Prefacing this by saying that I STAYED UP UNTIL 2AM TO FINISH THIS!!
I was super excited for this one because the authors are also the writers of one of my favorite romance series, the Addicted series, so I knew it’d be good. And, turns out, it was good!
This was a sloooooowww burn. So angsty!! Like, you finally get action at 70% through the book 😩😵💫 And then when you get it, it’s like one scene then BOOM, the book is over. I loved it, but just needed…. MORE.
Spice was like 2.5-3/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️ because like I said, it didn’t happen until the tail end of the book.
(Thank you, Berkley Publishing Group and NetGalley, for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.)
This book was wild.
The characters, the plot, everything was chaos.
It’s like watching a soap opera. It's outrageous and downright unbelievable at times, yet, for some reason, you can’t look away. You keep coming back.
It’s a quick, easy read and while I had my issues with it the book ends on a cliffhanger so I guess I am stuck waiting for the next book to see what happens.
I will say, that I enjoy the he found family trope in this book, and it’s a part of the reason why I’m sticking around for more.
“i’ve always been dishonestly yours. and it looks like that’s not changing.”
tropes: best friend’s brother, slowburn, angst and jealousy, found family
OH I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH!!! honestly i wasn’t sure what to expect going into it but it truly did have me hooked after every chapter. i fell in love with these characters, the story, the writing, everything!! since i’ve already read the addicted world series, i knew krista and becca ritchie wrote incredible books especially with the found family trope and i loved reading about this one!!🥹
okay i have to talk about the tension between phoebe and rocky… OH MY GODDD. their relationship really had me on the edge of my seat after every single scene they had together. the build up was just *chefs kiss* and i already have plans to go reread my favorite scenes!! phoebe and rocky are both flawed in their own ways but somehow they make absolute perfect sense together and that was so clear to me throughout the book. it was beautiful to see their relationship evolve and see their feelings become more and more obvious to each other and the people around them.🩷
and that ending??? i need the next book immediately!!
Dishonestly Yours was a wild ride, unlike anything I've ever read before. It was incredibly bingeable, and the found family aspect made it even more enjoyable. The book was filled with angst, messiness, and raw emotion, making it a compelling read from start to finish.
The tension between the main characters was scorching hot, but I have to admit, it dragged on a bit too long. Their reasons for not being together felt exaggerated and overly dramatic at times. There were moments when characters’ actions and dialogue seemed almost theatrical, adding to the drama but also making it feel a bit contrived.
Despite this, I still had a lot of fun reading it.
And that ending?? It left me craving more from this world. I’m definitely excited to continue the series and see where these characters go next.
This book was a captivating, emotional journey that I won't soon forget.
Thank you to NetGalley, Valentine PR and the authors for letting me enjoy this arc!!
This was such a fun read! It was fast paced, I loved the mystery aspect to it and the spice was perfect as always! I cannot wait to see where else this series will take us! The tension and angst between Rocky & Phoebe was done sooo well and the lead up to them finally coming together was SO worth it!! Can’t wait for book 2!
This book was fun and interesting! I loved the first portion of the book and couldn’t put it down. When the tension was lost the plot became less interesting, but I would still recommend his book to anyone that lived their other books or romance.
Dishonestly Yours is the first book in a brand-new series about two con artist families, written by Krista and Becca Ritchie. Best friends Phoebe and Hailey try to leave their life of deceit behind and start over by living honestly in Connecticut. That’s difficult to do when their grifter siblings decide to follow them.
The Ritchie twins authored two of my favorite series: the Addicted/Callaway Sisters series and the Like Us series. Part of what made these series so successful in my mind was the excellent character development. Both series featured a unique and flawed but appealing cast of characters and their intricate relationships with each other. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said of the characters in Dishonestly Yours. They seem undefined—interchangeable personalities, vague relationships, even their ages are ambiguous.
The plot gets messy with an unnecessary fake dating scheme, flashbacks, and a confusing love-hate relationship between Phoebe and Hailey’s older brother Rocky. Phoebe is so chill that nothing phases her—not even violence and betrayal. I just didn’t buy it. I did enjoy the friendship between Phoebe and Hailey, but I kept waiting to learn more about the Graves and Tinrock families. Eventually, I lost interest and struggled to finish.
The book ends on a very predictable cliffhanger of sorts. While this may be a disappointing outing, it's not too late to do greater character exploration in the future. There’s no word yet on the next book, and the jury’s still out on whether or not I’ll continue.
4.75 stars!!
my jaw is on the floor right now. this book is exhilarating!!! & i can’t even form coherent thoughts because THE ENDING! so much drama, so many twists, so much tension!!!!!
i didn't know i needed a book about two con artist families until i read this book. as someone who really enjoys heists and spy-related books, this one was PERFECT. i loved the flashbacks to previous jobs & how hard phoebe is trying to be better... there were so many plot twists that were surprising. the characters are soooo well-developed. I LOVE ROCKY!!!!!! him and phoebe are perfection. i think kb ritchie captured the drama, distrust and wanting between phoebe and rocky perfectly. i had to sit with the ending of this book for quite awhile before i could pick up another book.... it's that good. if you enjoy books by sophie lark, read this!
speaking of can't wait for BOOK TWO!!!!!!!
thank you Valentine PR, Berkley Romance, & Netgalley for the eARC. this is my honest review!
I really enjoyed this story of Phoebe and Rocky. It seems that even if it's not the addicted series these authors can still grab a hold of you and take you on one hell of a ride!
DISHONESTLY YOURS is the first instalment in the contemporary, adult WEBS WE WEAVE erotic, romance series co-authored by Krista and Becca Ritchie. DISHONESTLY YOURS focuses on twenty-four year old Phoebe Graves, her best friend Hailey Tinrock, and twenty-five year old, Brayden ‘Rocky’ Tinrock.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Rocky and Phoebe) using present day and memories from the past, DISHONESTLY YOURS follows Rocky, Phoebe and Hailey as they venture to Victoria, Connecticut, in an effort to escape their pasts. The Graves and Tinrocks are a family of grifters, several generations of con men, women and children but Hailey claims she wants a new start following a con that went wrong, taking her brother Rocky, and her best friend Phoebe along for the ride but Rocky is unaware of what happened or why, and their pasts are about to land in Victoria Connecticut demanding reparations for secrets and lies.
The world building is detailed and elaborate as we are up close and personal with a life most of us know nothing about. The Graves and Tinrock children have been players in their parents’ cons, grifters from birth yet the long game does not appear to have an ending, and the everyone is tired of working for someone else.
We are introduced to Phoebe’s brothers Nova and Oliver, Rocky’s brother Trevor; rich kid Jake Waterford, as well as their mother’s Addison and Elizabeth.
DISHONESTLY YOURS is a story of secrets and lies, money and power, betrayal and vengeance, determination and desperation. The premise is intriguing, dramatic and powerful; the romance is limited ; the characters are purposeful, strong-willed and heartbreaking. DISHONESTLY YOURS ends on a cliff hanger -you have been warned.

Thank you, Krista and Becca Ritchie, Netgalley and Berkeley for an early copy of this book
I have been a fan of KBR books for almost 5 years now. Especially the Addicted and Aerial Ethereal World. And when they announced they are going to start a whole new series, it got me excited and curious.
Dishonestly Yours is the first book in the Webs We Weave series. This books starts with Phoebe Graves and Hailey Tinrock, coming from two families of con artists trying to leave their life of crime behind and navigate a normal life outside of their families after a traumatic event. But it was difficult because Rocky, Hailey's brother stood in their way.
Phoebe Graves. My girl. I love her so much. The way she reminds me so much about Lily Calloway. Just like Lily, she has been through a lot, taken advantage of, made to feel worthless, vulnerable but she comes back strong everytime and show so much resilience.
Rocky was kinda mysterious to me. Like it took me some time to understand him. He is this cynical person who don't trust anyone who isn't his loved ones. He is also so protective, fiercely loyal and supportive of them. Even if he has problems with his parents, he would go beyond for his siblings.
Phoebe and Rocky's relationship was everything. I loved their dynamic. They had insane chemistry, their banter was so entertaining and the angst, damn 🤌
They also were so subtly lilo coded. Like their pinning for each other, was in love with each other but their issues and their lives made them fight against those feelings.
One thing KBR is so amazing is giving us the found family or loving and protective siblings bond. Like Both Phoebe and Rocky have 2 siblings each. And they love them and are protective of them. Also all 6 of them are so interconnected as they grew up together. And have created this amazing bond.
Ngl it took me a lot of time for me to be connected to the story and the characters. But once I found that spark, I started to understand them better.
Last 10% was so crazy like I really didn't see that plot twist coming. Like it changed my whole view of what the series was leading up to and that cliffy ending. Oh I really need that second book right now. Like hello, KBR, u r evil to end it like that, just when I had been hooked to the plot.
As the first book in the series, this was a decent ride. And I'm looking forward to see how everything is going to be unlocked.

✨ 𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗘𝗪 ✨
Con artists Phoebe and Hailey break away from the family business to try to live normally but the rest of the family start to trickle into the rich town they’ve settled into, along with broody childhood crush Rocky.
✨ 𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗘𝗪 ✨
Holy cliffhanger Batman! Allow me a few seconds to slow clap the best cliffhanger. Like I am aggog! Expect a slow burn, medium paced story of con artists who try to stop that life and live normally after a con gone wrong.
There were so many layers to this tale, and the two con artist families. The slow burn in so many ways kept you going as your curiosity was peaked, and the tension was building. Huge revelations come out near the end which culminates in an explosive cliffhanger.
This is for my sloooow burn romance, lovers and lovers of morally gray characters. All the mains are con artists so there isn’t one cinnamon roll or sunshine insight. Everything is fair game.
Thank you Berkely Publishing Group and Netgalley for a copy of this e-arc in exchange for an honest review.
3.5 stars rounded down
This was my first book by the duo Krista Ritchie and Becca Ritchie. I have the Addicted series on my shelf and haven't read it yet. The premise of the book was promising. We follow two con artists' families who have become close. Phoebe and Hailey have decided to give up conning and live a normal life. But that isn't as easy as they thought, especially when Rocky, Hailey's big brother, follows them to the small town. Phoebe and Rocky have a tumultuous relationship filled with love and lust that neither is willing to admit.
The beginning of the book to about the 40% had me hooked. I was intrigued by the conning lifestyle and the backstory of Rocky and Phoebe. It was funny to read about their unrealistic expectations for making an honest living on a full-time serving job. From 40% to 80% the book dragged. It felt like I was stuck in that spot for weeks. There wasn't much plot and the book is far too long already. The last 20% and the ending (that cliffhanger) redeemed it slightly. Enough that I am excited to see where the next book leads Phoebe and Rocky.
Overall, a decent read, just could have used some trimming in the middle.
This was my first book by the authors and I enjoyed it! I was hooked from the start. Phoebe and Rocky have such intense chemistry! They both have been trying to fight it off for years with disdain and lots of arguing! We get a lot of great banter which I loved! This is a slow burn but it was so good. This was such a unique book, I have not read one like it but this was enjoyable. It does end on a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to see what’s next.
What to expect:
Con Artist Families
Slow Burn
Best Friend’s Brother
Found Family
Lots of Angst
Grumpy X Grumpier
This was one heck of a ride. A great start to a new series. Hailey and Phoebe are best friends. Both of them come from families of con artists. When a con goes south they decide to run away and start over. The small Connecticut town seems too good to be true. The other problem is that Hailey's brother, Rocky decides to tag along on their new adventure. His past with Phoebe is messy, but they both can't seem to stay away from eachother.
This book is a perfect example of a slow burn with lots of tension that's done right. The story starts off slow, but once the story takes off it really takes off. I loved the slow burn between Rocky and Phoebe. The undeniable chemistry is so strong. I loved Rocky so much! He's so morally grey, but can't help be protective over Phoebe. His love for her knows no bounds. I loved Phoebe's resilience and loved her bravery. I loved all of Rocky and Phoebe's moments together. I was squealing so much.
I loved Phoebe's friendship with Hailey. Rocky and Phoebe's siblings are all very interesting. After the first half I devoured the rest of the book like it was my last meal. What a wild ride. Dishonestly Yours is addictive, intense and unforgettable. I need the next book like l need air. It's so good. The book does end on a cliffhanger, but sets it up nicely for the next book. Do yourself a favor and add this to your tbr. You won't be disappointed.
"Dishonestly Yours" is a tale of friendship, love, and family... the family you choose, not the one that you are born into.
Throughout the story we see the different ways that the characters show their love for one another as they try to escape the lives they have grown up with. One by one the characters show up for one another, supporting each other in ways that no one else can. The true strength of their character shines through their actions. Are they upstanding citizens? No, not usually, but they are honest with one another... mostly.
Towards the end of the book a few plot lines were converging, really picking up speed, and just when I thought more was about to happen... I was at the end. A cliffhanger that snuck up on me, leaving me wanting more.
Happy to have read this book - sad I did so now, and not just before the next book it scheduled to come out.
this book just wasn’t for me at all . the flow felt very forced and weirdly rushed when the book just started ? i even tried again after taking a break but i just couldn’t get into it . the constant teasing of will they or won’t they mixed with all the objectification of Phoebe’s appearance was just a no go for me .
If you know me at all you know I love Krista & Becca Ritchie. Their writing is so engaging and I fall in love with the characters they write. Of course I was so excited to get my hands on Dishonestly Yours.
Y’all I can’t even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed this book! It was such a great start to a new series with all the elements from the Ritchie sisters that I love. There is tension, angst, banter, chemistry, and such a strong sense of found family.
Phoebe and Rocky are con artists. They’ve grown up together pulling cons with their parents and siblings. After a job goes bad, Phoebe and her best friend, Rocky’s sister Hailey, decide to break free from their crime family, and live an honest life in a small east coast town, but they can’t dodge their parents forever.
The tension between Rocky and Phoebe was off the charts! They might have been raised to lie but with each other they were always honest. I loved these two so much. I loved how protective they were of the people they loved and I loved the bond they shared. It was complicated and messy but it was real and rooted in love. Their siblings were fantastic. The way they all love and support one another is amazing and I can not wait for more. The end of the book had me DYING for the next book.
Dishonestly Yours review…❤️🫶🏼🍓
Let me start of by telling you the pure joy of being back in a world written by Krista and Becca Richie🥹 this book had everything! Found family, friendship relationships, sibling relationships, a beautiful complicated romance, small town vibes.
I honestly haven’t read a book like this before, the plot was so unique! And it didn’t remind me of addicted/calloway series at all but in a really good way, like I was really excited to get into their writing again but in a whole new setting. At first I was a little unsure about the con artist side of the story, I think it’s because I haven’t really read anything like that before but I definitely grew into it and was hooked on finding out some of their past jobs and stories. I was so engaged in the plot I didn’t want to put the book down, and since finishing I haven’t actually stopped thinking about it.
The relationship was everything!!! I’m a sucker for a complicated toxic probably shouldn’t be together relationship I just love it and this was done perfectly. Rocky and Phoebe you could just tell were meant to be together even tho they technically shouldn’t be. I loved Rocky’ protectiveness and the little things he did to show how much Phoebe meant to him. I loved the progression of the relationship so much. I also loved both characters individually not just together which I think is sometimes really difficult to do when every character is obviously going to have flaws but I was obsessed with all of their flaws.
I loved the ending and the twists and turns that kept me completely gripped. I’m begging to find out what happens next! I think if you’ve always wanted to pick up the addicted/calloway series but are a bit intimidated by it being a 10 book series definitely read this book! It’ll give you a great insight to their beautiful writing and stories. I thoroughly enjoyed, already want to reread and annotate!
This was my first book by Krista & Becca Ritchie, and it did not disappoint!
This book stands out from all the others I've read, and I loved it so much. I was obsessed with Phoebe and Rocky and kept wanting more of their relationship. I gave it four stars because I didn’t connect with Jake's storyline as much. I wish there had been more focus on Phoebe and Rocky and their past "adventures" rather than the fake relationship with a third character. Nonetheless, I can't wait for the next book!
