Small crochet book which includes 10 patterns; two blankets, a placemat, a wall hanging, an ottoman, and a few others. My favorite one is the triangle wall hanging, but I was most surprised by the crochet caddy, that is not something I had seen before.
The patterns are nice and come with written instruction and a few pictures. The instruction are clear, but for those who prefer crocheting by chart, be aware that there are none. There is also clear graphics for the assembly process.
This book is not for beginner, the pattern themselves don't seem too complicated, but there is no introduction on stitch and other process, which assume a prior knowledge. It does come with a stitch abbreviations glossary and a concise speciality stitches and techniques explanation but that's it.
Overall most patterns are relatively common, you could find similar thing in other pattern ressources, but its a nice compilation, with great instruction and pictures.
This is my first read by author Salena Baca and it definitely won't be my last!
This book contains 10 patterns specifically for homegoods. As a beginner crocheter, the instructions were very user friendly and makes the beautiful designs seem achieveable. The blankets were my favorite designs in the book, specifically the granny chevron throw. My only complaint is that there seem to be such few patterns and there are only two blankets in the book.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of this book!
These patterns are so versatile and cute, definitely will enjoy working on these patterns to decorate my home!
This book features beautiful home patterns that are easy to follow and fantastic for all skill levels. Patterns range from blankets to plant holders to throw pillows, and showcase beautiful texture in the majority of the patterns. The photos included are a fantastic resource while you create because they allow you to see where you’re headed! Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me early access to this.
First off, a huge thank you go Salena Baca and NetGalley!
I’ve recently gotten into crocheting and this book is PERFECT! I’m excited to make all 10 projects. The instructions are very informative. How Selena has organized each page is very helpful.. Knowing what type of yarn and length is so helpful. I am not great at guessing how much yarn I need of one color and I never have enough. This book isn’t a book for beginners who want a step by step process for basic knowledge or technique. However, you can easily learn that stuff on YouTube pretty fast and this is a fun book to give you more ideas!
I'm starting to explore more crochet items and this is a great book for someone who already has the basic skills down. The variety of patterns is great, even if just showing you different ways to use them, and I enjoyed that these had a modern feel to them.
I'm looking forward to having a go at making items and will make sure to give more feedback as I do.
Thank you NetGalley and Globe Pequot for this eARC in exchange for an honest review.
I am new to crocheting- NEW NEW. Most of these are probably too complicated for me right now, but I look forward to making them when I've been practicing more!
5 stars
This is a wonderful pattern book. The instructions are clear and relatively simple. The patterns are adorable. There are wall art patterns, afghan, magazine holder, pillows and so much more. The pictures are beautiful and the graphs are very helpful.
I’m pretty much in love with this boho style crochet book.
This crochet manual/book was really fun to read through and set me up for some home decor ideas. The patterns were easy to use/read and the items were hip and timeless (it is sometimes hard to find hip home decor ideas in crochet books - so this was a treat!). I will definitely be using this and recommending to my crochet friends! Such a quick manual!
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this advanced copy ebook in return for an honest and unbiased review.
I love a book of good crochet patterns. This book contains 10 patterns for homegoods, and it is currently priced at $12.95, which is standard for a book of crochet patterns.
Pros:
Uses Lion brand yarn - which is easy for me to obtain, good quality, and often on sale
Patterns are easy to understand and would be good for those just starting out
Clear pictures that show the item being made, and the items themselves are aesthetically pleasing
Cons:
I would say that there isn't a wide variety of patterns:
3 items are all the same pattern, just in different forms. and 2 items are specific to plants.
I would flip through the table of contents to make sure these are items you want to make before purchasing, but if you are, the patterns are good quality.
I'd like to thank Netgalley for an ARC, and this is my honest review.
