This was my first Mary Kay book and certainly won’t be my last! She definitely has a gift for developing the best characters! I didn’t realize there would be so many intriguing twist and turns in this romance! I loved that this took place at a beachside resort. The only thing that could have made it better is if I was reading this book in the summer on the beach!

Summers at the Saint is a fun, beach read with a side of murder mystery for an extra kick. The setting is the beautiful St. Cecilia Resort of the coast of Georgia. I could just picture the resort and its beautiful surroundings. This novel is full of great characters (as always in a Mary Kay Andrew’s novel) that you will fall in love with. Traci Eddings is a girl from the wrong side of the tracks, an “ain’t” who marries into the family who owns the resort and then becomes a “saint”. This was a quick read for me but there was just too much dialogue for me. That’s just a personal preference but it does make a difference in rating for me. I also thought the author tried to hard to appeal to the younger crowd with some of the profanity just thrown in. Would have been just as good without it. But it was still a classic Mary Kay Andrew’s summer beach hit. Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this early and offer my opinion.

Wow How does Mary Kay Andrews do it? Another humdinger of a novel It. will keep you on the edge of your seat until you finish the last page. I didn't want to put the book down but I had to get some sleep. Traci,Whelan, Libby. They're all super characters in this Breathtaking Mystery. You don't want to miss it.

I'm fairly new to Mary Kay Andrews books, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The premise of this one sounded so intriguing I decided to give it a try, and it did not disappoint. The characters were strong and the story had a little bit of everything-family drama, romance, murder.. I loved all of the twists and turns and the ending was unpredictable. I look forward to reading more from this author.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the early copy.

Loved this book! It has everything..who done it, romance, friendship, family and a fabulous setting. I enjoy all of Mary Kay’s books, but I especially enjoyed this story. Great cast of characters!

Let me start by saying I am a fan of MKA. She writes the perfect beach reads that are engaging, HEA, and still touch on real life problems like grief. I was engrossed in this novel and it kept me on my toes the whole way through. However, I have 3 major issues:
1. The joke at the end of ch 74 fell flat about firing Whelan for sexual harassment. It was just cringey rather than funny.
2. The whole story about Whelan and his half brother Hudson just…stopped. It didn’t get a resolution. Hudson didn’t get justice. And it needs to be to complete the HEA.
3. What initially captured me was the different POV chapters of all the characters. That just stopped suddenly and I wish it would’ve continued.
If these 3 issues can be resolved, then this is easily a 4-4.5 star beach read.

I was very excited to receive an ARC of Summers at the Saint from St Martins Press and Netgalley. I know that Mary Kay Andrews will have me not wanting to put my kindle and totally engrossed in a fantastic story.
Summers at the Saint did not disappoint. Traci grew up dreaming about what it would be like to vacation at The Saint, a resort for the ultra wealthy. Her life changes when she she meets Hoke Eddings, the youngest son of The Saints owner. This story has it all. Murder, love, mystery, backstabbing families.
Just sit back and enjoy while Mary Kay Andrews takes you on a ride!

You can never go wrong with Mary Kay Andrews. It was a great story. It was hard to not be angry at Ric and his attitude. Great to see Traci rekindle her friendship with Shannon and to also get the guy in the end.

This book took me on a HUGE adventure, and I was not prepared going into it! Thankfully, after the shock wore off from a major moment about a third of the way through the book, I was soooo invested to see what the culmination of events would be. This has lots of great characters/character development, it’s set at a beautiful upscale resort called The Saint (The saint Cecelia) and includes a range of topics including social status and hierarchy (the saints vs the aints), family drama, budding relationships, murder, mystery and SECRETS! And it ends beautifully with a “happy” and satisfying wrap-up… I am giving this 2 thumbs up and 5 stars!
I am LOVING Mary Kay Andrews books and was so excited to get this copy early from NetGalley.

I’m a huge fan of Mary Kay Andrews. She outdid herself. This book was SO good! I loved the development of characters. Just enough history to give us a hint of who they are and why. I enjoyed the plot and loved the mystery development. I was able to figure a few elements out but there were some great surprises throughout the book. I was sad when it ended!! 5 stars for sure!

This is classic Mary Kay Andrews. You are hanging out on the beach at the popular hotel/resort "The Saint", plus there is a mystery and a little romance included. It's summer and Tracy, the owner of the hotel, is wanting to return to the old days at The Saint. She sets out to hire some locals, including her niece, and remodels one of the barns to serve as staff housing. Everything is going well until a long ago drowning is brought back up again, and she is confronted by her past. This is just the start of the mystery part of the story, and Mary Kay Andrews weaves in this mystery along with a present day mystery to keep the reader flipping the pages.
Thank you to St. Martin's Press for the opportunity to read and review.

I am a Mary Kay Andrews super fan, and I was THRILLED to received an ARC for review! This is a tough review for me to write, because I wanted to badly to love this book, but it was a total miss for me. First, what went well - the charming and amazing descriptions of the hotel and town. I loved every bit of it. Now, the not so good. Lots of plot line holes, timing of when certain characters received information was off. That wasn't the most off-putting though. The forced romance that happens the week the main character's loved one is killed is so unnecessary. Criminal investigation going on while frolicking in the waves? I highly suggest the removal of the scene where the new boyfriend essentially walks off when the main character wasn't willing to put out. Disturbing and unnecessary to the plot.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC for an honest review.

My third read by this author. There was a lot going on with a lot of characters. I enjoyed the other stories I have read a little more than this one. Thanks for the advanced copy

Wow, what a cute and captivating story "Summers at the Saint" turned out to be! I'm all in for suspenseful tales, and this one had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish.
Mary Kay Andrews weaves a narrative that's not just a murder mystery but also a rollercoaster of family drama and a sprinkle of romance. The multiple storylines add a layer of complexity that keeps you hooked, though I'll admit, it took a moment to catch up with all the characters and their perspectives.
The plot is intriguing right from the get-go. Two lifeguards, Traci and Shannon, working for the "saints" among the affluent crowd! Fast forward a few years, and Traci's life takes a turn when she marries into the family that owns the resort. The joy is short-lived as tragedy strikes, leaving Traci to manage the struggling hotel on her own.
The mix of mystery, shady histories, and the challenges of running a high-end resort in a post-pandemic world adds layers to the story. Traci, along with her crew of young employees, becomes the heart of "The Saint Cecelia." Their struggles to maintain the legacy of the resort while dealing with suspicious activities create a compelling narrative.
Sure, the start might be a bit busy with numerous points of view, but once you settle in, it's an absolute delight. Mary Kay Andrews creates a perfect balance between the suspenseful mysteries and the warmth of summer vibes. It's like a literary vacation you never want to end.
This book is perfect for a vacation read. Picture yourself under the sun, trying to unravel the mysteries alongside Traci and her team. It's engaging, fun, and just the right amount of suspense to keep you turning those pages. "Summers at the Saint" is a delightful escape that I wholeheartedly recommend, especially if you love a good mix of mystery and summer vibes.

Thank you to NetGalley & St. Martin’s Press for the ARC!
This was such a fun, light read with a little mystery & scandal sprinkled throughout. The setting and descriptions of The Saint Cecelia made me feel like I was on the island. I felt as though some of the pieces to the story were just tossed in when convenient & not much resolution was given when it came to Charlie - I wanted more on why and how he got wrapped up in it all considering he had been there for so long. Livvy & Felice were entertaining to follow as they did their own detective work with Parrish’s notes. A fun summer read that has a little thrill to it!

Summers at the Saint was a book that will stay with me for a long time.
Mary Kay Andrews wrote a book that was filled with so much emotion, mystery, friendship, family drama and so much more.
St. Cecelia, a landmark hotel on the coast of Georgia, was a family-owned business and Traci Eddings married into the family making her co-owner of the hotel. After her husband was tragically killed it left her in charge of the hotel. The hotel was having some financial difficulty, but Traci knew she could turn the business around.
The story was one that kept me turning the pages and I was shocked at some of the events that happened in the story.
This is a book that you will want to read. I enjoy Mary Kay Andrews books and this one really had me from the beginning.
Thank you #NetGalley, #Mary Kay Andrews and # St. Martin's Press for the copy of #Summers at The Saint. This is my personal review.

This is my first Mary Kay Andrews novel and I'll definitely be back for more! "Summers at the Saint" gives us a lovely setting, a resort anyone would love to visit, filled with people no one would want to know. Of course, there are also laudable and kind characters, too, but there is more than enough criminal activity to fill the pages and keep the reader riveted. The relationships between friends and lovers, criminals and victims, satisfy the reader and make it difficult to close the book.

I have read a few of Mary Kay Andrew's Christmas themed books and enjoyed them. This book, Summers at the Saint, is by far my favorite of her books! I was immediately drawn into the plot and that was a great thing, since I have been having a difficult time reading lately.
I truly cared about her characters (the good people, not so much the bad ones). I felt that I was experiencing the resort while reading. I was immersed in the mystery of what happened to one of the characters.
Overall, a wonderful story and I definitely recommend it!
Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for allowing me to read the advance reader copy, with no obligation to write a review. My review is written freely as a hobby, and is totally my own opinion, not influenced by receiving the ARC.

I liked this. It was a really good palette cleanser between more intense books. Fun and quick. Not my favorite rom com but I do with I read this in the summer!

Traci is the widowed owner of the St. Cecilia hotel after marrying into the family many years ago. The hotel is experiencing it's fair share of hardships and she is determined to turn things around. New information on a drowning that occured in the past and her difficult brother in law make the hotel's redemption even more challenging, but Traci is undeterred. Aan enjoyable, perfect summer beach read.
