There is just something about a threesome that gives a love story a bit more oomph. It is hard enough to find that special someone, but when it requires two someones things get a little tricky. The relationship developing in "Tempted by Two", still at its start, shows finding balance between three people is difficult yet in the end any obstacle will be worth it to achieve the happiness they know is possible.
The three main characters –Katie, Marcus, and Owen—do not change much through the story. Katie already made the decision to try new things in search of happiness, so her growth is more of a self-awareness she previously lacked. The two boys, in Katie’s presence, become better versions of themselves rather than any alterations being necessary.
While Katie is a teashop with the two men, there is an older woman who catches Katie’s notice. While that is the only time we see her, I would love for this character to make another appearance so we get to know what makes her seem to stand out. She may be the character of a previous novel, but if not I hope this woman is given book herself!
I loved the novella; it is definitely a favourite for this genre. The characters have depth, and the romance is both sweet and sensual. While the world created is rather insular, rarely involving interaction with others, it still felt like the three had a place in the outside world.
