Traci Eddings was working as a lifeguard at the famous St. Cecelia, when she met her husband, who happened to be the owners son. Now, her husband has been gone for 5 years, killed in a tragic plane accident, she is trying to revive the Saint to its former glory. She is working with a staff shortage, so she brings in her Niece and daughter of her former best friend. Then, a terrible tragedy occurs that opens up old events that had happened at the hotel.

This is a great beach read! Ms. Andrews has created wonderful characters along with suspense with a little romance thrown in. The perfect combination! I highly recommend this one!

Thank you to the Publisher and NetGalley for the ARC in return for my honest review.

MKA does it again with the perfect summer read. A little bit of Romance, a little bit of mystery, this book had me turning pages so fast! When the Saint Cecelia is readying to open for the summer, CEO, Traci Eddings, is frantically trying to hire staff for the luxury resort. But the problem is normal people who want the jobs can't afford to live in the resort town. Determined to make this summer work, she creates a dorm for employees. But when one of the Saint's employees winds up dead, a mystery man shows up asking about a hush hush drowning from 20 years ago, and the financial situation looking dire, Traci is in over her head.

Pick this book up! You won't regret it!

When I first start reading MKA, in the beginning I’m always like NOOoOoOoo there are so many characters to keep track of but she always makes you feel like you’re actually in the world of her characters by the time the book is over. Plus Kathleen McInerney doing the different voices is…like I said, nothing short of brilliant!

I was expecting a light summer read, but got more than I bargained for in this story. Traci and her employees at The Saint are an engaging cast. After her husband's death a few years ago, Traci took over his responsibilities at the family hotel, and it doesn't seem like she has much room in her life for much else, including friends. With the exception of her niece Parrish, she doesn't have any family that she wants anything to do with either.

But something nefarious is happening at the hotel, and it's big enough to kill for. As Traci begins to track down a killer and a thief, she rekindles old friendships, and makes new ones.

This is an entertaining summer read with engaging characters and a tightly written plot.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Mary Kay Andrews could write the dictionary and I'd read it. I love the way she crafts characters, worlds, and helps you become immersed in the story and feel as though you are part of it.

The ways you see The Saint through Traci's eyes helps feel as though you are part of it. Andrews has enough different aspects - there's always a mystery - to keep me guessing and completely entranced.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley!

Such a good mystery. The Saint is such a beautiful place, but it harbors a lot of secrets. Traci has been trying to keep things afloat since her husband's death. Things are happening and she doesn't know who she can trust. After her niece's death on the property, there were cancellations, and she isn't sure the hotel will be able to come back from all of that. It seems she has thieves, arsonists and murderers working for her. Can she get to the bottom of everything before anyone else dies?

I've checked out a few of Mary Kay Andrews' books before, and this one really caught my attention because it mixes in some suspense and mystery with the romance.
"Summers At The Saint" is all about Traci running this resort on a made-up island off the Georgia coast, Saint Cecilia. She's taken over after her husband, Hoke, passed away in a plane crash. The place used to belong to Hoke's dad, and now his brother Ric handles the money side of things. Traci's not exactly best buddies with Ric, to put it mildly.
The story kicks off with the resort struggling financially after the pandemic, and Traci's got to figure out how to turn things around. But then it takes this unexpected turn into a full-on murder mystery!

I gotta say, I didn't see that coming at all. "Summers At The Saint" kept me hooked with its mix of romance and a dash of thrill!

This book grabbed my attention immediately. I was quickly invested in the characters and stories of each of them. I really enjoyed the suspense and mystery in this book, and thought I had it figured out only to be led a different way. It kept me reading and wanting to know what happened. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an eARC of this book.

I sunk my teeth into Mary Kay Andrews latest book about the Saint Hotel and all the characters and drama at the hotel. This was a joy to read and I was shocked about the mystery and the victim! This was quintessential Andrews: a beach location, humor, well drawn characters and an absorbing fun read. Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC!

I loved Summers at the Saint by Mary Kay Andrews which comes out today!! Thanks to St. Martin's Press for an advanced copy!

Summers at the Saint is your classic MKA with a great summer setting, fabulous characters and a little bit of a mystery. I loved reading about the resort St. Cecilia and Traci as she fights to return the resort to what she knows it can be. The characters were fun and I also liked the flashbacks to the Traci's first summer at the Saint. I don't want to give too much of this one away!

MKA's book equals summer to me and I wish I was reading this sitting pool or ocean side! I really loved this one and especially love the cover! 😍

This is one to include in your summer reading list!

SUMMERS AT THE SAINT, by Mary Kay Andrews, is longer than most of her books, with 448 pages jam-packed full of murder mystery, sparks of romance, picturesque beach scenes, and generation upon generation of family drama.

Now alone, the new widow Traci Eddings, is trying to manage the St. Cecilia resort, an exclusive hotel on the coast of Georgia, but it is threatening to sink. I love this character, a woman pushing through life’s storms and confronting challenges, from troubles with the staff, complaints from guests, and even family betrayal. The reader moves quickly into the tale, with necessary backstory that is fed into the narrative and dialogue in a natural way. And as the story progresses, the drama gets deeper and dirtier. The writing is superb, as MKA artfully crafts a multi-layered plot of both mystery and romance. Through the use of multiple points of view and a series of important flashbacks, she hooks her readers and keeps them engaged in the story.

What separates this book from every other romance novel on the shelf is the fullness of the characters. The reader joins their lives and knows their inner most thoughts, their secrets, any motivations, and even their evil plots. Andrews brings these characters to life, making it impossible not to become emotionally connected to their lives. I love books with strong female characters, and this one fills the bill. No one can accurately capture the power of women like Mark Kay Andrews.

This is the kind of Women’s Fiction that hits all the right buttons for me. Another great story by MKA which takes place on a fictional island off the shores of Georgia. The Saint was an exquisite and exclusive resort where this story takes place over one summer. It has suspense, murder and mayhem, a little romance thrown in, and some good friendships. All the characters were well formed so that it was easy to make this a “movie in my mind”. I could see the events as they unfolded and I cheered on Traci and Whelan, Libby and Felipe, and hated on some of the other characters. All in all, a great read.

Growing up in a middle class section of Georgia, Traci Eddings family couldn’t afford to spend their summers at the Saint. The St. Cecelia – or the Saint as known by locals – was a luxury hotel that catered to a very wealthy clientele. If you weren’t part of this class, then you were known as an Ain’t. Traci Eddings was most definitely an Ain’t.

Twenty years passes in the blink of an eye, and Traci is currently running the Saint. After the death of her husband, Traci found herself running the luxury hotel but finds it harder to keep afloat than one could imagine. Determined to implement new ideas that would keep the Saint profitable for years to come, Traci finds more obstacles than she could imagine. With a murder on the grounds of the hotel, things became a lot more complicated at the Saint. Can Traci find a way to save the hotel that brought her husband into her life?

Summers at The Saint is a women’s fiction novel that muddles a little murder mystery with a little bit of romance. The novel is laid out in multiple points of view. The old resort feel of this book allows readers to gain perspective of the hotel through the eyes of the characters. I found the need to unravel the details of the occurrences at the hotel to be layered in complexity. I loved trying to figure out what was going to happen next. This is a wonderful summer read that fans of Mary Kay Andrews will not want to miss.

I was looking forward to reading this as I've enjoyed Mary Kay's previous books. Sadly, this was not as good. The setting was lovely - who wouldn't enjoy a beachside resort with all the trimmings? - but there was so much going on and far too many characters.

Mary Kay Andrews did it again! Summers at the Saint is my new favorite of hers and definitely in my top 10 reads of 2024! This book is the perfect beach read with multiple POVs, mystery, twists, romance, a quintessential beach resort setting, and family drama.

Traci Eddings and her best friend Shannon spent their teen years working at The Saint as lifeguards during the summer. The Saint is an exclusive hotel where only the wealthy stay. Traci and Shannon were definitely not in that class, but they were happy to work there.

While working one summer, Traci meets the boss’ son Hoke. They fall in love and marry. They were very happy until tragedy strikes. Traci is now a widow and owns the hotel. Not everyone is happy about this turn of events especially her brother-in-law, Ric. He is going to do everything he can to get rid of Traci. Meanwhile, The Saint has hit hard times and Traci vows to make it a success once again. She must overcome the obstacles that continually get in her way.

I’m a huge Mary Kay Andrews fan and this one did not disappoint. It might even be my favorite of her books. She brought me right into the story and I felt as if I was there. It’s the perfect book to kick off my beach-read season.

I loved Traci. I thought she was a strong character and never backed down from a challenge. The supporting cast is, also, strong. The bad guys are really bad, while the good guys touch all the emotions to bring this story to life.

This story touches all the emotions and deals with so many different topics such as betrayal, losing a spouse, rebuilding your life and old secrets that just won’t die. There's also an intriguing "whodunit" along with a dash of romance. All of this mixed together captivated me from page one until the very end.

I’m anxiously waiting for another book from this author. I may even go back and see if there are any on her backlist that I haven’t read. She’s a master storyteller and I’m already missing these characters. It earns a spot on my best of 2024 list.
