Boldwood Books, you are too kind to me. Thank you and NetGalley for the ARC of "The Perfect Parents". I was under no obligation to review, all opinions are my own.

That is exactly the case with the Hemsworth family. on the outside, they are perfect pillars of their community. On the inside, it is all rotten. Jackson Hemsworth rules with an iron fist. His wife and kids fear him beyond anything else.
Years later, Jackson and his wife Lydia comit a suicide pact and throw themselves off a bridge. But why? What things have come to light? The siblings return home, just to find out that they are no longer welcome in the village. What have their parents done? What dark secrets have they been hiding? The biggest question of them all being, why has the body of their mother never been found?
J A Baker is a new author for me. I love all kinds of family dramas and tragedies. So I had to read this one as well.
While it was not a bad book/story, it is nothing I will be writing home about. I felt like I was stuck on the island of been-here-done-that. Or rather, have read something very similar recently.
I predicted quite a bit of the storyline early on, so there were not a lot of surprises for me. While I loved the initial idea, I could not warm up to the characters most of the times. Though, the writing was nice and easy to get in to.
I am glad I've read the book and I am pretty sure there will be an audience for it, that just is not me.
Loved being able to read this book early. Her books are so fun to read through. What is happening, how will this play out. I read this book super fast because I just had to know what was happening!
