Unfortunately this story just didn’t work for me. The sub plots were a little too dark and not offset well with the lighter ones.

I have read several Mary Kay Andrews books, and I love her writing style. This one is particularly good. It's a twisty mystery, it has a bit of romance, and it's a quick read. I finished it in a day, because I was so caught up in each new development I just wanted to see what came next.

This was my first Mary Kay Andrews book but won't be my last. The setting is fun, the characters are well rounded, it's a good summer read with a mystery, romance and family drama.

Despite being a super popular author, this was my first read by Mary Kay Andrews and I really enjoyed it. It is full of intrigue and twists with a little bit of romance as well. I really liked the backdrop of a 5 star beach resort setting. I think the characters and the mystery are really thought out and well rounded. I loved all the descriptions of food and it made me want to visit the restaurant and have a meal there!

At first I thought I wasn't going to be able to follow along easily because we are introduced to a lot of characters in a short period of time, but they all have their own backstory which made it easier and each character has a distinct personality. I went into this book blind and I was a bit shocked with the death of one of the characters. My one gripe with this book is the length, but considering I finished it in two days, I wouldn't say it held me back at all.

This is an engaging, family-drama/mystery/suspense that will keep you engaged right until the end.

I greatly enjoyed Summers at the Saint. I was throughly engrossed in the story the whole time and was happy with the ending. If you’re looking for a nice, thought provoking spring/summer read, I’d recommend this book with no hesitation.

I loved this book!! There was so much going on and the book help my interest so much that I finished it in 2 days! The characters were somewhat annoying but there were a few to really really love! The main character, Traci, was a bit of a dimwit but I still enjoyed her character development. The hotel setting kept things very interesting!

Great new book by MKA. It has it all, suspense, drama and of course family. Spen the summer at the Saint. You won't regret it.

This was a tough read for me and took me forever to get through.

I was weary from the get-go being introduced to a new character with their own POV every chapter for the first part of the book, and then it just continued to get tangled and messy from there.

This book feels like it’s struggling with a little bit of an identity crisis — a whodunit with generations of family drama and betrayal that tried to sprinkle in romance and wrap it all up with a nice bow at the end. Because there were so many plot pieces, there wasn’t nearly enough attention given to some of the most important developments.

I also know we aren’t supposed to judge a book by its cover, but this cover definitely misses the mark in my opinion. When I view this cover I think I’m going to get a light, fun beach read, but instead its pages include things like murder, arson, theft and rape — just to name a few.

Bummed that this read wasn't what I expected.

This is my first Mary Kay Andrews book and I was pleasantly surprised. 3 stars.

I read this book in a single sitting cause the easy flow of the writing combined eith. There’s many characters in this book and I found it hard to keep up with them initially (the side characters anyway, Traci, Shannon, Hoke etc. I understood that dynamic) but the summer setting mixed in with that slight mystery aspect made a compelling read. This book deals with class divide and vacations and Traci (the FMC) finds herself questioning all she’s ever known.

A fun read.

Reading this in the winter has made me ready for the warmer weather. Was such a fun short read, I can’t wait for it to be released to run and get my copy!!

I was given an ARC of this book by netgalley. It is a great read. Equal parts beach read and mystery. Mary Kay Andrews does not disppoint with twists and turns. Gets you hooked on page 1 and keeps you hooked and wanting more right up to the last page.

An enjoyable book by a very popular (but new to me) author!

I only have one small complaint about this book, which I'll get out of the way first. The cover grabbed my attention and I envisioned this being a breezy, beach read. However, the storylines lean much more towards suspense with tons of family drama and a small dose of romance. In my opinion, the cover art and story don't match.

Traci Eddings is still mourning the death of her beloved husband and trying to run his family's resort, The Saint. With the exception of her niece, Traci's in-laws are toxic and go out of their way to be difficult. In addition, there are strange things going on according to the large number of guest complaints. The situation becomes even more tense when a murder occurs at the hotel and questions are asked about a 20-year old mystery from when Traci worked as a lifeguard. There is a large cast of characters - including Traci's former childhood best friend, employees at the resort, and an out-of-town investigator. I appreciate that, with the large cast of characters, the author fully developed each individual and that the multiple storylines were well-written. The confusing cover aside, I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys women's fiction and/or suspense!

I have only read Mary Kay Andrews' Christmas books so I was excited to get to try this out as something different. I went in blind, not having read the synopsis, and didn't realize how mysterious this book was going to be. I really enjoyed it! There were so many twists thrown at me as the story went on I was gasping all over the place.

In this story Traci Eddings is trying to bring the hotel, St. Cecilia, back from troubled times. This all after she has unexpectedly lost her husband. Her husband who's family owns the hotel, therefore she was granted part ownership after his death. The St. Cecilia was also her former place of employment from when she was a teenager. It's also the place she met her husband. As she's trying her best to wade through her grief while keeping a hotel afloat, she's met with many unexpected obstacles.

The author made me really feel like I was in the story and I wanted to really come after a few characters for doing harm to the sweet Traci who had been through so much. This really had a fun, summer aspect to it. But also had a lot of mystery to keep you guessing what was going to happen and who was good or bad.

When he was killed in a plane crash she got his share of the hotel and took over the managing of the hotel. Her brother-in-law is determined to see that she fails and he can take over her shares and the hotel. The hotel is failing and Traci has the summer to turn it around. She hires a lot of new staff. Then a tragedy from the past and tragedies occurring now are threatening to destroy the efforts to save her ownership.

I just adore Mary Kay Andrews and Summers at the Saint was another perfect beach read. Andrews creates such engaging characters that you get sucked into her stories Immediately, and I was so quickly wrapped up in the life of Traci Eddings, her complicated family dealings, and the trials of running a five-star beach resort. The story quickly becomes unputdownable when a murder occurs, and secrets from the past must be uncovered to understand what led to it. This is such a great read, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in escaping for a bit!

I absolutely ADORED this book! It had everything that I could ask for in a Mary Kay Andrews book. The characters were well developed and I found myself staying up way past my bedtime to finish it. Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this amazing book! I will definitely be sharing it with all of my fellow book lovers!

I really enjoyed this book! It had the who-dunit, family, romance, friendship and more. It’s a bit long, but it’s a great read for summer vacation. Perfect mix of summer and mystery to create a compelling beach read.

I love Mary Kay Andrews' books and this one did not disappoint!
It was over 400 pages and at times felt a little long but then again there was just so much going on in this adventure.
My nephew's name is KJ so that was fun :-)
