Thank you to NetGalley and publisher St. Martin’s Press for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
Summers at the Saint takes plae at a wonderful summer resort off the coast of Georgia, and is full of family drama, a decades old mystery death, and fractured friendships begging to be renewed.
When Traci Eddings inherits the ownership of the St. Cecilia resort when her husband tragically passes away, she’s in a bit over her head but determined to succeed. At the same time she is brought back in touch with her estranged and dearest friend, Shannon. Both girls were lifeguards at the resort when they were young and tried to save a drowning young boy who, despite their herculean efforts, didn’t make it. Both were wracked with guilt – but as the story unfolds we find there may be more to it. At the same time, Traci is dealing with issues at the resort including missing merchandise, financial losses and is determined to figure out what is going on.
Mary Kay Andrews’ characters are always compelling, and written with her characteristic flair for injecting humor, drama and vulnerability into their lives. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and thought that the mystery aspect of the book was very well done. While I love a good romance, this book offers mystery with only a side bit of romance – which made it all the more compelling.
Highly recommend to fans of MKA as well as newbies. You won’t be disappointed.

I was introduced to Mary Kay Andrews in December, when my book club picked Bright Lights, Big Christmas for the month. I followed that read by quickly devouring the Santa Suit. Then I found her on instagram and discovered she wrote beach reads. I made the assumption that they would largely follow a similar arc as the Christmas books- entertaining, Hallmark-y, centering around a love story, complete with a happy ending. I requested this ARC from NetGalley expecting more of the same, but oh boy I was so very wrong. What is that saying about not judging a book by its cover?
Summers at the Saint was less Hallmark and more Lifetime mysteries. It was the best kind of chaotic with so many characters, storylines, and drama. There’s murder, deceit, complicated relationships, years old feuds, drugs, arson, grief, and new love. It reminded me of an old favorite tv show, Revenge.
Summers at the Saint comes out on May 7, 2024. Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the opportunity to read and review this ARC!

I really wanted to love this book. Mary Kay Andrews has been a fairly new-to-me author and I’ve LOVED the 4-5 of hers that I’ve read so far. Unfortunately, this one didn’t do it for me. I made it through 30% before I just couldn’t do it anymore.

Traci is trying to get The Saint hotel back in the black after her husband's death and covid. Parrish, the niece, decides to work the front desk instead of going to Europe. She keeps a notebook of suspicious complaints from the guests. Livvy is working in the restaurant, even though her mother was fired from the Saint when she was younger.
Garrett and Charles have worked for the Saint for years. KJ is forced by his father to work at the saint for the summer to see what it's like to live in the real world. Felice needs a chef job once her boyfriend steals her credit card. Felice also starts noticing weird things around the hotel when it comes to the food ordered. Suddenly, one of the employees ends up dead, and others take off to figure out why. Meanwhile, Whelan enters the picture trying to figure out why his brother drown years ago. The author does an amazing job of character development and bringing all of the storylines together. This is probably my favorite book by her. I loved it and it was sad to reach the end.

"Summers at the Saint" is a fun, easy read, providin"Summers at the Saint" is a delightful and effortless read that weaves a complex and intricate tapestry of motives, thefts, and murders. Mary Kay Andrews has always been a great author, and this book is no exception. It's a perfect summer read that offers a blend of mystery, romance, and breathtaking scenery.
Throughout the story, Andrews masterfully introduces many twists and turns that keep the readers engaged and on their toes. The book is perfect for cozy readers who enjoy a good mystery with a touch of romance and an idyllic setting.

Mary Kay Andrews does not disappoint with her latest summer novel. She describes a resort that you want to visit and a book I did not want to end. Summers at the Saint includes all of my favorite things - a little romance, a little mystery, and a beautiful setting.

Yall. Get excited! Mary Kay Andrews newest summer smash is coming May 7th and you are not going to want to miss it. It’s her best book yet (I know I say this every year but really this time it is 🤣). This book was so much fun for my Atlanta native self with school mentions of Marist (my Alma mater), Westminster and summers at the Driving Club. Even better, this entire story takes place on St. Cecilia Island which anyone from Georgia will recognize thanks to the contentious causeway closing back in the early 2000’s. Fancy resort, well heeled Atlantans, murders, affairs, arson……This book took such shocking turns for me over and over and over. I couldn’t put it down. I’ll remind everyone when it releases but do yourself and favor and pre-order it so it’s ready for your summer beach trip to The Saint. 🐚☀️🌊⛱️🏝️

I love this author’s writing. This book was 400 pages but the pages just flew by. I really liked this one. There were a lot of characters to keep up with throughout the book and the story moved along at a good pace. I can’t wait to read more from this author!
Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the arc of this book.

By Mary Kay Andrews i read "The Santa Suit" and "The Homewreckers", and there were such a fun read.
When I found out that there was an opportunity to read "Summers at the Saint",
I immediately rushed to apply for it.
Let's start from the cover, stunning, the covers of Andrews' books are all beautiful,
and make you want to buy the book without even reading the plot. Then when you start reading Andrews' books,
you understand that there really is no need to read the plot, because her books are fun and light. And they surely are must read!
"Summers at the saint" appears to be a summer read (don't judge the book by their cover, a classic,
even if the book itself has a stunning cover as this one). This story takes a rather dark turn, watch out!
We are at the St. Cecelia, also known commonly ad "The Saint". The main character is Traci, when she was young she worked at this hotel,
and little by little she climbed to the heights of the hotel, marrying the boss's son.
Some years later she loses her husband due to a plane crash. And now she became the boss.
Unfortunately, in addition to the hotel, he also inherited the duty to restore the hotel to its splendor, and to maintain the Saint’s sterling
reputation, despite the hard situation it is facing.
Above all, she also has to face her dead husband's family and, obviously, they can't stand her.
Last but not least, when she least expects it, in addition to the secrets, a corpse also resurfaces from the water.
I won't say anything else, enjoy the reading. The story is smooth, funny and full of twists. I give five stars to this story,
because it reminds me of my beloved Finlay Donovan, same vibe!
Highly recommend.
Ps let's not overlook a beautiful detail, on the cover, "novel" is written in the stars, literally. I love it!
Thanks so much to St. Martin's Publishing Group and the author for this ARC, in exchange for my honest review.

Mary Kay Andrew’s is remarkable. Book after book, she writes such fun “who done it?” stories. If you enjoy romance, cast of characters, murder and mystery, then you will enjoy this quick read.
Thank you #NetGalley, #StMartin’sPress, #MaryKayAndrews and #Summers attheStaint for the advance readers copy for my honest review.

I’m not sure how Mary Kay Andrew’s manages to write a book every year but she does! And I will continue to read and enjoy each one! I received an ARC of Summers at the Saint and I couldn’t wait to dive in!
There are a lot of characters in the beginning of the book to set things up and that was a little confusing. But then the story starting taking shape and I was pulled in. The Saint is an ode to a fogetten time of grand hotels. They are trying to stay relevant in a changing world. Traci is at the helm after the death of her husband, grandson of the owner. She grew up with the Saint in the background of her small town. She needs to hire and offer incentives to get and keep the staff she needs to open for the summer season. Thus we are introduced to the other characters in the story. There is a murder, mystery, love, and redemption in this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

This book has it all! A book that kept my attention with a little bit of beach read vibes, a little bit of murder and a touch of romance mixed in.

Mary Kay Andrews hits it out of the park again. If you are looking for a fabulous beach read or even just a book to forget about the fact that you aren't on the beach, you need to pick this up. A perfect example of why every book by her is a "must read".

Love a Mary Kay Andrew's beach read and this didn't disappoint. This book reads like a cross between a soap opera and a true crime documentary, which is the perfect combination for next to the pool with a drink in hand!
Traci Eddings goes from an "ain't" to a "saint" when she falls in love and marries one of the heirs of the exclusive St Cecelia hotel. After he passes, Traci takes over the reins of the hotel and she wants to keep the family legacy strong. She hires a wonderful crew to help her run the hotel but as summer goes on and the murders and mysteries keep building up, she has to figure out who in the hotel is sabotaging her.
With a great cast of supporting characters and lots of scandal, this book was amazing! Many thanks to NetGalley and St Martin's Press for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I love Mary Kay Andrews beach reads, I even love her Christmas stories (really loved Bright LIghts, Big Christmas). But this book is a little different--it seems to hark back to the Callahan Garrity books, but instead of a cleaning service owner, the main character is a hotel owner. The setting is wonderful, the reader can picture the cottages, the beach, the lush greenery and flowers, even Traci's dark, depressing home (filled with in-law stuff).. The characters are interesting, even the "bad guys", the friendship between Traci and her childhood friend Shannon was exciting and fulfilling to see them get back together. But the plot of this book was different from the others, it had a darker side that I did not feel with her other books and pulled at my emotions (spoiler alert) when Parrish died, I could feel Traci's despondency coming from the pages. I realized that everyone had secrets and the slow reveal of all them kept the novel moving. So, as much as I liked the "new" mystery book, I hope Ms. Andrews will still write some of her lighter beach reads and merry Christmas stories.

This was my first Mary Kay Andrew’s book that was not a Christmas novel and I absolutely loved it! I could not put it down. This book has the perfect balance of summer romance and twists that will keep you guessing. Summers at the Saint is the perfect summer vacation book, you will find yourself immersed in the lives of the staff of the exclusive Saint Cecelia hotel and its summer members. The Saint as the locals refer to it has quite a history and widowed Traci Eddings is trying to keep it thriving in a post Covid world. She convinces her niece Parrish to help her fill in for staff that have left to work at newer resorts that offer more pay and significant sign on bonuses.
Parrish soon begins to uncover things at the resort that don’t add up.
Put this book on your summer must read list and preorder it now.

This is the first time I have ever picked up a book by Mary Kay Andrew’s, so I went in blind. I did not expect a whodunnit with a full cast of characters.
When I went into this book I really expected a light rom-com beach read and it was definitely not what I got-I’m definitely not saying that’s a bad thing- I really enjoyed this read, but do feel as though it could be misleading to those who picked it up for the same reasons I did initially.
This book brought the drama, some thrills and a little mystery. You will laugh, and be on the edge of your seat all at the same time. Just be prepared for a full cast of characters with multiple points of view, and a few unexpected twists along the way.

Can MKA do anything wrong? Absolutely not, I adored this one and seriously look forward to her releases every year. I love there is always a twist of mystery and some really funky characters. This was a JOY to read!!

Thanks to St. Martin's Publishing Group and the author for this ARC, in exchange for my honest review.
This is the first book i read about Mary Kay Andrews, and i must confess, i thought it was a beach read.
I couldn't be more wrong. It's a romance mixed with a dark side, a little bit of thriller, and a dash of humor.
Traci is such a lovely main character, or is the hotel itself the truth main character?

I have read most of Mary Kay Andrews books and have always enjoyed. Although this one was labeled a beach read I found it to be more involved that her other books. The story is about a high end resort, The Saint, and the people that own it and are employed there. There are some twists and turns with a murder and trying to solve it which involves quite a few people. There are many characters in this story. While I enjoyed the story I didn't find it as satisfying as her other books.
