I always enjoy Catherine's books, but this book I LOVED! I think it was a combination of the characters, witty banter, and finding love despite the circumstances. And the ending? Way to leave me hanging, Catherine! I now cannot wait to read the next book or two.
I loved Piper's character. She may have had a rough start at the beginning of the book due to circumstances beyond her control, but she knows how to get things done, and she is exactly what Chase and Alex need as an assistant in the company. It isn't their fault that their father was your typical womanizer. I never understood why men with money seem to think they have their own set of rules.
Chase is hit hard by Cupid when it comes to Piper. He doesn't realize it at first until a conversation with his friend Jack puts it all into perspective. Chase and Piper have a mutual attraction that they fight, but I am glad they don't resist for too long.
Not all of the characters are nice. There is the widow, Melissa, who is your typical gold digger and doesn't like the will's contents. There are some board members of the company that Chase and Alex take over that have suspicious agendas. There is even the lawyer who has me perplexed. Is he trying to find the elusive half-brother? What is his agenda? Only future books will give us that answer.
As I originally stated, I LOVED this book and was very sad when it ended. But it just leaves me wanting to read more, and I can't wait to find out who is next in the series. Is it Alex finding her love match, or is it the half-brother?
Pick up and read this book; you won't be disappointed. We give it 5 paws up.
Chase Stone’s, estranged father, died, he was shocked at the reading of the will, that he, his sister, Alex, and a brother they knew nothing about inherited the estate. He and Alex knew nothing about the business, or that they had a half brother somewhere., but they had to find him in order to inherit the estate.
Chase pulled back the curtain on his father and his father's life. The first thing they did was hire back their father's assistant, Piper, who got fired three weeks ago. When Chase called her, she hung up on him, but he found where she lived, and went to see her. He showed her, the HR file and what his father wrote to get her fired. He knew it was lies, and convinced her to come back and help him and Alex.
The race is on, to learn the business, find the half brother, and learn a secret. It was exciting to read all that was taking place, the extravagance of all his father had acquired, and how this led to something wonderful for Chase.
I received an ARC from Montlake through NetGalley.
I absolutely loved this story! It’s Catherine Bybee at her best! Strong women characters with an inner core of strength and good values, men who are chivalrous, sexy and just the right amount of alpha, yum!
Pregnant from a one-night-stand, Piper was fired from her job and wondering how she would pay her rent. Chase and Alexandrea Stone’s father died, they were estranged for many years so there was no sadness there, but to their surprise, they inherited his whole estate, together with an unknown brother. They have one year to find the missing brother or they will lose everything. Such an interesting premise for a story!
When Chase and Alex arrive at their father’s company headquarters, they know they’re in over their heads and need help soon. When they learn that the assistant was fired under suspicious circumstances, they hire her back and hit the mother lode. She knows a lot about their father’s business, schedule, sleazy habits, etc. She’s invaluable as a help in finding out stuff they need to manage the company. She’s also beautiful, intelligent, and sassy so she sparks Chase’s interest. He loves that she says what she feels and takes no crap from him, gives it back just as snarky.
The love story is fantastic, the missing brother mystery is riveting, and the inheritance and boardroom shenanigans super interesting. The pace was great, the characters wonderful, the sexy times sublime. It’s a page turner that left me enthralled and desperate for the next installment. Superb!
4.5 Stars. This contemporary romance is an office romance. Chase and his sister have inherited a large business from a father who had nothing to do with them while he was alive. They have a lot to deal with, and one of the first things they have to do is rehire the assistant their father fired shortly before his death. Piper is a force to be reckoned with. I loved her spunk, even with the trying circumstances she's dealing with. They bring her in to try to help them find a half-brother whom they didn't know existed.
I usually don't like billionaire romances, but Chase and his sister did not grow up with that kind of money. They were as overwhelmed as the wealth as your average middle class person. They were more likable because of that. Piper was a wonderful character, and I was on her side through the whole book.
The romance between Chace and Piper is sweet and hot all at the same time. The mystery surrounding the half-brother adds to the story. The ending leaves you ready for the next book!
Thanks to Montlake and NetGalley for the ebook. All thoughts are my own.
4.5/5 stars
All Our Tomorrows is the first book in a new billionaire series called The Heirs.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun quick read.
The book alternates between the male and female POVs.
The male narrator is Chase. His extremely wealthy father Aaron Stone has just died. I really liked Chase and loved his relationship with his sister Alex. He was such a kind hero. I hope that we get to see a lot more of him in the next book.
The female narrator is Piper who had worked at Stone Enterprises as Aaron Stone's executive secretary. She is such a capable heroine. And her dog Kitty was such a fun pet. I really liked seeing her deal with her personal issues. And it was very interesting to see how she handled her job and her private life.
This book was not exactly what I was expecting. Usually I would expect a billionaire romance to be super sexy. And while there is definitely a bit of spice, the romance did not dominate the first half of the book. But I still thought that the first half was so interesting. There is a bit of a mystery, which I absolutely loved.
The book left off without giving me all of the answers that I wanted. It definitely leaves the reader wanting more. And I can't wait to see what happens in the next book.
*Two minor characters (Jack & Jessie) are from the author's 2012 book Not Quite Dating
I couldn’t wait to dive into Catherine Bybee’s new series and if Piper Maddox and Chase Stone’s story is anything to go by she will certainly have a hit series with The Heirs. I was captivated from the first page to the last line and if you love romance mixed with suspense look no further than this gem of a read.
Who would have thought losing your estranged father could bring so much turmoil but when Chase and his sister Alex’s father dies it sets in motion a chain of events neither saw coming. When they are advised they need to take over the company Chase turns to Piper who was his father’s assistant until she was fired for help. Chase and Alex with some help from Piper uncover secrets that have been kept for years but will that be enough to turn the company around…..
All Our Tomorrows (The Heirs #1) has the perfect mix of passion, suspense and angst, it has characters that are easy to relate to as well as a fair few twists and turns you don’t see coming. I’m now excited for what’s to come in the
I absolutely adore Catherine Bybee and she never seems to disappoint.
All Our Tomorrows by Catherine Bybee was such an enjoyable story and I can’t wait to read book one.
Thank You NetGalley and Montlake for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!
This was the first book I’ve read by this author, but it definitely won’t be the last! I was hooked from the first chapter, and didn’t want to put it down. I loved the family mystery, the romance….just everything!
Chase Stone and his sister Alex have been estranged from their father since they were young, so they never expected anything after his death. They never expected to become millionaires overnight and forced to run their father's company. How are they supposed to run this huge corporation? Enter Piper, former assistant to the CEO, fired for refusing his advances. Chase has some convincing to do to bring her back, but she proves herself to be extremely competent and trustworthy. He's attracted to her but doesn't want to become like his father... until she admits to her own feelings for him. But she has reasons of her own for staying away...
I loved the banter between the main characters in this story. I loved Piper's character because she was absolutely brilliant in business while juggling her own issues. Alex is also an awesome character and I can't wait to read her story.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I looooooved this book! Epic start to the series! Chase and Alex have inherited their father’s company, but with no training. Thankfully they have the skills from their current roles to apply to the one they are thrown into. I enjoyed the dynamics between the siblings and learning more about their family. Piper tells it like it is and is knowledgeable and competent. She is an asset to the siblings. And we can’t help who we are attracted to! I enjoyed the chemistry between Piper and Chase. I can’t recommend this book enough! Grab your copy today!
At their father's funeral, Chase and Alex Stone are bewildered by all the accolades their late father is being bestowed. He was not a nice man or a good father. They feel like the people in attendance didn't know the man they knew. Perhaps Chase and Alex didn't know him well either since he is leaving his business and most everything to his children. ALL of his children. In death, they'll become much more familiar with their fathers secrets!
What follows is a love story...for Chase and his father's recently fired executive assistant, Piper. Piper knows EVERYTHING about running the company and many of the 'secrets' her old boss kept from everyone...except one.
Chase needs Piper and due to a secret that Piper is harboring, Piper needs her old job! As we run down the road with this story, there seem to be secrets around every turn. When the BIG secret is revealed, Chase, Piper, and Alex wonder if the company will survive!
Fabulous first story in The Heirs series by Ms. Bybee. I can't wait to see how this bombshell reveal is resolved!
All Our Tomorrows by Catherine Bybee is the first novel in the Heirs contemporary romance series. I loved getting Chase Stone and Piper Maddox’s messy, heartwarming, romantic story and I look forward to the next siblings story.
Honestly, I am not a big fan of billionaire stories, but siblings Chase and Alex Stone grew up away from their estranged billionaire father. Each made their own mark on the world before their father died and left his empire to them and a half-sibling they didn’t know they had. The two of them will need to learn their father’s business and secretly find their brother before the board discovers their shares are split three-ways.
I loved the premise and the Stone family from the beginning, and was delighted to meet Piper Maddox and her protective dog. Piper was their father’s assistant before he fired her prior to his death. She knows the ins and outs of the business, contacts and schedule. That is why Chase is determined to rehire her. The chemistry was there from the start, but I loved the back-and-forth banter while they negotiated terms.
I loved Piper and her no sass attitude. Chase is charmed by the woman, but doesn’t want to cross boundaries, making the buildup to that first kiss delightful. Sizzling chemistry, almost kisses and saltine crackers, had me all in.
We meet secondary characters like Alex Stone, and her bestie, along with hotel billionaires who are down to earth, all about family and offer to lend a helpful hand. Meanwhile, we have the mystery of their half brother and Piper’s secret dilemma. I found myself fully invested and hoping for a happily ever after.
All Our Tomorrows was an addictive read filled with spice, heart and a swoon-worthy romance. I highly recommend taking this one along on vacation. I am looking forward to the Forgotten One, the next book in the Heirs series, releasing November 2024.
Perfect start to a new series
I love this book and am thrilled to start a new Catherine Bybee series! Thanks to their estranged father’s will Chase Stone and his sister, Alex, have become billionaires overnight. They both understand big business, but not only do they have to become acclimated to running their father’s company, they must find a half-brother they knew nothing about until their father’s will. Running the company depends on it. Piper Maddox was the assistant to Mr. Stone but was fired two weeks before he passed. Chase needs her and her straight talk to help him and Alex familiarize themselves with who the players are and who they can trust in Stone Enterprises.
I loved the way Piper talked to Chase. She wasn’t afraid to say what had to be said. She’s honest, direct, sassy, and beautiful. Chase fell immediately. The sparks the two ignited melted my Kindle and the warmth and kindness they showed each other, and their family was delightful. I loved Alex and her best friend Nick (he’s a hoot). I was so invested in the story and the characters; this book went super-fast. I was thrilled to see a familiar (and favorite) character of mine cross over into this world. I hope we get to see more of James and Jessie! It made me want to reach into Ms. Bybee’s backlist and re-read their book. While the story arc of Chase and Piper was resolved, some questions still need to be answered, and I look forward to reading Alex’s and Max’s books to resolve all the Stone Enterprises complications. I’ll say it again, I loved this book!
4.5⭐
OMG!! This was such a delightful introduction to this new series. As Chase and Alex (Alexandra) become billionaires and co-owners of a multi-million dollar hotel business overnight. When their estranged dad Aaron dies and unexpectedly leaves almost everything to them.
But that is not the only bombshell they are left with. As they learn through his will that they have a half brother who has also inherited a share of the business and monies.
Yet, before Chase and Alex can act and find their half brother they have to take over the business. Which is easier said than done. Especially when Chase learns his dad sacked his PA Piper just before he died. Only the reasons behind her dismissal don't add up, so Chase seeks her out with the hope of luring her back.
What he doesn't expect is the attraction, or the sass or the fact she had the measure of his dad and is the only one in the company not pretending his dad wasn't a womanising d**k.
But Piper has her own troubles including a positive pregnancy test. So the last thing she needs is to rock the boat or risk her job. Especially as she has no idea if she's even going to keep the baby.
However, the more time she spends with Chase the closer they get, and even her pregnancy doesn't scare him off.
And with such an engaging and entertaining storyline, likable characters and a little sweetness and heat. All Our Tomorrows was a brilliant read. That perfectly highlights how wonderful and messy life really is
I would happily recommend this story to all.
My thanks to Montlake and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an early copy of All Our Tomorrows.😊
My first impression of this book is that it's pretty interesting. I planned to just read the first 2 chapters, but I ended up reading way more than that, haha. The plot's just right, with plenty of surprises, and I'm totally into it! This deserves a 5-star rating. Plus, this line from the book is my favorite; it really touches my heart: "If the day ever comes where you need to mourn his loss, even if it’s twenty years from now, I’ll hold you," Piper said.
this is the story of an estranged Father who unexpectedly leaves his fortune to his children, including a brother they didn’t know they had. A vengeful widow and board members of the company who might be scheming behind their backs. Most of the characters are relatable but there are a few I wouldn’t trust. I liked the story, the slow burning romance between Chase and Piper. Her dog Kitty was fun, hard to trust people and very protective of Piper. I look forward to reading more about this family in future books. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.
I absolutely loved. This first installment of The Heirs series by Catherine Bybee, an auto buy for me every time!
Estranged from their father, Chase and his sister Alex are surprised to learn that they’ve inherited his hotel empire after his sudden passing. The catch? There’s a third sibling that they had no idea existed, and they have to track him down before the board tries to make a move on the ownership of the company.
Desperately needing help to dig into his father’s business and personal accounts, Chase reaches out to his father’s recently terminated (without cause) executive assistant Piper. As Alex digs in to the operations of the company, Chase and Piper tackle the home accounts, spending long days at his fathers residence digging through the personal accounts and any clue as to where the third Stone sibling might be.
But as Chase and Piper dig into the records, it becomes harder for either of them to deny the immediate pull they felt towards each other. The witty banter is fun and often steamy, and the two are the perfect match. With undeniable chemistry, compassion and a lot of fun, All Our Tomorrows bring everything you could possibly want in a romance.
This begins a new series by Bybee about the children of a multi-millionaire who have unexpectedly inherited his fortune and shares in his hotel company. The only catch is that the brother and sister, Chase and Alex, have to find their odious father’s illegitimate son about whom no one knew anything. And they don’t know much about his business since they’d been estranged from him almost their entire lives.
Fortunately, they can rely on the help of their father’s former assistant, Piper, who seems to know how to do everything they need to do as they hunt for clues to find the long-lost brother. And then there are intrigues from the evil stepmother and opponents on the board of their company.
So there’s a lot going on. The only plot points that get resolved in this book are the romance between Chase and Piper and the hunt for the brother. But it ends with a cliffhanger to prepare us for the next book in the series.
Chase, Piper, and Alex are likable characters and they get help from some characters from another Bybee book. If you like reading about newly minted millionaires dealing with their money while falling in love, you’ll enjoy this book. If you’ve read Bybee’s previous books, you know what you’re getting.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.
All Our Tomorrows is the first book in Catherine Bybee's new The Heirs series and I am here for it!
Chase Stone and his sister Alex have never been close to their father. To say he's been an absent father is an understatement. When he passes away and the will is read, leaving everything to the two of them, along with a secret brother that no one knows about, to say they are stunned is another jaw-dropping moment. In order to move forward, they have to find the brother they never knew about. First thing's first, and Chase rehires his father's former assistant, Piper, who was fired just prior to his death, to help him navigate the business and all that lies ahead.
Chase and Piper not only work well together at the office, but they also have amazing chemistry outside of it. Chase is just a good man. He's caring, considerate and she is smart, hard-working and strong. Not only does Piper get along great with Chase, but she also gets along well with Alex. Chase also has a fantastic relationship with his sister and it only makes them stronger as they run the company they were left.
I was not expecting the bit of intrigue that we were given in this book, but I enjoyed it and I am already looking forward to the next book! It can't come soon enough for me! Bybee has a way of writing in a way that balances the drama, reality and romance just perfectly!
**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher**
I loved this story so much. From beginning to end it was perfection. All Our Tomorrows is the first story in a brand new series and I am here for every second of it. Catherine Bybee again proves why she’s always been one of my favorite writers.
Chase Stone and his sister Alex find themselves inheriting all of their absentee father’s estate, including his business. They are both nothing like their father and find themselves scrambling to pick up the pieces of his business. They look no further than their father’s personal assistant Piper Maddox, whom he fired a few weeks ago because she wouldn’t give in to his sexual advances. Piper initially wants nothing to do with working for them but agrees when her demands are met.
This story weaves a bit of a mystery as Chase and Alex are forced to confide in Piper about a missing half brother. As the three of them work together to unravel Senior Stone’s secrets, Piper and Chase grow unexpectedly close. Their attraction is palpable and unavoidable despite the horrible timing. And Piper has a secret of her own as well. Chase is unbelievably sweet and supportive of Piper. Their banter back and forth was so fun to read. And the real friendship between Piper and Alex is so special.
This story was the perfect beginning that left me wanting more. There’s a bit of a cliff hanger that leads into the next book but not enough of a cliff hanger to be frustrating. I cannot wait for the remainder of the books in this series to see how everything resolves.
Thanks to NetGalley, Catherine Bybee and Montlake for the ARC opportunity.
