Ruby Rising is the fourth novel in the Eddie Holland detective series, and it does not disappoint. The book starts with a shocking discovery: a man is found dead in West Texas, covered with burns, bruises, and swastika tattoos. There is no one to claim his body and no clues to what happened to him, until FBI Special Agent Gus McAllister arrives on the scene. He recognizes the victim as Ruby, a former neo-Nazi who turned informant and helped him bring down a white supremacist group. But who killed Ruby, and why?

The investigation leads Gus and Eddie, a private investigator and Ruby's friend, to a web of secrets, lies, and betrayal. They uncover a conspiracy that involves a rogue CIA agent, a Russian mobster, and a mysterious woman who may hold the key to everything. As they race against time to stop a nuclear threat, they also have to face their own demons and doubts. Can they trust each other, and themselves, enough to survive?

Ruby Rising is a fast-paced, action-packed thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The author, John H. Matthews, skillfully blends realistic characters, witty dialogue, and gripping plot twists. He also explores the themes of redemption, loyalty, and identity, and how they are challenged by the dark forces of the world. If you are a fan of suspense, mystery, and adventure, you will love Ruby Rising.
