This book has some really fun and easy to follow patterns. Highlights for me are the plant cozies and the matching placemats and runners. The inclusion of additional resources at the back is a plus as well.
Nice photos and easy to follow patterns but I was hoping for some better patterns than what was offered. I feel like every single ‘home’ crochet book has the exact same mix of patterns- wall hangings, planters, blankets, cushions and baskets. There was nothing unique or original about the patterns themselves and nothing that would make me pick one of them over a free pattern I could download online. I’m sure that’s just my personal taste and plenty of people will love this book.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book was great! Super cute patterns and was so happy to see the variety of yarn utilized, and uniqueness in home decor. I highly recommend!
As this is a book - it would be nice to have an explainer on how to complete each stitch at the start of the book rather than just an explanation of the abbreviation. If you don't know the abbreviations when buying this book, you likely also don't know how to do the stitches. I've also never seen magic ring described as adjustable loop.
The patterns were relatively easy to follow but I found some parts confusing, would be nice to have some in-between step photos as well. On the whole, a nice-looking book but just as basic and as much information as the free patterns you can get online.
This collection had beautiful photos and very simple, user-friendly instructions. I was a bit under-whelmed by the simplicity of the projects as I felt like the front cover perhaps made me feel they would be a bit more adventurous, but they've still created some lovely projects and I've gifted a few of the table runners already.
This is a great book for anyone who would like to dip their toes into weaving, I chose this book for this reason as it is a craft I find interesting. The layout is very good for the learner, the text is clear and easy to understand. The projects are relatively simple, if a little basic but for the novice they are perfect. My Crocheted Home is a worthy addition to any aspiring craft library. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for an ARC of this book.
A nice selection of houseware crochet patterns that rely on a modern design aesthetic using Lion Brand Yarn. I especially liked the color ways author Baca featured in the photo examples. Directions appear clear for a practiced crochet enthusiast and resources are listed for those that may need additional instructions to get started in crochet basics. There are a lot of crochet books on the market, but this one stands out because these projects use traditional techniques with a modern and unique twist. There are a few macramé style items that may be inspired from the past, but the Wow Ottoman and the Triangle Wall Hanging lean more towards coastal grandmother than your average granny square.
My Crocheted Home : Hand-made baskets, pillows, throws, wall hangings, placemats, and more, This book includes 10 projects of varying difficulty and size. Aimed at beginner to intermediate. The instructions are easy to follow and photographs very good. My only slight disappointment was the projects themselves, I think I was hoping for something a bit more inspiring. But this is probably just a personal taste thing, and many other readers will love them.
I have used/followed multiple pattern books by this author and absolutely love her patterns! This specific book i was very interested in the interior decor especially the pillow and the wall hangings!
A nice collection of crochet patterns. I really like that there are plant related patterns in this book! The table runner and blanket are quite nice too. Nothing spectacular but I like the simplicity of the projects.
So many cute designs in this book! I’m midway through following the pattern for the triangle wall hanging and am so excited to be finished and be able to hang it on my wall. I fully intended to make the arrowwood throw as well as the crochet caddy. This is a great selection of diverse home creations. From what I’ve crocheted from the patterns so far and from the skimming I’ve done, the patterns are clear and easy to understand.
I do hope the final copy has some more photos or diagrams of the pieces in progress as the visual aid can help a lot.
For a person who loves to crochet and has for years, but has an issue reading patterns some of the time, this book is pretty good. I can understand the patterns. I also like how the writer has explained what stitches are counted in the pattern or not. Walks you through it especially if you're new to crochet and have basic knowledge. You should be able to follow these patterns quite easy.
Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for the advance ecopy.
Patterns are easy to follow. Photos are good. I think that the number of projects are small and they could be more interesting.
Patterns are thorough and modern with a variety of options for both beginner and intermediate. I have already started the “Granny Chevron Throw” which will be the perfect reading throw once it’s done. There are smaller projects too like the “Hanging Plant Basket” for times you just want to make a quick gift.
Firstly, thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC, very grateful to have received a copy in exchange for my review.
I really enjoyed reading through this pattern book! I thought the designs were great and the patterns themselves were easy to read and follow along. I also really enjoyed the photos of the items showcased throughout the book.
I love the concept of a book just for home items especially the items that are not so typical like the ottoman and throw caddy.
I think this will be a great good for someone to reach for and get inspired to make more crochet items for the home.
I’m a fan of Salena Baca’s crochet books, so I was so excited to see My Crocheted Home on NetGalley! This book is another winner, just as I suspected. It promises to deliver modern and functional patterns, and it delivers! There were no duds. The two throw blankets (the Arrowwood Throw and the Granny Chevron) are what I am most excited about, but I am a sucker for blankets. There are plenty of decor projects in here, too!
The instructions were clear, but I would note that explanations of certain stitches or how to join is not elaborated on, so very beginners will likely need to look at other resources to complete the projects. But there are plenty of free resources out there for that.
This was a really fun and cohesive collection with a modern twist on some old classics. I definitely look forward to decorating my home with these projects!
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the opportunity to review a free eARC in exchange for an honest review!
This is the first crochet book I requested for review and I was lucky with this one. Even as a beginner and non-English speaker I see that the patterns are clear and not complicated. I liked many designs and would like to try them one day (once I buy a proper yarn), especially the throw, flower pot cover, table mat and pillowcase. As a whole the book is not long, it consists of 10 designs, but that's enough if your home needs a little bit of cosy touch. At the end there is a list of other crochet books that this author published and I would be interested in giving them a try.
This book contains crochet patterns for placemats, throws, baskets and other household items.
I loved the designs and the photos of the finished items and I look forward to trying to make these for my own home.
Thank you to NetGalley and Globe Pequot for my advanced e-copy in exchange for an honest review.
I uses to buy Selena Baca patterns on Etsy when I had a crochet business. He patterns are straightforward, and modern. I will definitely be hooking up the wall hanging!
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.
I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook.
Very cute crochet projects for around the house. They are more on the modern/contemporary side. But would be perfect for people who are looking to add some coziness to their apartment/dorm etc. The instructions seem easy to understand.
