This was a 5 star book for SURE! I loved the pace of the story, the mystery involved that I really didn't figure out until the end (the best kind), the behind the scenes details of a resort....

I loved feeling Traci's stress and confusion - it was so palpable.

Recommending to everyone - this was a winner for sure!

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this advanced readers copy of the latest Mary Kay Andrews book. I always look forward to a new MKA book. This one is a mix of summer resort and mystery/ thriller. It took a while to get past a lot of unlikeable characters and get engaged in the plot but when I was hooked, I was thoroughly hooked and couldn’t put it down. As it turned out I wasn’t wrong about some of those unlikeable characters.

Mary Kay Andrews is one of my favorite authors and I am grateful to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review her book before the publication date. Summers at the Saint was a fun fast read, a mystery with a bit of romance. A perfect beach read for the summer!

Summers at the Saint by Mary Kay Andrews. I've enjoyed books by her that I've read in the past and this book didn't disappoint me. It did take me awhile to get into but once I did it kept me intrigued and wanting to find out what happened next. I would totally recommend Summers at the Saint and other books by Mary Kay Andrews.

I just loved this. It had so much humor, fun, romance. A great cast of characters that you root for. I loved the hotel setting, it was almost like a character itself. Highly recommend! Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for approving me to read and review this ARC. I cant wait to read more from this author.

This was perfect for a beach read. You can feel that beachy breeze with the descriptions of The Saint. It’s a mystery and beach read with a little romance thrown in too. Overall I enjoyed it. I do think it was a little long and it got a bit confusing in the beginning with all of the characters. It took a while to draw me in but once it started getting interesting it was good!

Mary Kay Andrews is a must-buy and must-read for me, so I was so excited to read her latest.

This book was quite an emotional rollercoaster! It had thrills, chills, family drama, a little romance, and whodunnit murders, all backed by a stunning setting.

I loved the premise of the setting - the Saint Cecilia is a beautiful, exclusive resort that is struggling financially, full of mysterious and quirky characters who all have more going on than meets the eye. I liked the idea of Traci, the widow running the hotel, trying to figure out how to keep the resort running. The book takes a twist with an unexpected murder and goes down some wild paths from there. It keeps you hooked trying to solve the various mysteries.

I will note - the cover is a little deceptive to the book’s vibe. While it appears to be a light-hearted romance, it really is a mystery/thriller with a very small bit of romance. It reminded me a lot of her earlier mysteries.

If you are looking for a twisty mystery this summer, check out this one!

Thank you to NetGalley, the Publishers, and Mary Kay Andrews for an ARC of Summers at the Saint! I’ve read a couple other Mary Kay Andrews book and have always been pleasantly impressed and all about the romance. This one I wasn’t sure how it could go and was not disappointed and absolutely addicted to the story. This had the perfect mystery and romance and a surprising twist! This book is a long one, but once you get hooked you’re flying through it. I would also love a sequel to this!! This is about the St. Cecelia, also well known as The Saint. You had to be it to be staying at The Saint. Traci always dreamed about going to The Saint, but her family wasn’t one able to stay there. One summer she gets a job there and ends up marrying Hoke Eddings, whose father owns The Saint. Years later, Traci is widowed and ends up running The Saint. After COVID, times have been rough for the resort, so Traci has to make quick decisions to keep everything running, while also having her horrible brother in law breathing down her back. Traci hires a few locals and one ends up being her old best friend’s daughter. Traci is already strained, but now the past is dredging itself up - a drowning from 20 years ago that has unanswered questions, a death, and possibly a new romance. Traci will do what she can to right the wrongs and keep her late husband’s business the resort it was always meant to be.

A story of family drama at an ocean resort. A widow is in charge of the hotel and her conniving brother in law is in charge of the land holdings as long as the elder is alive. But there is much more behind the scenes.

Summers at the Saint is my favorite from Mary Kay Andrews to date. There are a lot of characters to follow over 400+ pages but I stayed intrigued throughout. There are twists throughout the book that kept me diving in.
I loved the setting. Makes me want to head on down to Georgia! Summers at the Saint is perfect to get you in the summer mood.
Thank you to NetGalley, Mary Kay Andrews, and St. Martin's Press for this eARC in exchange for my honest review. Summers at the Saint hits shelves on May 7, 2024.

Ok we are talking about my favorite author of the genre, so what can I say? Aced it like all the other books I read.
Six year old Traci sees The Saint as a fairy castle. When she was thirteen she actually stepped into the property, as Meredith, a new girl at school invited eight girls to her birthday party. Shanon, her best friend, was not included.
The Saint Cecelia Resort has marble floors and a grand staircase. A true place they bow to one day own.
When they were teenagers they became the Saint’s lifeguards, the best life until one day seven year old Hudson drowned. Still a mystery until this day because he was a very good swimmer spending summers at the pool.
After the incident Shannon got fired and the duo of best friends stopped talking.
As the years go by Traci met Hoke Edding, her future husband, his family owned The Saint so she started working there.
After Hoke’s accident she took over the business with her brother in law and with the new summer recruits, including Shannon’s daughter, everything changes. Suspicious activities, betrayals and old mysteries come to light.
Is the perfect summer read with the perfect setting along the island resort on the Georgian Coast. Loved it!
Thank you Netgalley, Mary Kay Andrews and St Martins Press for the ARC copy.

Summers begin with MKA and I could not wait to crack the sound of this book!! Gorgeous cover!!

I was absorbed into this book with lots of family drama, old secrets, romance and a murder. Buckle up and be ready to whip thru the pages.

The setting is a resort in GA…St Cecilia or as everyone calls it…the Saint. Traci was a lifeguard at the Saint growing and now runs resort after marrying one of the sons of the owners. He was killed in an accident and she is left to run the resort. Traci has lots of ideas and this is what brings several workers to live in a dorm that Traci has built in an old building. Housing is so expensive on the island and she is trying to find ways to get good help. There will be parties, deep buried secrets will be unearthed, romance will bud and a murder will keep you guessing till the killer is revealed.

This is a very fun read and I highly suggest you preorder so you will have in your hands on 5/7. Thank you to the author and publisher for an early digital copy.

Summers at the Saint is cataloged under romance and women’s fiction. The cover is appealing and it does a good job at grasping your attention. However, this book is not what I was expecting and that is my own fault for ultimately getting my hopes up. Summers at the Saint includes mystery, suspense and a little bit of romance. It was my first read my MKA and I just couldn’t get through the entire book. I like the authors writing style though and will be checking out her other books. I wish there would have been more romance and less mystery. However, don’t let my review sway you, check it out for yourself.

Thank you NetGalley and St Martins Press for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was the second book I’ve read by MKA and so different from Bright Lights, Big Christmas. I went into this expecting a sweet romantic story in an idyllic setting and while the setting, on an island off the coast of Georgia, was indeed picturesque the story was intense with twists and turns galore!

I really enjoyed this, the mystery of “whodunit” and all the drama that ensued in the search for answers was excellent! I had some suspects figured out but one of the big reveals was definitely a surprise! 🙌🏻

I did both audio and e-book. The audio was very pleasing to listen to so all formats should work great for this one!

This was such a fun one time chat about with @wellred and @coffeebookcorner . Thanks ladies!

Big thanks to Macmillan Audio for the alc and St. Martin’s Press for the arc via Netgalley!

I enjoyed Summers at the Saint! I’ve only ever read one other Mary Kay Andrews book before (The Homewreckers), and I think I enjoyed this one even more than that! There was a little bit of everything in this book: mystery, humor, and romance! I was very surprised with where this book ended up going (in a good way)!

My main issue was that I didn’t love the dialogue at times; some of the things that the characters, especially Shannon and Traci, said just didn’t seem to match how I’d expect their characters to speak. I also felt like the romance could’ve been developed a little bit more, as it felt kind of unexpected when it started, and some of the things he did toward the end of the book just didn’t make sense to me.

Overall, I thought this book was a fun summer read! It would be especially good for fans of The Hotel Nantucket by Elin Hilderbrand and The Maid by Nita Prose.

I love Mary Kay Andrews books! They are full of great characters and good plots. I liked this one but not as much as some of her other books.

I did not enjoy this book as much as I wanted to. It was a bit slow for me and that usually turns me off from a book. It’s hard to get back into it.

Summer at the Saints was a surprising read for me. This novel did not go in the direction I anticipated it would. The initial pace was slow while the stage was being set, but once the story began, I was hooked! I was constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop. This is the perfect, poolside summer murder mystery, with an interesting mix of vibrant characters and several unexpected twists and turns. Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher of this fun and engaging read.

Loved it! Mary Kay Andrews's latest novel offers a great mix of family drama, romance, and suspense that held my interest from beginning to end. The characters are unique and well-written, the premise is intriguing and I thoroughly enjoyed the peek behind the scenes at the hospitality industry. With her trademark warmth and humor, the author weaves a compelling story, drawing on past events to plant clues to resolve a puzzling mystery. Plot twists kept me guessing all the way to the satisfying conclusion.

Go ahead and add Summers at the Saint to your to-be-read list. You won't be disappointed. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the complimentary copy. All opinions shared here are my own.
