OMG the first in the Ritchie's new series was fantastic! Dishonestly Yours left me with a dropped jaw and gasping for air

Dishonestly Yours is everything we needed for a deceptively cunning read, following two best friends who’s families are intertwined in more ways than one.

Phoebe and Hailey are best friends, their families are on the run, con artists that move from one city to the next and never stay put.

After a harrowing con gone wrong, the girls decide to split from the family and settle down in a small town in Connecticut that feels too good to be true.

Hailey’s brother joins them as they leave the con life behind, to make sure his sister is safe and that this is what she actually wants. It has nothing to do with his confusing relationship with Phoebe, that neither of them can admit or accept.

I enjoyed the high society life that is portrayed by the families with each con, even though you would assume con artists are lower class and struggling to get by. The glitz and glam that made the con lifestyle seem like a dream come true was enticing and almost made you want to join them.

Phoebe is constantly used by her mother to trick men with her body or seduction, but she doesn’t see it that way. She believes her mother is doing what she can to protect her, the families and the business. Rocky knows what he’s always wanted, but what he can never have: Phoebe. She will not allow her mother to be given that power over the two of them. Being used in cons because they love one another? Absolutely not. So they cannot act on their feelings, no matter what they feel for another.

I was reminded of The Great Gatsby parties, lifestyle and luxury, plus the mystery of trying to figure out what went wrong on “the con that shall not be named” that has Phoebe and Rocky so messed up.

Truly could not put this down and had it complete in a few reading sessions. Cannot wait for the next, Destructively Mine.

*Dishonestly Yours* by Krista and Becca Ritchie is a captivating addition to the series, blending humor, romance, and emotional depth in a way that keeps readers thoroughly engaged. The authors have a remarkable ability to create complex characters, and in this installment, the chemistry between the leads is palpable and delightful.

The plot twists and turns keep the story fresh, and the witty dialogue adds a lighthearted touch to the more serious moments. I appreciated how the authors tackled themes of trust and vulnerability, making the characters’ journeys relatable and heartfelt.

While some subplots felt slightly rushed, the overall pacing of the narrative was engaging, and the emotional payoff was well worth it. The rich world-building and supporting characters added depth to the story, making it a well-rounded read.

Overall, *Dishonestly Yours* is an entertaining and thought-provoking novel that fans of the authors will love. It's a perfect mix of romance and real-life struggles, leaving readers eagerly anticipating what comes next.

I don't know how KBR makes me care about so many characters at one time, but they have truly perfected it. And that's honestly what I read their books for - the characters drive the stories, the plot is just extra fun.

For years, I’d heard so many amazing things about Krista & Becca Ritchie that I knew I had to check out their latest release, Dishonestly Yours, and I have to say—the praise is well deserved! ⁣

First and foremost, the writing was phenomenal. From the very first sentence, I didn’t feel like I was reading a book at all, especially with these characters. They were so vivid they practically leapt off the page.

I’ve never read tension quite as exhilarating as the tension between Rocky and Phoebe. The scenes where they introduced each other to others, with the low-key (but not really low-key) jealousy, had me screaming. The slow burn was definitely burning, and their push-and-pull dynamic was intoxicating in the best way!

I loved the chemistry and back-and-forth banter between Rocky and Phoebe, the family dynamics with the siblings, and the characters as a whole. More than anything, I loved watching the story unfold. The concept was so interesting: growing up in a family of con artists, the implications of exploitation and deception, that leads them to grow resentful of their upbringing and want out of the family business. Watching them, two people shaped by lies, navigate their way beyond the fabrications to find themselves—both individually and together—was incredibly heartfelt. I was practically a blubbering mess for most of it and when I wasn’t, I was dying over their sizzling chemistry.

The only con (hehe see what I did there) would be that the book felt a bit too long, and some parts dragged—mainly the flashback intervals. Though they are important to understand the full scope of Rocky and Phoebe’s relationship, the pacing could’ve flowed a bit better in my opinion. But honestly I was so invested in the characters and the ‘will they won’t they’ dynamic that it still continued to consume my thoughts despite the lulling.

And the ending completely blew me away. Without spoiling anything, I’ll just say I cannot wait for the next book, it’s literally all I think about!

Overall, Dishonestly Yours was an addicting, emotional rollercoaster, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a gripping romance with amazing character development and unforgettable tension.

if you love heists, secretive friends to lovers, fake dating and so many other tropes, this book is for you. in this, we follow two families who have built their lives and an empire surrounding heists, but you read this from the kids perspectives, specifically Rocky and Phoebe who are from the separate families. Rocky is the usual bad boy type in all the heists and as himself, while Phoebe is the good girl. Phoebe and Hailey, her best friend and Rockys sister, have a heist go wrong that flips their entire worlds upside down, so they try to leave their criminal lives behind and start new lives, and it goes well until Rocky shows up. Phoebe decides Rocky is her ex husband in their new life, but throughout the book, you just know their meant to be together. As time goes on, more of their siblings end up showing up and it was so fun to see how the group interacts with each other. It has a major plot twist at the end and I'm very excited to read the next book because I feel like we JUST got to where I was hoping we would and there are so many secrets left to uncover!

Phoebe and Hailey are no stranger to a con, that’s how they grew up after all, but nothing goes as planned in this one. Can they put the past behind them to find true happiness? This one read so fast and look at this amazing cover! Love it

I never read the ADdicted series, so this is my first book by these authors.
And i LOVED it!
I might have to commit myself to their previous works in the near future!
I loved the idea of con artist families! Idk, it felt so uniquely done to me. And I am such a sucker for a slow burn romance! The tension, the build up. ugh! I love it!

If you love any of these tropes, you'll enjoy this book:
*Best Friends Brother
*Con Artists
*Forced Proximity
*Fake Dating
*Angst

Dishonestly Yours by Krista Ritchie and Becca Ritchie is an engaging start to their Webs We Weave series, blending elements of romance, suspense, and character growth. The story follows Phoebe and her best friend Hailey, both raised by con artists, as they attempt to start fresh in a small Connecticut town, only to find their pasts complicating their new lives. The chemistry between Phoebe and Hailey's brother Rocky drives the narrative, filled with a slow-burn tension that keeps readers invested. While the pacing begins slowly, the character development and a surprising cliffhanger leave a lasting impact, setting the stage for a highly anticipated sequel.

Dishonestly Yours by Krista Ritchie and Becca Ritchie is a thrilling dive into the world of con artists, blending humor and heart in a way that keeps you turning the pages. The story revolves around Phoebe and her best friend, Hailey, who are determined to leave their life of crime behind after a job goes awry. As they attempt to start fresh in a new town, they find themselves tangled up with Hailey's brother, Rocky, who complicates their plans in unexpected ways. The dynamic between Phoebe and Rocky is filled with tension and unresolved feelings, making for some entertaining moments as they navigate their past while trying to forge a new path.

What I particularly enjoyed about this book is how it explores themes of identity and self-worth amid the chaos of their con artist lives. Phoebe is a relatable character, grappling with her past and the way she’s been objectified due to her looks. The banter between the characters adds a fun layer to the narrative, though some readers might feel the chemistry between Phoebe and Rocky could have been developed more deeply. Overall, Dishonestly Yours offers a unique premise with plenty of twists and turns that will keep you engaged. If you're in the mood for a fun read that combines romance with a dash of mischief.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Con artist, best friends brother, grumpy X grumpy… need I go on?

Initially, this book started off slower than I was expecting, I would classify it more like a slow burn given the time it takes to reach a climax (literally lmao) with our two MCs. A lot of the story is the plot of escaping their pasts.

I enjoyed the split between past and present, learning about their ‘marks’ and what jobs they took to get them where they are now.

I thought Rocky could have literally been the worst human alive and I still would have loved him. Like, I’m a weak woman who can’t say no to a dark haired grumpy MMC… I’M WEAK!

And honestly, the hate banter between the two MCs is what had me in a literal chokehold this whole book. It made it impossible to put down. I’m nothing but a hoe for some good hate banter.

I love Krista & Becca Ritchie and this book perfectly sets us up for future books in this series. I cannot WAIT.

* ARC*
Thank you so so much for Krista & Becca Ritchie for giving me an arc of my most anticipated read!!!

OH MY GOD. Okay. Wow.
telling you that I am obsessed and love this book would be the understatement of the YEAR.
KBR are already my fav authors bc of the Addicted & Calloway sisters series that are my fav of all time.
I was SO excited to read Dishonestly Yours I couldn't wait to discover another universe from them.
And oh dear they didn't disappoint in my opinion.
I absolutely loved LOVED this new universe, the characters, the development of the story, the PLOT TWISTTTT!!!!!! And I was emotional at the little details about the Addicted & Calloway sisters series they put throughout Dishonestly Yours
Also omfg THE FLIPPING PARALLEL BETWEEN HOTHOUSE FLOWER AND DISHONESTLY YOURS AT SOME POINT GOT ME SCREAMING CRYING SHAKING
THROWING UP
It was already the most heartbreaking scene in HF but in DY, it dig the hole in my heart a lot deeper omg

THE PLOT TWIST?!,!? okay i definitely wasn't expecting it and the found family made my heart so warm after it BUT IT WAS SO GOOD!!!!
phoebe & rocky were absolute babes, i loved reading their development and their (fake (eheh)) enemies-to-lovers relationship, it was so so great!
CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE ENDING?!?!?! WHERE IS BOOK 2 ALREADY???
But this book was so captivating, i couldn't stop reading it and i think it's going to be hard having to go back to reading other books when i just finished this one and im still SO into it fo also i can't wait to own the paperback and add it to my KBR collection

4.5⭐️

What an incredible beginning to a series you’re bound to love!! I didn’t expect to enjoy this book as much as I did. From the characters, to the found family, to the romance, and even the flashbacks of their past… I loved it all. 💖

Each and every one of the characters had so much complexity to them and were so beautifully written. I even felt for the side characters in this story that barely had any page time. Krista and Becca Ritchie’s ability to write such a well rounded character is incredible. I have yet to read the Addicted series, but you can sure bet I will be now.

Also, the romance in this book was impeccable. I was screaming at them to be together because their chemistry was undeniable even from page one. Talk about incredible banter AND a hot mmc that will have you swooning!! 🤭

One of my absolute favorite parts was the friendship/sisterly bond between Phoebe and Hailey. The lengths they would go to in order to protect each other was admirable and heartwarming. Definitely one of my favorite female friendships I’ve read about!! 🩷

This book honestly could have been a five star for me if it weren’t for some of the parts that dragged on. Don’t get me wrong, I was HOOKED to these characters, but I found some parts to be a little repetitive. However, I loved it nonetheless, and I can’t wait for book two because I feel like it’ll be even more engaging and fast paced than Dishonestly Yours. There was just a lot of back story that had to be explained in the first book which is completely understandable. ☺️

The way the book wrapped up was amazing and so intentionally left open for the second book in the series. I didn’t even realize I was on the last page, but as soon as I did, I was craving MORE. I need book two in my hands yesterday. 😌

💗 Read if you love:
- Con artist trope
- Slow burn
- Strong female friendships
- Found family

Thank you so much to Netgalley and Berkley for the opportunity to read an arc of this book!!

This book was really good. It was the first time I read a book by Krista and Becca Ritchie and I really liked it. The sizzling chemistry between Rocky and Phoebe was too good. I can't wait to read the upcoming books in this series and also finally check out their other books.

Really enjoyed this one. The cliffhanger though was rude. I feel like this is setting up for a great series and the writing was good! Was very invested in the characters.

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the ARC!

A day late for pub day but yall! This ARC was sooo good and I binged it. After DNFing another book by the author I am so glad I enjoyed this one! I think it’ll be worth the hype 👀

🕸️ notes/thoughts:
-Characters are not necessarily likeable, but they grow on you
-phoebe FMC is snarky, brilliant, speaks in code words, and is a black cat. The relationship dynamic is grumpy x grumpier for sure
-rocky: MMC, he added so much tension to the story. His vibe is “I know I am mean, now move”. You can tell hes a bad boy but he means well for the right people.
-supernatural references. Dean Winchester vibes anyone?
-con artist families, toxic family dynamics and it gave a bit of secret society vibes
- actually pretty dark with the crime and drama. Also be prepared for some “hazing” and sexual tension …
- the relationship between these two and their family history is just 😭😱
- consider researching the trigger warnings. Be ready for strong language use (relative to my other book recs!) because these characters are not exactly kind… but their inner thoughts say otherwise and you could feel how human they are despite the “flaws”
- I think I had like 75 notes and highlights throughout this book so clearly I enjoyed the ride 🍓
- I really wanna say so much more but it would spoil it.
- recommend if: you like bad boys, con artists, taboo, TENSION and in a slow burn way 🤯

Book Review! Thank you @valentine_pr_ and @kbmritchie for gifting me this book in exchange for an honest review!!! This book is out now!

Phoebe Graves grew up in a family of Con Artists along with her best friend Hailey, whose family are also con artists. Together, the two family's grew up working cons together and on the constant move to their next job. When a job goes bad, Hailey and Phoebe run away to a small town in Connecticut to get away from their life of deception. Haileys brother, on the other hand, insists on joining them. Rocky follows Hailey and Phoebe to keep an eye on them but must keep his distance from Phoebe and their messy past.

I struggled a lot with rating this book and am still not completely positive about where I land, definitely a 3.5 and above, but I figured 3.75 was a good medium. The characters in this book are definitely very flawed and kinda toxic in certain aspects and not in a way where I could relate to them much (probably cause I wasn't raised by criminal con artists lol😂) but it reminded me of how I felt when reading the Addicted and Calloway Sisters series which I felt very mixed on until getting further into the series cause there was a lot of character development that made me love & connect with those characters. I'm very excited to see where these characters go cause they are very entertaining, and I see so much potential for character growth, and the plot is very interesting. While having mixed emotions, I did enjoy this book and definitely recommend! I'm excited to see what happens in book 2!

Oh wow! This book was a total rollercoaster, both in plot and emotion. LOVED the characters, especially the brothers and sisters all together, and Phoebe and Rocky have great chemistry as MCs. Original storyline, good world-building, and damn what a cliffhanger. I can't wait for book 2.
