This was a little different than a Mary Kay Andrews typical book. It started slow and has a few too many chapters but overall it kept my interest and had some surprises. I liked the backdrop of the hotel and how the characters weaved in and out

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martins for the ARC. This is a good mix of summer beach read with mystery. There’s a lot of characters and developments of relationships throughout the book. Traci grew up as an Ain’t and married into the Saints but maintains a humble personality. She runs The Saint resort and tries to do the best for her employees and the legacy of the her late husband’s family while almost everyone around her is running into the ground. Then she loses her niece and the secrets of the family and the resort start to unravel. It was a great summery mystery but just felt there was a lot going on and parts of it became predictable.

Okay, it goes without saying that Ms. Andrews is one of my favorite authors - I’m trying to read every book she’s shown - but this is one of my favorites!!!

I love the characters: Traci, the main character who runs The Saint; Parrish, her niece; Livvy, her best friend’s daughter; Whelan, our eventual hero…

The storyline is great: recently widowed Traci is running the hotel, a position she inherited when her husband died. Her niece is murdered, and all hell breaks loose on the island.

But this is more than a simple whodunnit: there are several twists and turns in this book, unexpected relationships, back stories involving several apparently unrelated characters. And what I love most about an MKA story, a happy ending that ties up every loose end!

I received an ARC from St. Martin’s Press. All opinions are my own

Fantastic! I loved the setting of The Saint and the individual characters. Each new MKA book is so refreshing. I didn’t want it to end.
Many thanks to St. Martin’s Press and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

4.5 stars rounded up... loved it!

I love a good “whodunnit” storyline especially one with so much family drama mixed in. I found myself rooting for Traci Eddings the whole time. She’s like the underdog that deserves a happy ending and I so badly wanted everything to work out for her.
In the beginning, it felt like maybe there were too many characters to keep track of, but it ended up being the perfect mix of each individual’s story and connection to The Saint. I also enjoyed the small mix of storyline from 20 years ago that kept me guessing until the end. The plot kept building and building and while I thought I had every detail figured out there was a pretty big twist that had me shocked. Great ending!
I look forward to reading more from MKA.
Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Another great ready from Mary Kay Andrews! Whether your are a longtime fan or new to Mary Kay Andrews, you will not be disappointed.

Someone find me a Saint Cecelia resort and book me a room ASAP! The writing is so descriptive and the plotline moves at such a great pace that I hated to put the book down. I really enjoyed the balance of family dynamics, summer life, and mystery/tragedy. The way Andrews wrote about the food, though, is absolutely a foodie's paradise. Lunch at the Verandah, please!

If you're searching for a book heavy on the romance and intimate scenes, this isn't it. But as an avid romance reader, I didn't miss it a bit. Summers at the Saint is a really light, true beach read with a true crime mystery to solve. I did feel like there was a lot going on--I would have loved more of a wrap-up on the Hudson storyline--but Andrews has the reader locked in by the last 3/4.

I definitely recommend this book. Read it by the water--pool or ocean--with a nice cocktail and some seafood canapes!

Not what I expected, but a very enjoyable read. Solid twists and a good story; likable but imperfect characters. Quick read.

You're either a Saint or an Ain't. Traci became a Saint when she married the luxurious resort's heir after being a summer lifeguard. She loved the resort beyond her husband's sudden death and worked to make it better each and every year..

The plot revolves around a summer and its staff. Young adults living in a staff dorm provide the backdrop for a flare of love and mystery within the confines of the beautiful St Cecilia resort. Mary Kay Andrews has created a cast of characters who are truly delightful and a story you will absolutely love. Thank you NetGalley for an arc of this wonderful book. I highly recommend everyone add it to their summer reading list.

This was my third book I’ve read by Mary Kay Andrews and it is safe to say she is now a favorite author!

This book is very different from the first two Christmas books I read, which were feel good holiday reads. This one has murder and a 20 year old mystery, with many twists and turns, and I loved it! The synopsis of the book is actually perfect!

I could picture the setting, the beauty, charm, the food, the pool, and the gift store of the St. Cecelia, known as The Saint, with her descriptions of it all. There are quite a few characters in the book, but I had no problem keeping up with them. They are in a resort type setting so there would be! The characters are written so well and as believable people you’d come across in real life.

This book was hard to put down as I just had to know what was going on! You do also get some romance which I think she is more known for! If you’ve thought about reading Mary Kay Andrews and haven’t yet, read this one!!!

Thank you NetGalley for the advance copy.

Where to start? I haven’t read a Mary Kay Andrew’s novel in a while and this one was a breath of fresh air; the ocean, the mystery, the haves and have nots…this book has it all. It’s a great story that unfolds between different characters and the pace of the story is great. It will be perfect for spring or summer reading, or when you need to be transported to a sunnier locale!

Mary Kay Andrews is starting to become one of my favorite authors. Her stories are cozy and interesting. I tend to consume her books within a day or two which isn’t always easy for me. I read this in the winter but it’s a perfect summer read!

I absolutely love Mary Kay Andrews. She is one of the few authors that I will pay full price to read one of her books. I have been a fan for years. So let me explain why I enjoy her stories so much. The books are always different. Of course it's a different plot. But, what I mean is, her books never follow a pattern. A lot of authors who have written countless books get into a rut. You kind of know where the story is going because that's the author's MO. But with Andrews we never know where she's going to turn. Summers at the Saint is no exception. The biggest difference in this book and some of Andrew's other stories is the dark side. Yes! Andrews takes us to the dark side. We deal with drugs, sex and even murder! Murder! But in keeping to her style the story comes alive. Andrew's descriptions from clothing to scenery is unmatched. Her books are the kind that you pick up and do not put down until you have read the last page. Summers at the Saint is no exception. Just when I think she cannot top her previous book, she comes out with an even better one.
I voluntarily received a copy of this book from Netgalley.

Summers at the Saint is another 5 star read for me from Mary Kay Andrews! The Saint is a family owned resort on the coast of Georgia. Traci Eddings used to work there as a teenager and ended up marrying the bosses son. Being widowed at a young age she wants to turn The Saint around and bring it back to what it used to be. The characters are great and they actually talk like real people do. There is something for everyone in this story! Mary Kay Andrews writes novels that are hard to put down and I highly recommend this book! Go to the beach and solve a mystery too!

Thank you for this ARC! I thoroughly enjoyed this and this is my 2nd MKA book. It got me ready for summer Traci was a likable main character and Mary did a good job of portraying the real world struggles Traci is going through with trying to make everything right.

I really enjoy reading books by Mary Kay Andrews, and this one was definitely enjoyable. I will say that at times, I think that there were too many characters, and because of that, the character development was lacking. There were parts of the plot that needed to be more developed as well.

I liked the idea of the plot, but I felt like the ending was too abrupt, and the epilogue had to include details that should have been included in the ending.

I also thought Traci was a fantastic main character, but I thought there needed to be more to the love story.

I love Mary Kay Andrews for a fun beach read with a little depth. This story sucked me in and made me feel like I was sipping cocktails at a fancy bar during the summer ,despite it being -4 where I live. I recommend for an easy read!

I really enjoyed this book! Well constructed characters wrapped in a story that kept me turning pages all through the night. I loved the strong females in this story. Also there was just enough excitement to keep the story moving forward.

I received an advance reader copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

If Mary Kay Andrews has a new book coming out, sign me up. I received one of her books off Netgalley a few years back and fell in love with her writing style and character development. She’s become an auto-read author for me and when I saw Summers at the Saint was coming out, I couldn’t wait to read it. This book is the perfect beach read mixed with characters you will love, characters you will love to hate, and a side of “whodunnit”. I went into this book totally blind and didn’t know what to expect from it, but this book was 5/5 stars and I couldn’t put it down.

Thank you Netgalley for the advanced copy.

I received a free e-arc of this book through Netgalley. I was worried this was going to just be another summer resort book, but it had so many twists and turns that it was really hard for me to put it down in the second half. I enjoyed it a lot when I wasn't worrying about the characters. They really came to life with the author's descriptions.
