Thank you, NetGalley and Rodale Inc for the advanced reader’s copy. As a woman of a any age, I greatly enjoyed reading this very informative book. This book has chapters that describes the different symptoms associated with menopause, helpful patient stories, and then provides an alphabetical toolkit where you can look up a specific symptom and it will give you information about that particular symptom. I found this book very nice as there are just SO many symptoms that can be related to decreasing estrogen levels and menopause. Thank you for providing this up to date research that focuses on about half of a woman’s life that there are not many studies done on and many doctors tend to say is “just a part of life”.

I have come across various resources pertaining to women's health the past few years, however not as informative and helpful as Marie Claire Haver's The New Menopause. Having joined her newsletter and having read The Galveston Diet by this author, I was excited to have the opportunity to read this such book relating to women's change of life.
Let me start out with saying that The New Menopause provides very well- outlined chapters of research that supports the facts presented throughout the text, pertaining to many concerns and issues experienced by many women. A lot of information is presented in a way that engages the reader, helps them understand what they may be facing and how to seek the help they need to possibly alleviate the issues faced. As a woman experiencing early symptoms of perimenipause, I was glad to encounter this book to provide me with the necessary information to address to my doctor. I especially appreciated the tips and pertinent information to gather to support my issues and concerns relating to my personal health. I, for one am planning on bringing the issues at hand forward to my doctor to discuss the best possible solutions and address ideas to alleviating what I am going through. This book by Marie Claire Haver not only gave me the confidence in voicing my opinions and concerns, it gave me the knowledge I needed to look into what I may be facing.
Thank you netgalley for the ArC of this book.

An eye-opening and very informative book about a subject that isn't discussed nearly enough. More than just anecdotal, Dr. Haver provides concrete research.

I wish I could bring Dr. Mary Claire Haver to my next gynecologist appointment with me! She is an amazingly strong advocate for women's health, and, specifically, advocate for women experiencing menopausal symptoms. Her new book, The New Menopause, is the next best thing to having her join me at my doctor's office. I would love to have her as my doctor, but sadly, I don't live in the same state as her.
Her book is divided into three parts: part one is a history of menopause medicine, part two offers symptoms/solutions/strategies for menopause treatment, and part three is a tool kit of symptom based resources. I spent the most time reading through the tool kit and finding potential solutions to many of the issues I have been experiencing. I felt so understood, validated, and heard as I was reading this book.
I am realizing that in order to get the care I deserve, I may need to change my provider to someone more willing to work with me. Dr. Haver provides information about how to prepare for your appointment. She lists questions to ask and how to talk to your doctor about therapeutic actions. I am thankful for this resource and look forward to taking care of myself during this time of change.
Thank you to #NetGalley and Rodale Inc. for this opportunity to read and review this book.

As a woman with so many questions as I enter into this stage of life, the book offers easy to find and easy to read/understand information about what it is and what to “expect”. I will keep this book handy to reference to better understand what my body is going through. Thank you for giving woman a pretty complete guide to navigate through the menopausal years!
