Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. If this puts you in mind of the psychological thrillers from Frieda McFadden, then make no mistake, because that's what drew me in.

This thriller had such a unique storyline that kept me totally invested. The twist was original and it was hard to put it down!

This is an OK book.

Woth a coffee in hand and a light music to drown our the noise, this is a cozy thriller. Wouldn't say that this deserves a 5 star-rating but it definitely got me out of my reading slump.

YOU CAN RUN... wow what a fun read. The book starts out slow and confusing but once it clicks it all goes so quickly and I didn't want to put it down. The characters were well developed and the storyline made me want to find out more and needed to know what was coming next. I liked how the chapters were set up in the past and current time frame. The reader isn't sure who the past voice is and had me fooled since I decided it was a different character.

This is my first George book but will not be my last for sure. This book was such a fast read and I love staying engaged and wanting to figure out who did it but man the what was done shifted in the end and was a wild ride that no one will see coming - I did figure part of it out but not the whole picture until the end of the book. I look forward to reading more from this author. Don't walk RUN to get this book!!

Thank you Inkubator Books and NetGalley for this ARC! Keep reading and find your next adventure in black and white!! #youcanrun #netGalley

Thank you to NetGalley and Inkubator Books for the free ARC of You Can Run in exchange for my honest review.

You Can Run tells the story about a woman whose father is a convicted murderer (specifically familicide), and he's due to be released from prison soon. Shortly after being released the murders start up again. Is it Rachel's father or a copy cat? And how will anyone know the difference?

The concept for this book sounded right up my alley, but the overall execution fell short for me. The twists were a bit too unbelievable (I had one of them guessed very early on), and the lack of communication between characters drove me absolutely bananas at times (it would have solved A LOT of issues). The pacing was a bit off, as well. I definitely enjoyed the first part of the book best.

Overall, was not my favorite, BUT I see most people loved it so I simply may not be the right audience.

This was one of the best thrillers I’ve ever read! The plot was gripping, the characters were well-developed, and the twists were definitely twisting. The writing style of this book had my spine tingling, and I had chills through most of the book. I was nervous reading this in the dark. That makes for an amazing thriller in my opinion. There is nothing better than writing that makes you feel exactly what your characters are feeling. L.C. George has a new fan in me for sure.

I could not stop turning the pages. The prologue dragged me in and I wasn’t released until the very last word. Over and over again I thought I knew who the villain was, and I was wrong over and over again. The twists and turns fit so well with the storyline and all made sense. My jaw dropped open multiple times throughout this book. I’ve been recommending this to all my thriller-loving friends!

Thank you NetGalley and Inkubator Books for an ARC in exchange for my honest and voluntary review.

Wow! What a roller coaster of a ride! I thought I had it all figured out, but I was way off base on most of it. That ending really was a shocker!!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc. Rachel tried to escape her past and her father. It doesn't seem she was as successful as she thought. Her father is out of prison after spending years for murdering her mother and sister when she was little. I trusted characters I shouldn't have, and didn't trust others I should have, this one was an amazing array of emotions. Loved it!

Excellent book. It was a new experience studying the murders through a psychopath murderer's eyes. The book had a lot of twists and turns and it was really shocking and interesting. It was very well written and sucked me in.

A big knot in the brain. That was the feeling I had after finishing this book. Rachel is a woman who spent most of her life running away from her biggest secret: her father, Dennis, killed her mother and sister when she was just a child and that stayed with her throughout her life. After all, who can overcome such trauma? Despite being incarcerated, Dennis could come out at any moment and Rachel is terrified by this idea, not wanting to face such a vile murderer again. But life doesn't go well for Rachel and Dennis is actually released before the time and here begins the whole story that feature the main events of this book. Because Rachel effectively hides from everyone in her life that she is the daughter of a murderer (except her husband) but those around her and her closest friends still have bigger secrets to reveal. I confess that halfway through the book I thought I had already figured out everything and knew how it would end, but no. I was far away and lost and I was completely blown away by the ending. An ending that felt bitter to me, but I understood why it was that way. It's a compulsively readable book, with interesting characters and narrated from the POV of Rachel and another mystery character, who talks about her/himself in the past, only being revealed at the end who it is. I'm just telling you that no one, no one, is innocent in this story, although only a few are truly guilty. Thank you for the opportunity to read this, I really enjoyed it.

I enjoyed this book. I don't think the idea of writing about those close to accused killers has been done to death yet (so to speak), and it's always an interesting concept. (See also the Red House by Roz Watkins and Alice Hunter's novels.)

The story was quite twisty and kept me interested. I very almost guessed the ending, but I'd got two of the characters the wrong way round. I didn't particularly like any of the characters, though, and there's one particular point that I'm not at all clear about what happened. (I can't say without spoilers.)

Overall, though, it was well-written, a good concept, and an enjoyable read.

This just wasn't for me. I think maybe I wasn't in the right mind frame and I didn't connect with Rachel. I have a few friends I know would love this, so it must be a good book.

You Can Run
Written by L C George

About / Blurb:

Rachel thought she’d escaped her father. But now he’s found her.

Rachel was barely more than an infant when her father, Dennis, murdered her mother and sister. In prison ever since, Dennis has never said one word about why he killed two family members - or why he spared Rachel.

Now a grown woman, Rachel has done everything she can to leave her terrible past behind. She has changed her identity and is now happily married to the love of her life, Dan.

But there is a dark cloud on the horizon.

Dennis is due to be released from prison and Rachel worries that he will kill again, that he may even come after her. And sure enough, a series of murders begins around the time of his release.

Rachel is terrified, convinced that her father is stalking her, certain she will be his next victim. Even worse, Dan thinks she is being paranoid and won’t do anything to protect her.

Isolated, vulnerable, Rachel spends her days in an agony of terror and suspense. But as bad as this is, the truth is even worse. Because Rachel only has part of the picture, and what she is actually facing is far more horrifying than even her wildest nightmares…

My Review:

I found this book quite easy to get into, which was good, & although it was mainly a detective-like plot; much like a ‘whodunnit’, throughout, it was refreshing that it read from start to finish as a gripping Psychological Thriller style plot, focusing around the main character, Rachel, and those who were closest to her, - her police officer husband, her recently released convicted murderer of a father, & her four close friends, - rather than unfolding as a detective-led Crime Thriller plot. I felt that the way in which this was written conveyed mystery from the very beginning, & throughout, & it also brought into question just ‘whom’ Rachel could really trust, & just how well she believed she knew those closest to her. NO SPOILERS! - I really don’t want to give anything away in terms of its plot, but all I will say is that this book kept me guessing, right through to the very end, - so there are some delicious twists along the way!
I liked its overall pace, & its consistency throughout, & how it kept me completely drawn into it; wanting to keep reading to discover what would happen next. I would describe this as such a compelling read, from the very beginning, which kept me guessing, right through to the very end!

Based on a rating of 1-10, where 10 is the highest, I would give this book a rating of 8 out of 10. If a gripping Psychological Thriller which will keep you guessing, is your thing, then THIS is a read which I would highly recommend!

This book follows Rachel who has run from her terrible past. When she was a child her mother and sister were brutally killed by her father who let her live and has been in prison since. She grew up and is now happily married to Dan a police officer who is the only one who knows the truth about her past. She has changed her name and living a whole different life trying to erase her tragic story. But when she receives a letter informing her that her father has been released from prison more women start appearing dead and is this a coincidence?

THIS BOOK WAS SOMETHING ELSE!!!! Keeps you flipping the pages to see where the story is going. there were so many twists and turns and when you think you have everything figured out NO theres something else that emerges. i would highly recommend this thriller to anyone looking for something different and fresh compared to all the thrillers that are out there. there were twists till the last second and theres nothing more i appreciate as a thriller reader. 5/5!!!!

You Can Run....

But you might not be able to hide.

Whoa mama! Talk about a pulse pounding thriller! This one had me on the edge my seat and white knuckling my kindle as I read.

This one sure is a doozie and LC George, really knows what she is doing! I mean, I guess I should have known. Last year I read her debut, The Sleepwalker and I was instantly in love with her writing style.

You Can Run, plunges you right into the plot, the description, all consuming, will have you feeling, hearing and fearing, everything around you.

Talk about a real spine tingler .

Check out this teaser :
