This was one of those fast paced domestic noirs that you can just get lost in for a few hrs. There is a lot going on with a load of characters and twists and such but it was quite easy to follow and didn't requite too much deep thinking. It kept me interested nd there was an overall creepy, tense atmosphere that added to the story. Well written, no plot holes, does what it says on the tin really

What a ride. I was hooked right from the beginning. All the secrets, the complicated characters and the eerie atmosphere were perfect. Besides, I liked the Irish setting and to learn some things and slangs from there!

She lives there was her 15 year old daughter Freya and until recently with her husband Danny. Siobhan used to work has a journalist. She travels back to Ireland with her daughter determined to find out what happened to her sister Kathleen.
Really loved this book from start to finish. I fond the plot and the issues easy to follow.

Ideally, I'd give this book a 3.5 but I've rounded to 4. I enjoyed the story, I liked the characters, but I don't love the way it was all tied up at the end.

There are no major twists in this but it was fun to read and piece together all the clues. It was more domestic/detective suspense than thriller to me. I felt like it did drag on a bit but was overall enjoyable. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC.

This was such a suspenseful thriller which kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end. Told from present and past you soon learn there are a lot of secrets between the sisters. There were many good twists and turns. So overall an excellent thriller.

Siobhan Sister went missing and six ago there has been no sightings and no one seems to know what happened to her. So when Siobhan receives a call that her purse was found with a note inside that says Help Me. She travels to her town to figure out what she can do to help find her but people don’t what Siobhan back and poking her nose in.

This was a fun and fast paced thriller. With so many characters, I did find it a bit tricky to keep a handle on everything. While not the most shocking or twisty ending, I found myself very curious throughout the book

Sue Fortin's suspenseful page-turner The Missing Wife will keep you guessing until the final pages. This emotionally gripping tale centers around two sisters - Kathleen and Siobhan Walsh. When Kathleen mysteriously vanishes one night after a fight with Siobhan, her manipulative husband and brooding teenage son are left to pick up the pieces. But Siobhan is convinced her sister is still alive and that there's more to her disappearance than meets the eye.

As Siobhan digs deeper into her sister's life, she soon realizes that some dangerous secrets lurk beneath the surface. When threats against Siobhan start and her own daughter goes missing, the tension ramps up even further. Siobhan is now in a race against time to uncover the truth and save her family.

With a nail-biting plot full of clever twists and turns, Fortin weaves an addictive story that will hook you in and never let you go. Vividly drawn characters add complex emotional layers that give the story incredible depth. The Missing Wife highlights the complex, layered relationships between sisters and the lengths one will go to protect their family and reputations. This book is a must-read for fans of mystery and domestic thrillers!

I read the book in only two days. Content: No sex, LOTS of swearing, more F bombs than I could count.

The idea was fun and I’m super glad to have received it and for like 70% I was hyped. Then came the reveal. And that took it down a bit. Still pretty good! Thanks for the ARC NetGalley an the AutoApproval Storm Publishing

This is a slow burn and hard to get into the book!

To me the book seems a bit far fetched and was just really slow and seemed to drag!

Was very hard to keep the attention and to care what happens!

Thanks NetGalley for letting me read and review

Siobhan Martin’s sister, Kathleen, has been missing for months. After receiving a call that could provide a clue to what happened to her Siobhan decides to return home to Dingle to pursue the truth. While Kathleen’s disappearance is the driving mystery of the story, Siobhan’s return to her hometown stirs up old secrets and unexpected twists.

The story was slow in a few spots, but overall it kept me interested and made me want to keep reading. There’s a nice cast of characters and I found myself invested in all of their stories. There was also a lot of town drama and family angst and it was hard to know who to trust at any given moment. Some of the surprises/twists weren’t super shocking, but toward the end of the book there was a twist relating to Kathleen’s storyline that did take me by surprise.

The title The Missing Wife is also a bit of a misnomer. Yes, Kathleen is John’s wife and she’s missing, but I thought the overall focus of the story was more about the sisters. Not just Siobhan’s search for Kathleen but also the relationship and dynamics between the two and their younger sister Corin. It was a book about family and the ties that bind us and how far we’re willing to go for the ones we love.

This was an enjoyable three star read for me. Thanks NetGally and Storm Publishing for this advanced copy.

Siobhan's sister went missing six months ago. Now a new clue has come to light bringing Siobhan back to her hometown. Can she solve the mystery? You'll have to read The Missing Wife by Sue Fortin to find out - it's due out February 16, 2024.

I have never read this author before and have resolved to try new authors this year, so I was glad to get into this novel. The writing is good, and the story moves along at a good pace for the most part. I was invested in the plot and eager to find out if the sister would be found. It is more of a detective type story than a thriller, though. The details of why Kathleen is missing were revealed fairly quickly, and it is clear who is responsible. There are no major twists or surprises, but rather it is a fight to piece the clues together in order to convict those who have committed some pretty serious crimes. The ending fell a little flat for me personally, but I did like that she tied up the loose ends. I will definitely check out future releases from this author.

If you enjoy piecing clues together and are fine with no major twists or turns, this is a good book to try. The novel does include references to grooming children, sex trafficking, child/spousal abuse, and kidnapping, so those sensitive to those topics may want to skip this one.

Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for the advanced copy.

"The Missing Wife" by Sue Fortin is a wild ride, and truly I thought I could predict the ending-- but I was waaaay off. Siobhan kind of annoyed me as a character, so sometimes I was more frustrated in the plot because she was so selfish-- but I feel she redeemed herself. I really liked though that Sue had created a lore for this town and the people in it, so for me-- I felt like I could really get lost in this little Irish village.

Thank you to Netgalley and Storm Publishing for an advanced copy of the book in exchange for my honest review! The Missing Wife comes out next month! February 16th! Keep an eye out for it if you love mysteries and thrillers!

I DNF this book. To me the characters were all unlikeable and premise far fatched. It stared out good but when they introduced the troubled teens , it lost me.

I had a hard time getting into this book.

A woman goes missing and six months later her sister receives a call that her purse was found with a note inside that says Help Me. So sister travels to her town to figure out what she can do to help find her.

It was a slow paced, slow read. It was hard to keep my attention.
