know it’s going to be good when I’m already smiling during the authors note! Also, I am the demographic for this book, the demographic is me. I have never connected more to a female character than I have with Sammy. Busy, 40-something boy mom furiously trying to balance being a mom, a good friend, an excellent employee, and finding something just for her (in this case, a love interest). A specific reference to a 90s baseball-themed movie made me cackle, which further solidifies my theory that I’m definitely this book’s target. This is one of those rom-coms that just leaves you feeling good. Definitely recommend !!
Absolutely adored every single second of this audio! I laughed, I yelled at my phone, I teared up, and felt pure joy throughout. Loved how much we got to combine Brooke, Benji and chase from Accidental Attachment back into this story, and finally getting Sammy’s!
The narrators were great, and Max Monroe wrote such a fun story with a few shock factors.
Thank you NetGalley and Max Monroe for my ALC in exchange for my honest feedback! This was a treat!
This book was not what I was expecting but loved it just the same. I was so happy to read Sammy and Noah's story and hope that others love this story just as much.
Sammy, a divorced mother of 2 young boys is restarting her life in NYC and managing a successful restaurant while just trying to make it through the day. Her sister Brooke has been busy trying to set her up with her friend Noah but Brooke is not sure she is ready to start dating but she ends up going on a few dates with one the frequent customers of the restaurant but finds herself gravitating to Noah.
Noah, a successful doctor is interested in Sammy but is unsure if the interest is reciprocated. He has some chance encounters where he is a white knight for Sammy and her kids but there were some misconceptions on Sammy's part about Noah's personal life that can be chalked up to bad timing and jumping to conclusions.
So the pair give into giving a relationship a try but more misconceptions occur as well as some jarring events. Will this pair get their HEA? One will have to read their story and find out.
Now on to opinions and observations. This book felt a little like coming home since Noah works at St Luke's which also is the setting of The Doctor Is In series and I thought that there would be more cameos from the characters from that series. Also, I thought that with Noah's last name that he was somehow related to Cassie and we would get a Cassie and Thatch appearance but it's okay that his last name is just a coincidence. So both Noah and Sammy were both well written and relatable. I loved the antics of Sammy's kids as they were mortifying at the time they occurred to Sammy they were LOL funny and anyone with kids can relate to what she goes through. I also had to worry about where I was enjoying this book due to the strange looks that I was getting due to my laughing through this book.
At the risk of ruining this book I will just say that this was a great read that I enjoyed from start to finish while recommending to others.
- Single mom
- Love triangle vibes
- He falls first
- MCs in their 40s
- No breakup
- NYC setting
- Dual POV
- Narrated by Elizabeth Louise and Sebastian York
I love Max Monroe's books on audio. I’ve been fortunate to listen to this entire series early and have had a fun time with each book.
This installment follows Sammy, Brooke from Accidental Attachment's sister. The book begins with Sammy being in an accident alongside her boyfriend. She wakes up to find a pregnant woman sitting by his bed.
Then it flashes back to a month earlier, where we meet her two potential love interests. I have to admit, I didn’t hate the love triangle vibes as it was entertaining — I may have changed teams more than once as we saw both men interact with Sammy and her two boys.
And what handfuls those boys were! My friend is a boy mum, and I feel like Max Monroe perfectly captured the cuteness and chaos! Elizabeth Louise’s voice for them helped with the cuteness.
Part I is exclusively in Sammy’s POV before we hear from a certain suitor in Part II, which made things even more interesting! The dynamic, storyline, witty dialogue and plot twists made this such a fast-paced listen. I’d highly recommend this series if you’re searching for your next rom-com binge.
Thank you so much to Max Monroe for the early audio copy!

Cluelessly Yours by Max Monroe
One Hot Mama, Two Dudes and Two Tiny Terrors: The Hilarious Love Triangle of Cluelessly Yours!
Sammy is an overwhelmed, HOT MESS trying to make her way from being a stay-at-home mom to a forty-one-year-old single mom with two young boys. Her current life, filled with schedules, a new job, and trying to take care of her overactive and impulsive boys isn’t exactly conducive to dating. But ready or not, there are two men that want to put her in the “middle of a two-man sandwich”, although not at the same time! Oh, a love triangle! “The problem is, these days, in the world of Sammy Baker, pretty much all guys finish last.”
💜Gavin, a mid-forties and incredibly successful businessman, continues to remain interested in and her even after their disastrous dates. He wants to show her the fun she’s missing in her life, no commitments!
💜Noah, a too good to be true pediatric anesthesiologist, gets along so well with her boys and is always there when she needs him. Unfortunately, every other woman seems to want him too!
Max Monroe writes a fantastic blend of heat and hilarity in a rom-com with characters in their forties trying to find the “one” that fits their life. Sammy’s comedic mishaps, her boys’ antics and the simmering tension between her and her MMC makes this book one of their best yet! The pacing is quick and engaging with a few plot twists that will keep you turning the pages until the very end.
And finally, the voices of the narrators, Elizabeth Louise and Sebastian York, brought the story to life!
I loved the cameos of Dr. Cummings. Melody and Dr. Shepherd from their Dr. is In series. Also, the “Friends” references in the book hit home with this reviewer! How can you not love a book with a dog named Chanandler Bong!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Another fabulous book from Max Monroe! I love the way these books are written. I laugh, I cry, and I fall in love with the characters! Sebastian York was amazing as usual! He made be fall in love with Noah even more! Elizabeth Louise was so personable, and I love how much personality she gave Sammy! Sammy and Noah were amazing as a couple, and I loved how relatable the mom life of Sammy was. Brooke making another appearance, and I laughed at almost every scene she was in! This is definitely one I’ll recommend over and over!
This is my very first Max Monroe book, and it was a fantastic introduction to their stories.
Sammy's character has the best sarcastic sense of humour and is super relatable. She is the everyday woman just trying to survive and keep her kids alive. A divorcee whose ex-husband is not in the picture. A warrior single mom taking motherhood by storm with two busy boys trying to figure out why their dad doesn't want to be in their lives anymore. A woman who gives for everyone else but never takes anything for herself. And a woman who just doesn't have time for a man... let alone the two that are pursuing her.
Noah is the dreamboat of all book boyfriends. He adores her kids from the get go, is a dog dad who is committed to allowing his dog to see his doggie girlfriend at least once per week, and is a pediatric anesthesiologist who ensures her boys have the best care possible when there's an accident on the playground.
I would have loved to see a little bit more of the relationship building between Sammy and Noah before the L-bomb is dropped, but some of that time is lost while Sammy is working out for herself which guy she actually wants.
This was a light hearted, funny romcom that will have you snickering and swooning - and also cursing all the shitty men out there.
Elizabeth Louise perfectly personified the exasperating chaos of single motherhood that was Sammy's character through her narration. She never missed a beat, made the story so believable and the characters truly come to life.
Sebastian York has been my favourite male narrator since the beginning of my audiobook journey two years ago. The man is perfection and can do no wrong. I have no notes, other than I wish we got to hear more of him earlier on since his narration doesn't begin until Part 2 - Chapter 16.
I really struggled to get into this book. It was written perfectly fine, but it felt juvenile in the way the humor was written. The protagonist felt immature and was frustrating to listen to.
I received an advance copy from netGalley in exchange for this review.
I got this book from Netgalley and I’ll be honest this book started very good but then has some issues.
The female MC is supposed to be older and I found her very immature.
I just couldn’t enjoy this one as much as some of his others!
This is such an easy listen! The narrators were so great and the audiobook was hilarious.
Sammy was so dedicated to her kids! Noah is such a swoon-worthy character! Sammy and Noah had such intense chemistry. I loved how amazing Noah was with her kids! He truly cared for her and definitely showed that he was the one for her.
I didn’t read the previous book in this series but this was very easy to follow. The plot twists were good. It was just such an enjoyable read!
Thank you to NetGalley and Max Monroe for this ALC.
Loved this book. Sammy and Noah were great. I loved that Noah knew what he wanted and decided with a fierceness to go for it. I also loved him with Sammy's children. Brooke was a great support for their relationship. This book was amazing. The narrators were great and performed this story with ease.
This was an amazing audio with dual narration by Sebastian York and Elizabeth Louise.
Sammy is a single mm with two rambunctious boys, a full time job and no real time for datig. HEr sister, Brooke, is a romance author who loves love and is always trying to set her up - specifically with Noah.
Finally some sparks fly with Sammy and Noah, but an unexpected guest at Noah's apartment leads Sammy to run. Noah follows her and they but end up hit by a car and hospitalized, and this whole situation could throw a wrench to any chance of them salvaging their romance.
I loved that the characters are a bit older (late thirties/early forties), the sister bond between Sammy and Brooke, the realistic portrayal of a single mom, and the romance. Gavin - Sammy's other loves interest, was a creeper I could have done without!
Overall a great romance!
Many thanks to NetGalley, Max Monroe and Rick Hambright for an ALC in exchange for my honest review.
