Set in a luxury resort on the coast of Georgia, Summers at the Saint weaves together tradition, scandal, and mystery. The St. Cecelia, affectionately known as “the Saint,” is a beloved landmark hotel with a storied reputation. Traci Eddings, the widowed owner, faces staff shortages, financial troubles, and a greedy brother-in-law who wants her to fail. Enlisting a motley crew of summer help, including the daughter of her estranged best friend, Traci embarks on a mission to restore the hotel’s glory days. But secrets from the past threaten to surface, and tragedy strikes, pushing Traci to her limits.
Mary Kay Andrews infuses warmth, humor, and twists into this beach read. With depth and heart, Summers at the Saint delivers a satisfying resolution that keeps readers turning pages.

What an awesome summer read! Friendship, romance, and a little bit of mystery! The MFC runs the saints resort and brings in new summer stuff. When one of them turns up dead, the other friends believe it could have been a murder. The book has multiple POV's and quite a bit of characters but I think it flows well together. The epilogue was 🤌 and exact what we needed for this book!
A fun sweet read! Highly recommend.
Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for my ARC.
Probably my favorite book of hers yet! I loved the diversity of characters. The audio was great and I loved that there was suspense in addition to the love story. A great beach read!
The author and title of this book drew me in, because I adore her work. it seemed like it would be a great light pre-summer read. It was a great read, but definitely deeper and more substantive than I anticipated and I enjoyed every moment of it. Family drama, financial issues, deceit, awful in-laws, secrets, betrayals, questions about a long ago death, interlopers, a current death/murder, unseen forces and a clear line between the haves and have nots all lead to a wonderful read.
I enjoyed this read about an exclusive resort on the Georgia coast. Since I read it on vacation, it had a great vacationy beach vibe. I liked the main character, Traci, and thought it was a great summer read. As promised it was full of mystery, scandal, and intrigue and went in directions I didn’t foresee. It had its share of family drama and reminded me a lot of The Last Summer at the Golden Hotel. Great read for the summer!
“if what you’re doing doesn’t terrify you, you’re not doing it right.”
St. Cecelia, a landmark hotel, has it all! it’s the place everyone dreams of being a member..however, if you’re from the coast of Georgia, you’re either a Saint or an Ain’t. if you’re an Ain’t, you’re trying to become a Saint, and that’s just what Traci Eddings has done.
throughout the book, we follow many characters from various walks of life, navigating adult life and creating friendships. a murder breaks out and suddenly it’s every man for themselves..
MKA has again, written an intriguing summer read that has the perfect amount if romance and mystery.
a very quick paced book that has you hooked from page one and doesn’t let go until the end! at times, it was hard for me to keep up with so many characters, but as i got more into the story, the transition from character to character was easier!
the pacing, the writing, and the character development were so good, and made me feel like i was in the story too!
overall, this was my favorite MKA book!
Another summer beach read but with extortion, lies and murder. Family drama is a big theme here, with new friendships forged and old alliances tested. Who could have possibly killed this sweet young woman and why? Try to guess, but bet you can’t! Thanks to #Netgalley for the ARC.
thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the eARC!
Summers at the Saint tells the story of Traci Eddings. She grew up an average teenager working at a prestigious resort. She ends up marrying the son of the hotel’s owner, and inherits the hotel when he dies. Struggling with a decline in business, Traci is also faced with an out of towner snooping around trying to solve a drowning that occurred at the pool while she was life guarding twenty years ago.
I can see how this book would be appealing to some readers, but it was not my cup of tea. The plot was very slow, and I was not attached to any of the characters. I kept waiting for something shocking to happen, but it just didn’t. There were a lot of plot points and none of them were really developed enough to make them important.
I’m not sure if Mary Kay Andrews’ other books read the same, but if you’re a fan of low stakes mysteries this might be a good read for you! I would like to try another one of this authors book to see how it goes.
I was very excited to receive this ARC so I have to admit to being a bit of disappointed. Overall, the story definitely didn't knock my socks off. And while it was a decent read that contained an interesting beach side resort as a locale, a murder mystery, family intrigue and a little touch of romance, there was just too much going on to really enjoy the experience.
Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for this advance copy.
Loved the details of this story! I could truly imagine standing at The Saint, meeting the characters, and feeling the tension between the in-laws family! I loved the twists, but appreciated not all the gory details of the death or drowning.
Summers at the Saint....Mary Kay Andrews...the perfect summer read-maybe? I wanted to love this book. I wanted to tell everyone you must read this for the summer. But it just didn't happen.
Poor girl from the "wrong side of the bridge" ends up marrying the son of the rich hotel resort owner. Said son passes away (previous to the story), resort is in financial trouble, summer is about to start. Dysfunctional family dynamics, a resort being run by employees who are cheating it every chance they get, and killing off people who are in the way. It was ok, it naturally ends well, but just wasn't all that I was hoping for. I did think to try to re-read just to see if maybe the timing wasn't right, but by chapter 2 I just can't take reading this one again.
Clearly others love it, so do feel free to read for yourself!

This was a quintessential beach read with romance, mystery, and a beautiful setting. There was a point about 30% in where I felt that the foreshadowing became a little much, and the villains here were a little flat, but it was an engaging story.
Thank you to the publisher - I received a complimentary eARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This one was really interesting and I really enjoyed our main character, Traci. I loved the rich people drama of it all and the messy wealthy family saga aspect to the story. It did feel like it dragged on a little bit too much and some of it could have been cut out but otherwise I enjoyed it! I can't believe I haven't read a book by Mary Kay Andrews before and I definitely plan to read more soon!
Have a beach trip coming soon and need some summer reads recommendations? Look no further this is the perfect book for the occasion! I absolutely enjoyed every second of reading this! Had everything I loved in a book, mystery, drama, romance. Grab this book if you haven’t yet, go I won’t regret it!
I was so thrilled to have the opportunity to read Mary Kay Andrews' newest beach read!
From the first chapter, I was buckled in for an entertaining ride as each character's story was introduced and woven into one another's. The character development was spot on, the plots (multiple!!!) were well executed, and I was trying to solve the "who dun it" until the reveal!
As I read this book, I kept picturing each of these characters and the gorgeous property of The Saint. It feels like a perfect book-to-Netflix move or limited series. I'd love a little epilogue or second book to make this a series!
Thank you so much to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the opportunity to review this digital advanced reader's copy in exchange for my honest opinions!

Welcome to the St. Cecelia, a landmark hotel on the coast of Georgia, where traditions run deep and scandals run even deeper. . . .
Everyone refers to the St. Cecelia as “the Saint.” If you grew up coming here, you were “a Saint.” If you came from the wrong side of the river, you were “an Ain’t.” Traci Eddings was one of those outsiders whose family wasn’t rich enough or connected enough to vacation here. But she could work here. One fateful summer she did, and married the boss’s son. Now, she’s the widowed owner of the hotel, determined to see it return to its glory days, even as staff shortages and financial troubles threaten to ruin it. Plus, her greedy and unscrupulous brother-in-law wants to make sure she fails. Enlisting a motley crew of recently hired summer help—including the daughter of her estranged best friend—Traci has one summer season to turn it around. But new information about a long-ago drowning at the hotel threatens to come to light, and the tragic death of one of their own brings Traci to the brink of despair.
Traci Eddings has her back against the pink-painted wall of this beloved institution. And it will take all the wits and guts she has to see wrongs put to right, to see guilty parties put in their place, and maybe even to find a new romance along the way.
I didn’t realize this was also going to be a murder mystery/thriller read (sort of), along with romance, but I enjoyed it. Man, Traci’s family really sucks. I didn’t care for any of them at all, except her niece. This isn’t necessarily a summer read, but it was a pleasant, quick read, and I liked the romantic pairing amidst all the other things going on. The food descriptions from the new chef made me hungry!
Mary Kay Andrews is a bestselling author. Summers at the Saint is her newest novel.

Mary Kay Andrew’s at her finest!!! This book had it all. I’m not usually a mystery reader but Mary Kay has a way of dragging me into the story’s and I can’t put it down. Loved this book so much.
Wow! What a ride! This was a great book to take on vacation with a suspenseful mystery set in a luxurious Southern hotel with a hint of second chance romance. My favorite way to start the summer is with a new book from MKA and SUMMER'S AT THE SAINT didn't disappoint.
Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the advanced digital copy of the book!
Thank you NetGalley and St Martin’s Press for the ARC of Summers at the Saint by Mary Kay Andrews.
First and foremost, if you read and enjoy Mary Kay Andrews’ books, this one is as good as any others. A bit of suspense/mystery with a touch of romance blooming. Can’t get better than that. Read this one at the perfect time as summer is approaching. Just the right mood setting for thinking about beach trips, hopefully sans murders or attempts 🤨. The characters in this book, Traci, Whelan, Livvy, Felice are of different ages but you can feel connected to all of them which is just one of the many things I love about Andrews’ books. Trust me, pic this one up and give it a try!!
