Happy release day to Crossroads (Haven River Ranch book 1) by @devneyperry💜
Crossroads is a second chance, childhood friends to lovers romance that takes place at a ranch in Montana. Devney writes her small town romances in a way that makes me feel like I am part of the fictional world, and this one felt no different even though it was the first in a completely new series.
West and Indya captured my heart right away. Their story is told in dual timelines and their chemistry in both the past and present had me rooting for them. This book was fun, angsty and sexy.
I truly didn’t think it was possible to become more obsessed with Devney Perry books than I already am but I have a feeling this series will be her best yet and will wreck me every step of the way. After rereading twice I decided it is in my top 5 Devney books🤭
The audiobook is narrated by Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais - I was in heaven the entire time😍
It’s no secret I love second chance romances and this one was perfect. I devoured Indya and West’s story. I loved the flashbacks to their childhood/teen/young adult years. It was fun (and heartbreaking) to slowly peel back what happened to get us to present day. I cried and laughed and just all around loved this book. It is one of my favorite books from this author and definitely a top read of 2024! I cannot wait for the next book, Sunlight!
Devney absolutely smashed this one again!!
I loved this second chance (kind of? Maybe a little more then second chance!!) romance, it absolutely hurt my heart but put it right back together again.
I cried and smiled all the way through, and I really enjoyed the different time jumps as they gave such a good understanding of Indya and West.
I would 100% recommend reading this book as it was such a joy to read!
happy happy release day!! Crossroads is such a new comfort read for me! I adored Indya & West so dang much. Their romance felt so natural & real and as always i’m a sucker for a second chance🤭🤍Devney knows how to write soulmates perfectly. With West & Indya the timing just never worked out and they were young but when they are back in each others lives years later they are just inevitable. This book felt like a big hug, it gives you warm fuzzy feelings, and has you dreaming of that perfect first love. Crossroads is such am amazing book so go download it right!!!! now!!!!
The BEST part about the FIRST book in a new series by my fave author - Devney Perry, is that we know there is MORE fabulousness guaranteed. She's a prolific writer whose love for her home state- Montana, spills over on pages. Her detail oriented writer brain transports us to these mountains and lush grasslands, forests and rivers, down to herringbone floors and grumpy horse paintings
I actually visited yellowstone because of her books.
An amazing storyteller, her books have LOVE showcased in SPADES, with all the bells and whistles. Emotions and heat go hand in hand to make this a scintillating read. Childhood romance that starts with friendship and ends in heartache, packing a healthy dosage of angst before picking up back in the barn
"Time was always strange when it came to West and me.
It existed.
It Didn't "
Totally UNPUTDOWNABLE read from start to finish, I played on the ranch with Indya Keller and West Haven as children. Fell in love at the fort by the river, experienced their firsts in the beat up truck and when they separated, I burned and yearned for their togetherness. I cried tears for Indya, simmered in blinding passion for West
"Our gazes clashed, and as my eyes searched hers, the years between us seemed to unfold, swirling around us like a tornado, dragging us into the past."
I was jumping for their HEA and devney 👏Does 👏Not 👏Dissappoint👏
A second-Chance, Friends-to-enemies-to-lovers, small-town romance, it ticked all the boxes with aplomb.
Cannot wait to read Jax's story next.
5 stars because "I Wish"
Crossroads is Devney Perry’s new small town ranch series and what an emotional new venture! Perry’s writing dances between angsty, mysterious and sensual. Her characters are deep and interesting with layers that slowly reveal themselves. This new location and situations are intriguing and feel rooted in reality and relatable situations. This new series is a nice new breath into Perry’s worlds and I found the style, the people and the ranch to be the perfect mix to create a beautiful and deep romance.
Perry plays with flashbacks in order to slowly trickle out truths in this story. This is a second chance romance between two people who fell in love as children but points in their lives have pulled them apart. This romance is about rebirth, rebuilding and rediscovery. Perry easily draws the reader in and keeps them interested and guessing on the truth with each chapter. The chemistry sparks, and the deep pull of feelings is ever present.
This novel is definitely worth your time. If you love Perry’s works you are sure to delight. This is a perfect place to start if you have never read from her before and it is the perfect addition to her backlist!
Thank you Montlake & NG for an e-arc!

This book was so good! I loved it so much. A second chance, enemies to lovers done right. The story was sweet. I enjoyed the dual timelines. I love West & Indy. Their relationship and growth was so good!

I can't wait for the next book in this series!
“I wished I had kept her. I wished our timing had worked years ago. I wished I had waited. I wished she had waited too.”
Yeehawwww! Haven River Ranch here I come! I loved, loved, loved Crossroads! This book is the first ebook I have finished in over 2 months, nothing like a cowboy romance from Devney to pull me out of my slump!! This second chance romance gave me all the feels and then some! The past and present timelines built this beautiful story of young love, imperfect timing and that moment of reconnection and forgiveness to the unyielding passion that never faded over the years.
“I want everyone to know you’re mine. Employees. Guests. Anyone who sets foot on this ranch. We were a secret for too long, baby. I’m not hiding this anymore.”
Through all their banter and fighting, it was clear from the start that Indya and West had never lost their connection. I loved watching them discover all they had missed and all they had yet to learn about each other and slowly fall back in love, even if West didn’t want anything to do with her to start. Indya was determined to show him that her heart was always in the right place. But West was rightfully pissed for all his father had done in selling the ranch behind his back and the complicated family dynamics is something I’m looking forward to watching unfold in the series! Overall Indya and West’s love story beautiful, heartfelt and downright sexy! I loved every minute!
Overall I enjoyed this book, it took me a little while to get invested in the relationship, its a bit of a slow burn/takes a while for the romance to really start
I loved the dual timeline and seeing chapters of their relationship over the years and them falling in love whilst growing up
I really loved the setting of the ranch and resort, I thought it was really cute and described in the best way that I could picture it
- ‘its always been you’ vibes
- slow burn
- dual timeline
- cowboy romance
- montana ranch and resort setting
Thank you to Montlake and NetGalley for the ARC - all opinions are my own
I was really bored the first 50%. I had a difficult time getting into it and I was thinking about dnf’ing. I might have just read this at the wrong time, idk, I was mostly just bored. I’m glad I didn’t even though I kind of suffered through almost half of the book. I enjoyed the last 50%.
It’s not often I come across romance books where the woman is the rich one, the one in charge, the one with power. It was a nice change. Though I was really uncomfortable with the dynamic in the beginning since I didn’t know all of what was going on. We didn’t get the full context right away as to why Indya bought the ranch, so I was a bit worried she didn’t have a good enough reason. What she did seemed really uncool at the time and I was really not liking her, but it panned out well.
I liked West and I started liking Indya a bit further into the book. I was missing the angst and tension I want in a second chance romance and I didn’t feel much of a connection between the mc’s in the beginning. I only got invested and started rooting for them further in. I really enjoyed the last 50% of this book, but the first 50% were just not doing it for me. I’m very glad the book wasn’t longer than it’s 220 pages though.
West and Indya were adorable together in the end and they definitely deserved their happily ever after. Not a ”wow” read, but I’d recommend it if it sounds interesting to you.
- I do not fw Devney Perry’s smut. It’s BAD.
- I wasn’t a fan of the fact Indya got married, but I can see why she did it. And since she wasn’t really ever in love with the dude, I felt like it was fine.
- The ending wasn’t rushed per se, but I wanted to see a bit more of West and Indya as a couple.
- All of the parents (the living ones) were absolute garbage.
I’m not a fan of chapters from the past but these ones weren’t too bad.
3.75 stars
New series, new town, new unforgettable characters!!! I was so excited for this release.
I just knew I was going to devour it, and I sure did. I just couldn’t put it down for even a second!!! I cannot wait to see what we have in store with this series!!!
3,5 ⭐️
I really liked this story, but somehow it got me so slumpy??Don’t know what happened there, but it’s probably on me. Anyway, back to the story.
This story follows West and Indya, who meet when they’re just kids, on a ranch in Montana. 🤠
The story goes back and forth between timelines, all the way from the moment they meet up until the present. It shows them meeting and their relationship up until now. I really like books with multiple timelines, so that’s a win. Also liked the small-town, ranch feeling that this book gave me. It was my first Devney Perry book, but it won’t be my last! ♥️
There’s lots of family dynamics and character development in this book, which I really like. Search up trigger warnings for some heavier topics, like grief 💌
Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own 🫶🏼
I don’t know if i’ll ever love a book as much as I loved this one.
A second chance. enemies to lovers (done right!), small town, cowboy romance. I’ve been pushing this book on everyone i know for like a month now
I have been dying to get my hands on this book and Perry did not disappoint. The one thing I look forward to the most with this author, is how the emotions are woven within the pages and you can feel them so much. The heart, the grief, the tension. Absolutely everything. Crossroads takes you on a journey of everything and more between Indya and West. The build and chemistry of their relationship to how it all played out will keep you completely invested. I am so looking forward to more within this world!
Amazing start to Devney's new Haven River Ranch series!
- small town
- cowboy
- childhood friends
- second chance
- enemies to lovers
There's just something about a second chance romance thats so heartbreaking yet soothing. West & Indya grew up with each other every summer that Indya and her parents would come to Montana. But life happens and their lives both take a bit of a detour. It isn't until Indya decides to buy West's ranch from his father and take it over that they are reunited. Since being stuck with one another again they quickly realize that their feelings for each other are very much still there and more intense than ever.
Their story was so sweet and I loved all the flashbacks to their childhood together. Both West and Indya had things they went through and needed to deal with and seeing them together again as adults was just so heartwarming. These two are true soulmates and I devoured this book in one sitting.
Highly recommend this book and can't wait for more in this series!
Lovely wee story for a lazy Sunday afternoon. The flashbacks were nice a short and didn’t put you off the story . Hoping there’s a story about Jax in the works
Crossroads in the first book in the Haven River Ranch series. This series is definitely similar to the Edens series. This is small town Montana, childhood friends to lovers turned enemies to lovers, forced proximity, second chance, all on a western ranch.
I was so heartbroken when the Edens series was over, but let me tell you, we’re off to a good start with Haven River Ranch! This is a second chance romance done right.
Indya grew up on West’s family ranch, but when she left for the last time at age 23, she didn’t think she’d ever have a reason to go back. That is until a business deal is presented to her and suddenly she’s back, but as the new owner. West wants nothing to do with her, but he knows that she’s the only thing that can save his legacy.
I loved both the then and now perspectives and getting to watch the characters grow up. I always feel like those are the stories that draw me in the most and end up being the characters I’m most connected to. I know I just finished this recently, but I already can’t wait to reread it before Sunlight comes out.
returning to montana in a devney perry book feels returning home! crossroads has quickly become on my favorite books by devney! it truly has everythin want in a small town, second chance, romance!!!

This book had everything I love about a Devney Perry book 🥰
It was emotional, cozy, and comforting 🫠
West and Indya had me in my feels 🥹
This might be one of my favorite second chance romances OF ALL TIME!
It’s not a trope I gravitate toward to but Devney executed it to perfection 🤍 Each flashback truly added to the story!
I truly couldn’t ask for more 😍
