SWIFT AND SADDLED - LYLA SAGE

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️🌶️

Saddle up for this ARC review of this glorious book!

I didn’t think anything could top done and dusted but wow @authorlylasage has NAILED it once again!

This book follows Wes & Ada. Wes is a country boy who is a people pleaser and definitely has golden retriever energy and Ada is a city girl.

I was giggling the whole way through this book and I think i’m obsessed with Weston Ryder. It’s hard to deny the instant connection these two had from the very start of the book.

THIS IS A MUST READ FOR EVERYONE!

🤠 SMALL TOWN
🤠 DUAL POV
🤠 FORCED PROXIMITY

“That’s it, sweetheart, take what you need” 🫠

A huge thank you to Netgalley and Quercus for access to this ARC.

Thank you Net Galley, Hachette ANZ and Lyla Sage for the digital ARC copy of Swift and Saddled in exchange for my honest review.

Rating: 4 ⭐️ 2 🌶️

Swift and Saddled was a fast paced, small town cowboy romance that I devoured!! I loved that this book started off with a little spice, hooked me straight in 🤭

As with Done and Dusted — I love that Swift and Saddled also had great mental health representation! I also really felt like I could relate to the MFC so much!!

Wes was amazing as the MMC and I really enjoyed seeing so many familiar side characters throughout the book that I had come to love in Done and Dusted.

Overall, a fantastic read that I will definitely be recommending!

Loved done and dusted and loved this too!

- Cowboy romance
- City girl x country boy
- Dual POV

Loved the open discussions on mental health and Wes and Ada.

Excited for the next book and I think I’m a cowboy romance girly now

Thank you NetGalley & the publisher for the ARC!

Lyla Sage KNOWS how to write a cute and spicy cowboy romance! I adored Wes and Ada.

I loved how they each were struggling with their internal battles- Wes with depression and Ada with her deep insecurities and trust issues. It felt real to me. I think Sage handles the topics well. Especially with how it isn't "over dramatised" it just is what they happen to be going through. Which is what many of us experience as well.

The romance in this book was next. level. Wes was a walking talking green flag of a man. He is so sweet and patient with Ada. An actual sweetheart. Obsessed. Where do I find one?

The only issue I had was how it was more of an instant attraction when I am more of a slow-burn type of person. HOWEVER, I 100% loved this book anyway and I am beyond excited for the next book!

Cannot wait to read about Teddy and Gus!

I just want to preface; I might have done a mini-scream when I got accepted for this arc, I read the first in the series (Done & Dusted) simply because the cover was pretty and ended up loved it, "Swift and Saddled" wasn't any different.
I had the time of my life with this book, we follow Ada, interior designer, who comes to help Wes with his project on his families ranch, and they maybe might fall in love. I'll admit the first meeting was a little insta-love-ish for my liking, but the re-meet at the ranch and the build up resolved any concerns I had.
Onto the characters:
Wes was such a little cutie oml, the way he just adored Ada made me want to jump on a plane to the US and fall in love in a small town, he was so kind an patient with everyone, a true golden retriever. As for Ada, I related to her hardcore, me and my grumpy-shy-ass lovedddd her. Being nervous around new people, the need for a sense of belonging, it was so great to see these feelings reflected on the page. She was also so cool ohmygod, the tattoos?? 😍😍
Oh and I loveeee that we got Wes's Spanakopita recipe at the end, such a cute addition and if I didn't fear poisoning people with how bad my cooking skills are I would try it haha. The cross-overs from the first book were awesome, great to see Emmy and Luke thriving! As well as some hints at possible future books 😏😏.
Overall it was an amazing read, SOOOOOO excited for the next books !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the free copy provided in exchange for an honest review!

Oh my goodness, Ada and Wes!!

Swift and Saddled is the second in the Rebel Blue Ranch series, and it was fantastic. Done and Dusted was good, but Swift and Saddled was excellent. The characters had instant chemistry, and then the slow burn, boss/client relationship was spot on.

I loved the positive message about following your dreams, Ada was an absolute boss with her business!

The pace of the story is spot on, and the small town family vibes are super cute. I love how supportive the Ryder family all are, and how accepting. The found family trope is just gorgeous in this book.

I really enjoyed this one, the spice was a good amount, and overall the book was very sweet.

Big thank you to the publisher and to Netgalley for the eARC.

"In that moment, I felt like a teenager with a crush. An intense and unescapable crush.
Except crushes aren't quite as fun if they're on your boss."

Thank you Lyla & Hatchette Aus/NetGalley for the ARC! I loved done and dusted, I couldn't wait to get back to Meadowlark!

One thing about me is I'm a sucker for a cowboy romance so naturally I loved this. This book is such a cute read but also I appreciated that it touched on mental health and overcoming a toxic relationship.

Ada is literally one of the coolest characters ever. I'm not going to lie at first I wasn't sure if I would like her because she didn't come across as a "girls girl" - but then you see her growth and I was like wow I want to be Ada 👏

And Wes... 🥵 that's really all that needs to be said. He is perfection. And together they are just magical.

I'll never stop thinking about how much can happen during the time it takes to make popcorn and the mirror scene. 🌶️

This book gives a little spice, romance, and is just overall a really good read!

I also loved that we got to see what was next for Emmy and Luke 🤭

I do wish we had a bit more background on Wes' struggles with depression. However, I do appreciate that books are now bringing attention to mental health and that it can affect anyone.

Loved this and can't wait to see what happens next in Meadowlark!

Tropes:
- mental health rep
- found family
- cowboy/small town romance
- black cat x golden retriever energy

This was an absolutely amazing book. Wes and Ada were a couple that I was rooting for from the beginning. I feel like Ada had such great character development, starting off very closed off and resistant to Wes. Wes was able to slowly break down her walls, make her feel safe and get to know the real Ada.

The found family in this book is phenomenal- I want to be a part of the Ryder Family!!!!

I loved these characters. Ada was amazing and I related to her in many ways.

4 stars from me! I still love Done and Dusted better. I think the spice was better in that book. Aaaaand I loved Emmy and Luke (especially Luke) ahhh!!

This book... This Book .... THIS BOOK

Yes read it

Wes is the male main character we all need in our lives. He is thoughtful caring and patient.

Lyla sage has done it again with this beautiful 2nd book in the rebel blue ranch series. It has the most wholesome hometown vibes that I love to just curl up and read.

This book is funny, loving and passionate.

Can't wait for book 3 😁

So I’m not going to lie, I was a little disappointed when I found out this book wasn’t going to be about Gus and Theo. It’s not that I didn’t like Wes, but such a good job had been done setting up Gus’s story I was super excited. To be honest, I wasn’t even sure I was going to read this.

But then I was lucky enough to get an ARC, and I started and there was a line, said by the FMC which goes ‘as far as friend’s went; I didn’t really have any - not because I didn’t want them; but because making friends as an adult is hard’, and my lord, did I feel seen. The mental health, struggles of being an introvert are so well represented in this book and I wasn’t expecting it after the first’s storyline, and I was pleasantly surprised and engrossed to see where it went. Whilst I felt the romance to be a bit instalusty and not really based off anything but physical attraction, as the characters developed so did the relationship, in a way that had me fully backing the two.

Now Ms. Sage, I see you over there introducing another attractive cowboy to the crew for us to fall in love with, but the please give Gus his time in the spotlight. You can’t make all these brilliant characters so lovable without me wanting to devour them all now!

I recieved a copy of this ARC, but all opinions are unbias and my own :)

As soon as I read that Wes had green eyes and dimples (and a cute dog!) I was done for!

Again, Lyla sage has written a swoon worthy page turner! Did I read this in one sitting because I was so invested? Yes ma’am! 😅

I cannot wait for this series to be completed as I have a suspicion about who the next book is about 🫣 AND I AM HERE FOR IT 😍😍
