This is book 2 in the Lilac Lake Inn series.

In Love Between the Lines, you follow sisters Taylor, Dani and Whitney. This appears to be planned as a three book series. Each sister has chapters in the books but there is one who is mainly focused on. In Love Between the Lines, Taylor is the focus. She is a writer who is not on the same page as her new editor. They are forced to work together and the feelings that were lacking begin to show.

I did enjoy Love Between the Lines but I wish each sister got their own book. It was a bit much and took away from Taylor’s story.

A sweet book about an author who writes sweet books and is struggling to import more depth into the story and the characters. And then finds that her story mimics her own life.
Lilac Lake is the story book American Town. Very cute and full of festivals where everyone participates and friendships flourish and help is always freely given.
This is only one of a series. So if you like this book, then there is more to read. For myself, I found it a little too sweet and self justifying. I would edit it differently...

Thank you to Netgally, the publishers, and Judith Keim

When I requested this book I was unaware that it was apart of a series, one that requires you to read the previous books for this one to make sense. I am unable to read all the previous books along with this one before the publish date. Therefore, I will rate this a fair 3/5 stars and will adjust the rating and review when I am able to read all the books in the series along with this one.

I enjoyed this book even though I thought it was slow in spots. I still would recommend this book. I did feel like I was with the characters and could relate to them.

Series with a family saga are always attractive to me, even more so when the family has affection and support for each other (and isn't one of those series where one person wants to kill the other to gain advantages).
I haven't read the previous book - Dani - and even though I think about reading it someday, so far I haven't felt that it hindered the reading of Taylor's story.
Taylor is a famous writer who is going through a period of writer's block. Her last book was not well received by her own editor, which created an (interesting!) scene of rupture.
Needing to get away for a while, going to her grandmother's house, who is not in good health, in Lilac Lake, becomes welcome.
There, she meets her sisters, Dani and Whitney, women who are also successful in their careers and take advantage of this time for reflection, mutual help and new decisions.
A book about sisterhood, friendship and self-discovery.
4 stars

Love Between the Lines is the second book in Judith Keim’s Lilac Lake Inn series. Youngest Gilford sister, author Taylor, is the focus of this story. Half sister to Dani (Love by Design main character) and Whitney, Taylor envies their blond, blue eyed beauty. But Taylor has a dark beauty of her own which is rapidly seen when her infuriating editor Thompson C. (Cooper) Walker comes to town.

Having insulted his popular author by his comments, Cooper has been directed by the publisher to work one-on-one with Taylor and told that he needed to make the collaboration happen if he wanted to move forward in the company. As they work together there are unexpected twists and turns, some positive, some not so much, that lie ahead creating a lovely story.

I did enjoy this novel and look forward to the third in the series. I do recommend this book

Three sisters are in a a resort town to refurbish a cottage left by their grandmother under the condition that someone of them must live in it for six months of the year. Dani was the subject of the first book, and is happily engaged to a local construction owner and is an interior decorator. Whitney is a well known screen actress in between shows, and Taylor is an author, whose latest book has been savagely criticized by Cooper, her new editor. The book is about building relationships between sisters, and Taylor getting one her writing block and entering into a romantic relationship with Cooper. For Whitney's story to finish, there will need to be a sequel. I had not read the first one, but this one works as a stand alone. A good beach read. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc and no pressure for a positive review.

"Love Between the Lines" by Judith Keim is the second book in a series, and I have read the first one before this. The story takes place in Lilac Lake and follows the three Gilford sisters: Dani, Whitney, and Taylor. Taylor, the youngest sister, is the main character in this book. Even if you haven't read the first book, this one can be read as a standalone.

Like most authors, Taylor is shy and insecure despite her success as a writer. When Taylor receives an email from her new editor, Thompson C. Walker, her insecurities come to the forefront. However, as the story progresses, Taylor begins to assert herself and her independence in her career.

Dani and Brad are engaged. They are doing well as the renovations on their cottage are progressing smoothly. Meanwhile, Dani helps one of her sisters during a difficult time, which helps to reconnect their family bond.

Whitney has left Tinsel Town and is finding her place in the local community. With the help of some locals, she is getting more involved and even has a dream of starting a drama group. However, a phone call will soon shake Whitney's world and make her reevaluate her past and future.

When the editor arrives in town, Taylor initially wants nothing to do with Cooper. However, after talking with her agent, Taylor decides to try to work out their work issues. As they get to know each other and work together to make her book the best she has written so far, they both start to have different feelings surface between them.

I am excited to read the next book in the series and find out if Whitney will get her happy ending.

I really loved Book 2 in this series. The story of Taylor and Cooper, which I really loved . The situation with Whitney dealing with Zane's death very sad but this happens in today's society and made a great point in the books as to not getting help with your addiction. Dana and Brad well you just enjoy how much they are in love.. There is definitely the small town connection there. A GREAT READ. Start with the first one and continue.

Love Between the Lines by Judith Keim gives you the feeling that everything will be okay. Even though there is heartache, these sisters get through it and come out stronger.

Taylor is excited about her grandmother’s cottage in the close-knit town of Lilac Lake, which she has left to her and her sisters, Dani and Whitney. She needs a quiet place to write since her editor just told her she needs a soul bearing relationship if she is to be credible with her love story. Taylor is not experienced in love which makes it even more challenging. Her editor, Cooper, is sent to help her write her story. At first, she is resentful, but it does not take much time for her to realize he’s not so bad. I love the town of Lilac Lake that embraces the folks and finds activities to bring people together. Cooper settles right in and is enjoyed by everyone. Whitney’s television star boyfriend gave another depth to this story. Dani and her fiancé were also strong characters. It was nice to see the relationship between Cooper and Taylor grow to be fulfilling for both. Great story and characters.

This is such a charming book. It was neat to read about the editing side of writing a book. More clues was uncovered about the ghost in the house. I love the relationship between the three sisters. The writing is wonderful. I love the back and forth dialogue. I’m looking forward to Whitney’s story. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through Net Galley.

I enjoyed the second book of this series. Love Between the Lines focuses on Taylor, an author who is struggling with her new book. When her new editor Cooper sends her an email with suggestions for edits and insinuates that she has never had a meaningful relationship, she loses her confidence. While Cooper was correct, it hurt Taylor. They were instructed to fix their working relationship by the publisher and her agent.
Meanwhile, Whitney and Zane break up after his drug use spirals. She leaves LA and rumors fly. When tragedy strikes, Whitney has to return to LA.
I am still confused by the ghost and the box of baby things. Hopefully we will learn more soon. I am enjoying the characters and look forward to the next book. I received an advance copy of this book from NetGalley and am leaving this review voluntarily.

I enjoyed this book from the beginning to the end. The sisters in these books are so real to me as I read about them and their lives. Every sister has a life story to tell, and the stories all blend together.
This one was slightly focused on Taylor and her story. Taylor is an author, and she has gotten stalled on the book she is now writing. Her agent tells her she needs help with this book to avoid issues with the publishers.
This brings an editor to her to see what he can do to help her make the book better. Taylor did not hit it off with Cooper, but she did know this was what had to happen to get things moving.
Judith Keim has written a great book to add to this series and I recommend this one to readers. The Lilac Lake Inn is a wonderful series that will fill you with so many emotions as you read them.
Thank you Netgalley, Judith Keim and Wild Quail Publishing for the ARC
Love Between The Lines.
This is my personal review.

Much like one of the plots in the story, this book could use a lot more editing and revision. What on earth was the publisher thinking? First, you're dropped directly into book two without a lot of info about book one and it's poorly done. It seems like this story is going to be about Taylor, the youngest sister, but instead, it's about all 3 sisters and 1950's stylings of the town. Taylor is described as young and naïve and comes across exactly that way. However, she's already a successful novelist with her own condo in NYC but she's struggling to create characters and a story for a new book that seems more like its a debut. It's as if a whole chapter got edited out. She's got no relationship history of her own and has no idea how to write about characters falling in love - but she's already an established writer. Of what? No answer there. Suddenly she's in love with the guy she was insanely over-sensitive about and yet they are both so immature that it makes no sense for them to be together.

Then there are the crazy side plots: ghost in a cottage with an old wedding dress and baby clothes in storage. Or how about the insane ex-sister-in-law of another character who is throwing herself at men and sneaking around in rooms at the assisted living facility she works in? Taylor catches this woman alone in her grandmother's room and doesn't immediately report it to the staff or tell her sisters?

I wasted my time so you don't have to.
