You Can Run by LC George is a fast-paced psychological thriller that will keep readers on the edge of their seats. The novel follows Rachel, a woman haunted by the trauma of her past, which includes the brutal murder of her mother and sister by her father, Dennis. Now, as an adult, Rachel has successfully built a new life for herself, changing her identity and marrying the love of her life, Dan. However, the past refuses to stay buried when she learns that her father is being released from prison after serving time for his crimes.

Rachel’s fear that Dennis may come after her is palpable and real. As a series of grisly murders begin to occur around the time of his release, Rachel grows increasingly paranoid, convinced that her father is stalking her. Despite her fears, her husband Dan dismisses her concerns, making Rachel feel more isolated and vulnerable than ever.

LC George masterfully builds tension as Rachel’s anxiety escalates. The author does an excellent job of capturing the internal conflict of a woman torn between past trauma and present relationships. Rachel’s terror is so visceral that readers can’t help but feel sympathy for her plight, and George expertly intertwines suspense with moments of vulnerability to create a complex and emotionally charged narrative.

What makes You Can Run especially compelling is its exploration of how trauma shapes a person’s psyche and relationships. While Rachel’s fears seem irrational to those around her, the reader understands just how deeply her past has scarred her. The psychological tension is further intensified by the growing sense of danger as Rachel uncovers more secrets, leading to a chilling and unexpected conclusion.

The twist in the story is genuinely shocking, revealing that the true nature of the threat Rachel faces is even more sinister than she initially thought. This final reveal packs a punch, adding layers of complexity to the already gripping plot.

For fans of psychological thrillers with dark twists, You Can Run is a must-read. The book delivers on its promise of suspense, terror, and emotional depth, all while keeping readers guessing until the very last page. LC George’s ability to craft a narrative that combines heart-pounding action with psychological complexity ensures that this novel will resonate long after the last chapter.

3.5⭐️⭐️⭐️

✨Drama
✨ Mystery Thriller
✨ predictable ending

✨Rachel is the main character in the story. As the blurb stated that she has been haunted by her dad . Who was the suspect for killing her mom and sister.
I can feel the sadness from Rachel, as predicted by the title she was always on a run for her father stalking her.
The ending was predictable too which is not usual,. The ending was okay, it a good read and fast paced which is great.

Thankyou for the opportunity to read this arc for a honest review .

I really enjoyed this story. Even though I figured it out about half way thru there was a twist that was kind of shocking.

Great character build up making you like but even hate one or two at the same time.

I definitely will add this author to my favorite list.

This one wasn't for me, it seemed very generic and typical to others in its genre. However, I did think one of the plot twists was original and entertaining even though the ultimate plot twist was a bit stretched and unoriginal. The pacing was decent after the first 30% or so of the book, but I didn't care much about any of the characters, and I found Rachel to be difficult to understand in terms of her decision-making and beliefs about her family.

Thank you to Inkubator Books and NetGalley for providing an ARC!

This book was not my favorite thriller. I felt like it was a pretty generic thriller to begin with but what really irritated me was the ending/plot twist. I didn't enjoy the plot twist at all. I thought it was kind of lazy and it didn't make a ton of sense to me. I wish the twist had been different but, alas, it is what it is. I would like to try another book by this author eventually.

I loved the premise, and this book had many twists and turns. Was a little slow to start, and I wasn't really sure what was going on but it all pieced together and i loved the twists!

Great story that kept me guessing. I didn’t know who to trust and there were some fantastic twists . Sometimes heartwarming moments between the group members but also highlighted each characters flaws - nominee was without flaws in this book. Some very creepy edge of your seat moments. I would recommend

This one started off slow for me but picked up in the 2nd half. It centers on Rachel, whose father is in prison for murdering her mother and sister when she was a young child. When he gets out of prison she is terrified he is going to find her and disrupt the life she built for herself since.

The first half of the book is a little repetitive and focuses mostly on Rachel’s feelings for her father and her dynamic with others in her life. Things heat up on the 2nd half and the whole story changes (though I won’t give any spoilers here!). From there on out, the story was fast paced with many twists. Though I figured out a couple of the twists, there were definitely some surprises. I thought the ending worked well, too, though some of the happenings are a bit unrealistic when all is said and done.

Overall, I enjoyed the book; if you’re like me and feel that the first part is a slog, keep reading! Thanks to Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

“You Can Run” was a great, quick read to scratch the itch for an interesting mystery/thriller. It was full of tension and kept my attention and the twists paid off. I was obsessed with this thriller, but it was good for a quick, easy, and engaging read. Thank you to NetGalley and Inkubator Books for the arc!

Premise:

Rachel thought she’d escaped her father. But now he’s found her. Rachel was barely more than an infant when her father, Dennis, murdered her mother and sister. In prison ever since, Dennis has never said one word about why he killed two family members - or why he spared Rachel. Now a grown woman, Rachel has done everything she can to leave her terrible past behind. She has changed her identity and is now happily married to the love of her life, Dan. But there is a dark cloud on the horizon. Dennis is due to be released from prison and Rachel worries that he will kill again, that he may even come after her.

This is my first book by L C George and I have mixed feelings The character development was decent, I found myself a bit disappointed with the MC, I found her to be a bit unlikeable, and I despised her spouse. There were enough twists to hold my interest, but at the same time I felt like there could have been more meat and less filler. All in all, it was promising, but fell a bit flat for me.

Many thanks to Inkubator Books, Net Galley, and the Author for this ARC in exchange for my honest feedback.

3.5 stars.

And sure enough, a series of murders begins around the time of his release. Rachel is terrified, convinced that her father is stalking her, certain she will be his next victim. Even worse, Dan thinks she is being paranoid and won’t do anything to protect her. Isolated, vulnerable, Rachel spends her days in an agony of terror and suspense. But as bad as this is, the truth is even worse. Because Rachel only has part of the picture, and what she is actually facing is far more horrifying than even her wildest nightmares.

I could not put this book down. Yes, it was that good. So many twists and turns that had me on the edge of my seat. Will recommend to others.

I quite enjoyed reading this book. It was a fun ride and I’d pick up another by this author. I do think that some aspects were pretty outlandish and went well beyond a twist . But it’s a solid tense thriller .
