You Can Run is a solid thriller. I found the story gripping enough, and the flash backs kept things interesting. I didn't find the characters did much for me - all just slightly lacking but the story was enough to make this a good read.

Some good twists, a few genuinely scary moments and the writing was well done. I would have liked more from the ending, I still have a few questions and struggled with the lack of any major motive.

Overall, an enjoyable beach read.

This is more of a horror book, than a thriller book. If that is more your cup of tea, then you will like it! I expected it to be a thriller, and I personally do not like horror books that much.

This psychological thriller had me side-eyeing everyone around me – you never know who to trust! It flips back and forth between the past and present, gradually feeding you the puzzle pieces you're dying to put together. Gotta admit, it took a hot minute for the story to rev up for me, but once it did, I was all in. What kept me on my toes was the little extra plots sprinkled throughout, serving up twists and turns when you least expect them. By the end, I was left feeling a bit weird, like I couldn't trust anyone's version of events.

Now, here's the thing – the story's got some killer twists, but it left me hanging on the "why" part. I get the whole crazy psycho vibe, but uncovering the motive would've added a whole extra layer of intrigue. Despite that, if you're into stories that keep you guessing, this one's got plenty of surprises up its sleeve!

While I appreciate the premise, I struggled to connect with the characters on a deeper level. The story seemed more like a summary of events told by the main character, rather than drawing me into the immersive experience. Additionally, I found that a significant portion of the book featured repetitive dialogue (both internal and between characters) without advancing the plot. Although I do enjoy unexpected twists and turns, I was able to anticipate most of them before the conclusion—although it's important to note that I'm an avid reader of this genre, so others may still find surprises in the story's conclusion.

A gripping psychological read that grabs you from the first page and holds on to you until the very last page!
Hard to put down once you start!

Your run-on-the-mill mystery thriller.
I'm not sure what I like about it other than it is something to read. I spent almost a week to finish the book since it didn't really speak to me. I don't really like Rachel nor any of her friends. The only fleshed out character is only her, which, okay.
The book has a twist in the end so make sure you don't miss it.

Omg what a fantastic read this was I was engrossed from the first page until the very last. This thriller jumps from past to present which helps build the tension up throughout. There was many twists and turns it had me gripped to my kindle. Can’t recommend this highly enough excellent gripping thriller. Thanks to netgallery and the publisher for my advanced copy.

This was a fantastic book. One of the best thrillers I’ve read in a while, it’s going on my favorite reads so far in 2024. It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I did figure it out partially but I was also surprised by other parts of the book. Thank you to Netgalley for the arc of the book, I definitely recommend this book. If you are a fan of Frieda McFadden like I am, I think this is a book you’d like.

Who can you trust when you’re living a lie? This book alternates between past and present, eventually giving you all the pieces to the puzzle the reader so desperately wants to put together. Personally the book started a tad slow, but about 1/3 of the way through I was invested in the plot. The one thing I did like was that there were little plots within the big plot, which meant twists and turns throughout. The story left me bothered, still unwilling to trust anyone’s story. The one thing I didn’t like was that there truly was never a “why”, I know you are supposed to go with the psychopath vibe, but it would have been another layer to include the “ why they chose their victims” thought pattern.

Thanks to #NetGalley and #InkubatorBooks for the book #YouCanRun by #LCGeorge. This book was non stop suspense in a game of cat and mouse. Who can you trust? Is my dad a serial killer? First time author but won’t be my last book.

I am a big fan of psychological thrillers, so this sounded right up my alley. I did enjoy the premise, but I did not feel a true connection to the characters as I needed to in order to love the story. Perhaps it was because the story unfolded more like a summing up of events by the main character, instead of allowing me to feel I was immersed and experiencing it with her. I also felt there was a lot of the same dialogue (inner and between characters) repeated for a good portion of the book without moving the plot forward. The story does feature some twists and turns, which I always love, however I figured out all but one before the end (I do read a LOT of these types of stories, though, and others might have some good surprises near the end).

Thanks to Net Galley for a preview of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Thanks to Inkubator Books, NetGalley, and LC George for a fascinating thriller in “You Can Run”. The suspense was tightly focused and intense and I loved the main characters in the story. When Rachel’s father is released from prison she is put on hypervigilance because she has kept that part of her life a secret from her friends. However, the secret is about to come out into the open because women are turning up dead and the police are looking at her father as the prime suspect. But not everyone is being totally honest around Rachel and their secrets are bigger and scarier than hers. This book kept me up late into the night reading it—it’s that good. Definitely worth it if you’re a fan of Frieda McFadden or Daniel Hurst.

I’m the type of reader who needs instant grabbing and I just didn’t get it here. Overall a good read.

This was definitely a slow starting book, I had issue with getting into it. There were a few good twists though and an overall decent read.
