An enjoyable read. The story of three sisters who have each other’s backs despite growing up with an emotionally distant mother. At times, too descriptive but overall a good story.

A 2024 must read! Lovers and Liars is a sweet novel that centers around three sisters reunited for the youngest sister’s destination wedding. Sylvie, Emma, and Cleo are at different crossroads in their own lives and find unexpected support from one another.
I adore everything I have read by Amanda Eyre Ward! Amanda’s unique writing style is both captivating and entertaining! The storyline is both relatable and realistic. Lovers and Liars is a solid and complete 5 star masterpiece! I am already eagerly awaiting Amanda Eyre Ward next book!

quick and very fun read about three sisters and a toxic mother, they all split off but the new beaus have reunited them. tysm for the arc.

Three separated sisters and their charming misters.
A little bit of love, a little bit of mystery and a totally dysfunctional family. This is the tale of three sisters living in three different parts of the country. All keeping their distance from their toxic mother. Can the charming men in their lives and a trip to an English castle for a fairytale like wedding bring them all together or push them further apart?
Super fun, quickly and a quick read! I have not read The Jetsetters so I had no idea what I was getting into. Pleasantly surprised. Loved it!
Thanks Netgalley for the advanced readers copy!

"Lovers and Liars" is a feel-good read with sisters and secrets. The castle setting and light tone of the book made this seem like the perfect vacation or beach read. Recommended for readers who are fans of Amanda Eyre Ward's previous books, and the Chick Lit genre. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. #LoversandLiars #NetGalley

What a great story that captures sisterhood and what it is like to grow up with sisters who you love with every fiber of your being and who also annoy you to no end. Such a special treat of a book! Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine, Ballantine Books for a copy of this book for an honest review.

Lovers and Liars followed a story of 3 sisters that dealt with a heavy amount of trauma from their mother. I enjoyed navigating thru each sisters silent struggle as well as the one they shared. The girls really came together for sure and all i kept thinking of was poor Sylvie. Sylvie caught the worst of it. Cleo was the momma hen and clearly had big sister written all over it. This story really taught me not to settle, hug my sister a lil harder and keep trying. Great book. would definitely recommend.

What a great book. Three sisters, all in their thirties, are living lives of functional dysfunction after being raised by an eat-your-young narcissist. Sylvie, a young widow, can't move past her grief even as she becomes engaged to a kind but flawed British man. Cleo is a workaholic who won't let herself stop rescuing everyone and just live. Emma is a pleaser who has allowed a predatory pyramid scheme to blow through her family's savings, endangering her good husband and adorable young sons. As the families converge for a wedding at a castle in England, the secrets emerge, threatening everyone and everything. A fine read with such a satisfying ending that I read the last several-dozen pages twice.

I loved Wards last two previous titles and when I seen a new novel I had to jump at the chance to read it. Y’all it did not disappoint!
Lovers and Liars by Amanda Eyre Ward is a wonderful novel about sisterhood, secrets, relationships and of course lies!
Sylvie, Cleo and Emma were so much fun. I truly enjoyed their character and personalities. The characters are dysfunctional but have heart and I loved that.
The characters sucked you into the story and keeps you hooked.
The family drama that ensues throughout the book keeps you turning the pages

Very interesting family dynamics. The characters were developed really well, and at times I was rooting for them and at times I was not. However, I loved the complex characters that made me pause and think about the actions and decisions of everyone in this book.
I think this would be a perfect book to bring on vacation. This book really made me want sisters! I do love a good story about sisterhood and secrets!
This definitely will not be my last book by this author!
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the arc in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Sylvie is one of three Peacock sisters. All sisters had a rough childhood emotionally due to family issues, They were close but secrets have wedged some issues between them. One sister is lying to her partner about her desire to be with him while another joined a MLM scam and is hiding her financial problems from everyone. Sylvie is getting married while also having a hard time moving on from her previous relationship.
I overall enjoyed this story but just felt it could have used more details. I wanted to get to know the characters better. Thanks Netgalley for this advanced read.

This was delightful! It was fun to get to know each one of the Peacock sisters and their distinctive personalities over the course of a few days. I did feel like Sylvie was the least defined character even though the premise centered on her upcoming wedding.
There was ongoing sense of tension and mystery and I found myself quickly turning the pages trying to figure out what kind of a person is Simon, as everyone’s secrets and lies begin to unravel. I especially enjoyed the multiple POVs, the castle setting, the decadent menus, and Emma’s love of fragrances and how she recognized scents and was dreaming up her own concoctions. There is a light, easygoing tone throughout despite the characters dealing with various hardships and traumas. 4.5 stars.
Thank you very much to Random House Ballantine and NetGalley for the opportunity to read a copy.

Thanks for the review copy. I enjoyed this book and the relationships. These sisters got on my nerves some but by the end I was rooting for them.

Entertaining family saga charting present day relationships fraught with baggage from the past.
Interesting relationship dynamics among the three sisters, their narcissistic mother, and various romantic partners.
Picturesque settings home & abroad at the destination wedding.
A fun reading romp!

Each of the three Peacock sisters has a secret. Sylvie clings to her first husband even after her whirlwind engagement to the charming, and rich, Simon Rampling. Emma has fallen into the pit of a MLM and sacrificed not only her own personality, but the entirety of her family’s savings. Cloe, fierce and independent, feels stifled in the loving embrace of her long-term, picture-perfect boyfriend. And at the core of each of their stories– the trauma from their childhoods that still motivate their decisions well into adulthood.
A story of sisters who love each other desperately, even if that love beats below the surface, LOVE AND LIARS is truly a book for those of us who are looking for our happily ever after.

“Lovers and Liars” is a delightful novel about sisterhood, love (and yes, lies) by Amanda Eyre Ward.
Don’t all young girls dream of finding their Prince Charming and getting married in an English castle? For school librarian, Sylvia, after ten years of widowhood, that dream is about to come true. Meanwhile, oldest sister Cleo is questioning whether her “boy toy” Danny is someone she wishes to continue to have a relationship with. Finally, middle sister Emma has put her husband and two boys in thousands of dollars of debt because she bought into a pyramid scheme. But Sylvia has not talked to her sisters in quite some time so when Emma and Cleo receive their sister’s text—that she is getting married at Mumberton Castle—they’re shocked but also prepared to stand by Sylvia’s side, even if they have a few secrets of their own to shelter.
Because I am the oldest of three sisters, I related a lot to this story. The dynamics between the three women is one of the novel’s strongest points. Their mother, Donna, helped shape the women into who they are, but when she makes an appearance in the novel (dressed in a knock-off outfit once owned by Princess Diana), I feel I cannot get a grasp of her character. But the breezy writing and descriptions of the castle (I had to google Mumberton Castle to see if it exists) help make this an enjoyable story.
Four out of five stars.
My thanks to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for this great read.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC of Lovers and Liars, what a great book by Amanda Eyre Ward. I enjoyed the book from the very start as it drew me in. It was a quick read with good character development and setting/location. Would definitely recommend. 4/5 stars

A fun, sophistcated and heartwarming family story -- and it is mostly set in an ancient English castle in a quaint village. Of three sisters, the focus is mainly on Sylvie. She's the youngest, and a very young widow. She has found love again with Simon, whose family has owned the castle for many generations. The wedding will take place there, and of course, she invites her sister Emma, who has a family and lives in their Montana hometown. Emma has some epic secret financial problems. And Cleo, the oldest, a mega-successful New York City lawyer who has been looking for love in the wrong place. Throw in their problematic mother and you have a terrific page-turner! I look forward to recommending this title.

This was a great vacation, feel good read. I enjoyed all of the characters and it demonstrates the all the intricate messinesses of families and bonds of sisterhood.

This book highlights the importance of sisterhood and the support and love that comes with each interaction especially in light of the fact that the three sisters grew up with a narcissist whom only thought of herself. Donna's actions were simply to satisfy her wants at the time and such as having Emma sit in a field while she met with Noah, it was a purely selfish ploy. It is understandable that each sister tried to fight their own battle and harden themselves to those who wanted in. Each had their own issues such as Emma's crippling debt which she kept hidden from Rich, Cleo's knowledge of Alexander and her inability to claim the love that she wanted and deserved and Sylvie's constant feeling of being less then. This book brought out a series of emotions and the reader cannot help but cheer them on in the hopes that they will find happiness. The ending at the castle certainly was unpredictable especially in the light that it was the place that the wedding was to take place. However, alk emerged stronger and when Sylvie married Simon, it was exactly at the right time.
