This may be my favorite #MKA book yet! Dare I say?

I was honored to have read an early copy.

I love the creative cast Mary Kay created for what’s another of her five star reads!
The character development & introduction of the key players individually at the beginning is really great! As the story further unraveled, pieces of each character were peeled back to learn more than we originally knew in the beginning.

I adored the characters, Parrish & Olivia. I especially loved the bond I share with Parrish of watching Friends episodes at night trying to fall asleep.

Thrown into this enchanting summer read is a murder that rocked me.

I must admit, I’d be an “ain’t!”

Told with #MaryKayAndrew’s warmth, humor, knack for twists, & eye for delicious detail about human nature, #SummersattheSaint is a #beachread with depth & heart.

Thank you so much to Mary Kay Andrews, St Martins Press, Macmillan audio and NetGalley for my advance copy & audiobook! All opinions are my own.

This was another summer page-turner from Mary Kay Andrews. It starts out by introducing one character after another, and at first, I couldn’t see where the story was going. But suddenly it was all about the layers of relationships, a long-ago drowning accident, questions, secrets, and scandals. I couldn’t put it down.

The story takes place at “The Saint,” an upscale resort officially known as “St. Cecillia,” located on the Georgia coast. Family-owned and operated, the hotel is in the midst of financial troubles and staff shortages. The newest staff members, fans of true-life murder podcasts, begin investigating a suspicious death as well as questionable product issues on the hotel property. The plot thickens and kept me on the edge of my seat.

Andrews offers clues, twists, and suspense, a variety of bad guys and dangerous situations as well as revealing secrets from over 20 years ago. All the puzzle pieces fit together by the last page, and there’s even a nice bit of romance, too.

This is a summer mystery/thriller that’s a perfect beach read.

Looking for a drama, scandal, murder, detective type vibes?

This one checks all those boxes.

Initially I requested this one because I thought it would be an easy light beach read, but it is heavy and packed full of drama.

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for my E-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Happy pub day to Mary Kay Andrews and Summers at the Saints! Thank you to St. Martin’s Press for allowing me to read 📖 this book for an honest review!

📅 Tuesday, May 7, 2024 was the pub date for Summers at the Saint. 📅

I do love a good Mary Kay Andrews read. She is on my auto-buy and auto-read lists. From a girl born and raised in the south, I can confirm that she captures southern flare beautifully in each and every work!

Summers at the Saint did not disappoint in any capacity. I loved the typical southern appeal with Mary Kay’s splash of mystery and whodunnit. It’s the perfect summer read. As a matter of fact, I suggest that you read it poolside with your favorite cocktail!

Everyone in Georgia knows The Saint Cecelia as “The Saint”. It draws the wealthiest clientele and historically has had a highly competitive hiring process. However, The Saint has struggled financially over the past few years and they are faced with offering enhanced employee benefits such as onsite housing. The Saint is the best place to vacation and work. Every summer is sinfully sweet except the two in which deaths happened on the property. It’s amazing to see who knows what and who is connected to one another. What other shady happenings can be happening right under the owner’s nose? Pick up the book to find out. It’s definitely worth the read and may even surprise you a time or two!

Summers, secrets, and...golf carts make for quite the page turning, mystery set at a resort steeped in tradition. Not the rom com I was expecting from Mary Kay Andrews, BUT I loved it! Suspense is a main theme in this fun read but not the dark and scary kind. A light summer mystery that'll keep you guessing till the end!

Summary: “Everyone refers to the St. Cecelia as “the Saint.” If you grew up coming here, you were “a Saint.” If you came from the wrong side of the river, you were “an Ain’t.” Traci Eddings was one of those outsiders whose family wasn’t rich enough or connected enough to vacation here. But she could work here. One fateful summer she did, and married the boss’s son. Now, she’s the widowed owner of the hotel, determined to see it return to its glory days, even as staff shortages and financial troubles threaten to ruin it. Plus, her greedy and unscrupulous brother-in-law wants to make sure she fails. Enlisting a motley crew of recently hired summer help―including the daughter of her estranged best friend―Traci has one summer season to turn it around. But new information about a long-ago drowning at the hotel threatens to come to light, and the tragic death of one of their own brings Traci to the brink of despair.
Traci Eddings has her back against the pink-painted wall of this beloved institution. And it will take all the wits and guts she has to see wrongs put to right, to see guilty parties put in their place, and maybe even to find a new romance along the way. Told with Mary Kay Andrew’s warmth, humor, a knack for twists, and eye for delicious detail about human nature, Summers at the Saint is a beach read with depth and heart.
This story is more than just a summer escape. This is a story of empowerment, healing, and community spirit. It’s perfect for those who love their beach reads with a side of danger and soul. Mary Kay Andrews has once again proven her ability to blend humor, mystery, and emotion into a story that resonates well after the last page is turned. I always think I don’t want to read any more of her books, I’ve read so many, but then I pick it up and am so glad I did. They are just fun and easy and she writes a great story every time.

Traci Eddings has been through tough times. First, she dealt with the tragic loss of her husband. Then, she took full control over the Saint resort and hotel. Traci came from humble beginnings and has worked really hard to make the Saint a destination for families. After gathering a new, top notch crew, summer begins. But of course, a summer at the Saint can’t happen without its challenges.
I was honestly not expecting to happen what happened. Lots of crazy (and semi unbelievable and too many) things start happening. This book dragged on but it was an enjoyable summer read. Would be great for the beach.

This one is a great summery read, with a little mystery and intrigue. There are a lot of POVs and people to keep track of, but it didn’t bother me too much. The book also seemed a bit long and the epilogue seemed a little rushed, but I know what the author was going for. I went into the book blind, and it wasn’t at all what I was expecting (but not in a bad way)! I didn’t really figure everything out until the last second, because everything kind of plodded along at a steady pace and then, bam, all the action escalated super fast. All in all, a solid summery read, but not a favorite.

After coming off reading two other cozy mysteries that kind of bombed.. this was a pleasant surprise. I loved the characters. I was kept guessing until the end. I didn't want to put this down.

Thank you @netgalley for the Advanced Reader Copy of Summers at the Saint, by Mary Kay Andrews. To be honest, I was not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. The Saint is a fancy hotel in the South, run by Traci, a former “Aint” (you are either a Saint or you Aint). She married one of the owners, and now runs the place after her husband died. The daughter of her husbands brother, who is working at the hotel for the summer is murdered and lots of things start to go wrong. There is intrigue, romance, and fun scenery. Despite the murder, this would be a good beach read. I enjoyed this one and flew through it. #summersatthesaint #marykayandrews #bookstagram #netgalley #beachread #lovetoread #readersofinstagram #bookloversofinstagram #takeapagefrommybook #advancedreadercopy

An engaging mystery and romance story. The characters are well developed but there are quite a few to keep track of. From the very beginning it grabs you and you don't want to put the story down!

I can always count on MK Andrews for a great read. I love not knowing where a book is going. And I was surprised by the twists with this one. She always transports me to her book locations. The way she describes everything makes me want to visit and vacation. This is a perfect beach read. Thanks for the advanced copy!

Summers at the Saint was a great way to spend Memorial Day weekend. Was it slightly ridiculous? Yes. Did I need to read every word super close? No. Was it what I wanted in the moment? Yes.

MKA brings us to a private resort which felt part country club part time share where I honestly didn't totally understand the logistics of this place but maybe it makes more sense to people from the south. There was a hint of romance, some murder and crime and honestly just a lot of characters and shenanigans. You have Tracie, she's in charge after her late husband dies in a plane crash. You've got Liv ad Felice, new workers at the resort. You've got Parrish, Tracie's niece. You've got Ric, the worsssssst brother in law to Tracies ever. And honestly the list goes on and on.

Sit back, pour yourself a glass of wine or sweet tea and just let go of reality.

Set in a luxury resort on the coast of Georgia, Summers at the Saint weaves together tradition, scandal, and mystery. The St. Cecelia, affectionately known as “the Saint,” is a beloved landmark hotel with a storied reputation. Traci Eddings, the widowed owner, faces staff shortages, financial troubles, and a greedy brother-in-law who wants her to fail. Enlisting a motley crew of summer help, including the daughter of her estranged best friend, Traci embarks on a mission to restore the hotel’s glory days. But secrets from the past threaten to surface, and tragedy strikes, pushing Traci to her limits.

What an awesome summer read! Friendship, romance, and a little bit of mystery! The MFC runs the saints resort and brings in new summer stuff. When one of them turns up dead, the other friends believe it could have been a murder. The book has multiple POV's and quite a bit of characters but I think it flows well together. The epilogue was 🤌 and exact what we needed for this book!

Probably my favorite book of hers yet! I loved the diversity of characters. The audio was great and I loved that there was suspense in addition to the love story. A great beach read!

The author and title of this book drew me in, because I adore her work. it seemed like it would be a great light pre-summer read. It was a great read, but definitely deeper and more substantive than I anticipated and I enjoyed every moment of it. Family drama, financial issues, deceit, awful in-laws, secrets, betrayals, questions about a long ago death, interlopers, a current death/murder, unseen forces and a clear line between the haves and have nots all lead to a wonderful read.

I enjoyed this read about an exclusive resort on the Georgia coast. Since I read it on vacation, it had a great vacationy beach vibe. I liked the main character, Traci, and thought it was a great summer read. As promised it was full of mystery, scandal, and intrigue and went in directions I didn’t foresee. It had its share of family drama and reminded me a lot of The Last Summer at the Golden Hotel. Great read for the summer!

“if what you’re doing doesn’t terrify you, you’re not doing it right.”

St. Cecelia, a landmark hotel, has it all! it’s the place everyone dreams of being a member..however, if you’re from the coast of Georgia, you’re either a Saint or an Ain’t. if you’re an Ain’t, you’re trying to become a Saint, and that’s just what Traci Eddings has done.
throughout the book, we follow many characters from various walks of life, navigating adult life and creating friendships. a murder breaks out and suddenly it’s every man for themselves..

MKA has again, written an intriguing summer read that has the perfect amount if romance and mystery.
a very quick paced book that has you hooked from page one and doesn’t let go until the end! at times, it was hard for me to keep up with so many characters, but as i got more into the story, the transition from character to character was easier!
the pacing, the writing, and the character development were so good, and made me feel like i was in the story too!
overall, this was my favorite MKA book!
