Beautiful pictures, easy to follow instructions, and a perfectly weaved together book. Crochet simplified, great for those just starting out and those who've become experts. Each piece is so cute! Awesome way to craft gifts for all sorts of occasions surrounding baby!
There are a whole wide range of patterns in here that are easy to follow for even the most beginner, like myself. I can't wait to finish making these projects!
I really liked these. I learnt to crochet when I was pregnant so I'm relatively new though adventurous and I enjoyed making up some little booties. They took no time at all and there were some nice descriptions of stitches too which was helpful for me because I often get confused with UK and US terminology.
Really nice book for craft lovers. This has a whole range of ideas for projects and the instructions make it easy to achieve successful results too.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for letting me read this book in exchange for my feedback.
As a new grandmother, I was so excited for this title! I'm happy to say that I was not disappointed. These sets are absolutely gorgeous! The patterns are well-written and easy-to-follow, and the pictures are extremely helpful. As an avid crocheter, I highly recommend grabbing a copy of this book. I look forward to more from this author!
This is a wonderful book for a beginner or someone with many years of experience. As the title indicates it has Blankets, Booties, Hats too make for that new someone on your gift list. Various sizes from newborn to 12 months. There are tutorials for any stitch you are not familiar with.
A great book with lots of crochet ideas for babies. I will be digging this out often to make presents for my friends and family
A good book to make many Crochet Baby Sets. There are ten sets of patterns and the instructions are comprehensive and clear. This is a good book for Crochet Lovers.
I have several baby showers to attend this year so thought this book might give me inspiration on items I could make for the pending bundles of joy. This book had a great selection of patterns and gave a lot of useful tips that would be extremely beneficial to people just starting out on their crochet journeys. The patterns aren't necessarily standouts but I look forward to get started on some of them soon.
A great collection of infant-oriented projects. Helpful tips for even the most inexperienced of crocheters. A great addition to any collection.
Crochet Baby Sets by Kristi Simpson is a collection of thirty patterns for things relating to babies. From blankets, booties, hats, tops, and more there is surely something you can find in this collection to make for a baby…or even just inspire you. The patterns are clear and easy to read. The back of the book contains additional information for crochet basics and how to read the patterns included.
Thank you to Netgalley and Kristi Simpson for the ARC.
A fabulous easy to follow set of patterns.
Perfect for baby gifts.
There was no "wow I need to drop all my wips & make this now" patterns for me though so it has fallen short of 5🌟
These were cute pieces but nothing that wowed me. The patterns were easy to read and fallow. I bellied even a novice could make these with this book. But baby crochet has been so overdone I was hopeing for so,etching new and interesting. Even a new take or flourish. I was let down.
These have some really cute designs and I can't wait to use it in the future😍
Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for this eARC in exchange for an honest review!
The patterns are quite easy to follow and at the end of the book you find helpful info such as: abbreviations, how to read the patterns, how to hold the hook and a stitch guide.
The sets are really cute and they can made a very cute and priceless gift.
Disclaimer: I received a free copy in exchange for my review
The patterns in this book are really easy to follow. I love all of the patterns- they make really great gifts and are so adorable. Great book, easy to follow and really like the designs! I love that each set has a different theme with matching booties, blanket, and hat, it's really adorable. Highly recommend
This book contains some cute baby patterns - arranged in sets - that would make great baby shower gift sets. The book starts off with giving some helpful tips about crocheting in general. The instructions and patterns look easy to follow. There are different measurements for different sizes and, while each set starts with it's own general photo, it is then broken down with closer up photos for each new item pattern.
I received an electronic arc of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Crochet Baby Sets is a fun and well written guide with tutorials for crocheted baby items by Kristi Simpson. Released 5th March 2024 by Rowman & Littlefield on their Stackpole Books imprint, it's 112 pages and is available in paperback and ebook formats.
This is an appealing and up-to-the-minute book full of doable patterns for cute baby things. It's professionally designed and printed and the photography is clear and in color throughout. The pattern models in the book are *not* only shown in pastel and that's a huge plus for readers who have trouble visualizing projects in other colorways.
It's arranged in 10 different layettes, which each contain several pieces. The items can be mixed and matched of course. Most of them are (mostly) gender neutral and can be made and given before they know the gender of the baby. There are a couple of them which are decidedly "girly" (see cover), but most are not.
There's a good general how-to tutorial included as well as process photos for crochet and the construction and finishing for the projects. Readers would still be advised to have a friend or local yarn shop teacher available for help if needed (or the masses of info available online, but in that case it's often difficult to winnow out and find the info needed in an acceptable time-frame).
Four and a half stars. Very well written; clear and easy to follow. The author has a welcoming and friendly style of writing and the projects are attractive and fun. This would be a good choice for public or school library acquisition, home use, or for fibrearts/makers groups.
Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.
My friend just had a baby so I was looking for something to make for her. This book was perfect. Lots of cute baby sets to choose from with straightforward instructions. I can't wait to try making more of them!
Crochet baby sets is such a sweet book with beautiful sets for babies. The patterns are easy to follow for any skill level and I can't wait to try out more of them. I don't have many babies in my life right now so I'll be focusing on the blankets and the headband (ADORABLE!!) . Thank you for the ARC!
