I usually love Sarah Ready books, but this was my least favorite of hers. The concept is great, kind of Freaky Friday meets romance. Serena and Henry, both physicists in Geneva, Switzerland, hook up one night then end up working together (Henry is her new boss), that is until one day during a storm where they are switched. Serena’s mind is in Henry’s body and vice versa. There is some fun sci fi nerdiness in here. If you read Ghosted, Serena was a best friend who was in Geneva for work. I always love when books take on a side character and give them their own book. Parts of it were fun to read, other parts were too much of a slow burn. This type of magic realism I can handle. I listened to the audiobook and really enjoyed both narrators. I think the main narrator did a fantastic job and being an American girl learning how to speak with a British accent in a male’s body. Both MC’s were fun and relatable. Some of the intimate moments when each character was discovering their new body was hilarious. There were many laugh out loud moments and I loved some of the quirky elements.

I have read some of Sarah's books and I can say with al honesty that she has a wonderful way to make books and stories so uniquely and sweet but with some lightnes to them.
In this book we follow Serena and Henry, we see their growth, their comprension to one another, the falling in love, their past and their future.

I loved this book and every single character in it.

I fully recommend listening and reading this book for a more pleasant expirence.

I recently read Ghosted and really enjoyed it. I was excited to see another book in the series.

What a cute story. Reminiscent of Freaky Friday.

The characters are quirky to say the least. I loved them.

Hilariously funny at times.

A little too much science in some parts for my taste.

I liked how they could feel each others previous experiences when switched. This made the story for me.

I read both the print and Audio versions of this one. I liked the narration.

Thanks to netgalley and W.W Crown for the arc.

I love this series and this one was no exception.

It is fun and different and it kept me laughing.

Serena and Henry, you WILL fall for them and adore their fun, quirky story.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for a chance to read (listen to a great narrator!) and review.

Oh my goodness book! I loved it and may have hugged my kindle after finishing it last night. Ps. I need a physical copy asap.

Ready is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. She excels in writing physical comedy, with so many scenes that had me laughing whole heartedly. She also writes truly heartbreaking scenes that had me reaching for a Kleenex. I loved the Freaky Friday aspect of the story and Serena’s character and growth through out it all was a highlight for me. I also LOVED Henry & that we got to see characters from book one Ghosted (which I loved)! again. This can be read as a standalone —- however reading Ghosted beforehand just adds to the experience. I alternated between the audiobook and e-book and enjoyed both formats. The narrators are amazing!! If you’re a fan of Sophie Kinsella or Katherine Center, I highly recommend adding this book series to your TBR. Ps. Book three is out later this year!!! Woot! Woot!

Thank you NetGalley and W. W. Crown and imprint of Swift & Lewis Publishing for providing me with an advanced audio copy and e-copy. Thank you to Kelsey Navarro Foster and James Anderson Foster for the amazing narration.

I read Ghosted late last year and loved it. Switched is just as good. While not an original concept - sort of Freaky Friday for relationships - it was done really well. The stiff uptight but loving Henry is so sweet. Serious about her career and wary of serious relationships Serena (Ducky) is such a fun character. The dynamics with their families while switched were funny and endearing. I am a continued Sarah Ready fan.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

The squeals that I squealed while listening to this book. Omg I am living for the whole freaky Friday vibe that was going on and I absolutely adored Henry and Serena. I resonated a bit… like a lot … with Serena and I was so glad to see the growth she went through while on this “adventure” with Henry. It was wild from start to finish and I loved their moments. Seeing both of them grow and learn from each other made my heart so happy 🥰 and the narrators helped bring the story to life in a way that reading doesn’t always convey. Kinda forgot there was a second narrator and that caught me by surprise, but it was a happy surprise. What I would give to listen and experience this story for the first time again 🥰🥰 can’t wait for the next book in this series.

I love a good switched bodies story and this one delivered. Think Freaky Friday but with a couple instead of mother/daughter.
They started off as a one night stand, but he falls hard and when she finds out that they will be working together if fizzles out fast. Fast forward to 18 months later and they dislike each when they mysteriously switch! I love how the switch was handles, I love that the author didn't try to explain the switch with science, even though they are both scientists. I love you getting to see them with their families while switched. It was a great book.

Thank you to Netgalley, W.W. Crown, and imprints of Swift & Lewis Publishing LLC, and the author for an advance copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I read Ghosted when it came out and absolutely loved it. When I found out that Sarah Ready had another book in the series I knew I had to read it. And boy was I was happy!

Serena and Henry have the perfect date. But Serena doesn't want commitment so she doesn't continue dating Henry. A year later at work (yes they work together) a system shuts the power down. They both go home but wake up as each other.

Think Freaky Friday but with romance. I flew through this book! The concept had me hooked and kept my interest. I loved Henry experiencing his first period. Serena experiencing her first morning wood...lol. It was great!

I was able to read Ghosted last year as an ARC and enjoyed Ready's unique take on a familiar romance trope, mashing it with science that breaks your brain. It was a little overcomplicated as a story but at least it wasn't the whole 'they were really in a coma' obvious twist. Switched is both similar and a little different. The freaky Friday body switch between the mains is a mash of science and magic. It isn't quite explained; I didn't really need it to be. The uniqueness comes from having the characters be opposite genders and navigating the weird/hilarious/awkward differences of finding yourself in a VERY different body. It has two people who know each other very well but are also complete strangers and it really dives into the idea of being alone and sidelined in situations where you can't be yourself because you aren't yourself.

Anyways, there were moments of this book I loved, made me grin and laugh. Then there were moments that felt too convenient and too cheesy, descriptions that became a little too saccharine and spacey. I was often frustrated by Serena and felt plenty of this conflict could have been wrapped up with a more honest conversation, one that these characters felt capable of having.

Overall, sweet and dorky, this book and this author deserve more attention and I look forward to reading the next book in this cute sciency romance series.

Serena and Henry are scientists, more adept at following their heads than their hearts. But one night changes everything, and they fall in love. The problem? While Henry is ready to dive into a relationship head-first, Sarina fears losing herself and her career. She'd prefer a clean break, but that's impossible to do when you discover that you'll be working together! And where they work becomes critical here, because one night, some machinery goes haywire, and Henry and Serena switch bodies! They embark on a journey to reverse the damage before it's too late, but wind up understanding one another better than they could ever imagine. Will Serena allow herself to love? Will they switch back? You'll have to read to find out! 🥳

I had a great time with this book. I love how the author, Sarah Ready, seamlessly intertwines science and love. Who would ever have thought that you could make physics so poetic? I was so impressed not only by the depth of the story, but by the humor. The graphs and footnotes had me laughing out loud. The quiet moments in which they let their walls down were tremendous. Occasionally I struggled to understand Serena, but as the story unfolded, the author provided clarity.

I loved this audiobook. I enjoyed the female narrator especially. She was the perfect Serena!

Trigger warnings: heart attack suffered by a parent, visiting a relative in the hospital

I received this book from NetGalley. I want to thank NetGalley and the publisher for granting access to this fun romance book.

I read the blurb of the book and I was HOOKED. A 'freakyfridayish book? Yes, PLEASE! And then a bit into the book I realised it's a STEM romance, which made it even better.

Serena and Henry meet one day and they have an instant connection. They have one magical night together, but Serena decides to leave it at that. And she figures she will never see him again...until she discovers Henry will be her new boss! Serena figures that will be the extent of their relationship and they will be just coworkers, but life has a few more twists up the road. So when they end up switching bodies during an electric storm they have to work together to get their bodies back until it's too late...

The book is a fun and easy read and I think it would suit all Ali Hazelwood fans who crave more STEM romances. I liked Serena's character a lot, but Henry wasn't as strong of a male lead as I would have liked for Serena. I have to point out the narrator of the audiobook. I think she did a wonderful job. And for all the spice lovers (or haters), there is a bit of spice at the end of the book, but nothing too wild.

This is an adorable paranormal romance. This is an unexpected gem of a romance. Ducky and Henry share a hot first night stand, then a period of working together, then a switcheroo, then an adorable HEA. A really nicely narrated romance.

Overall
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 stars
* Yay: second chance romance | workplace romance | fake dating | he falls harder
* Nay: I didn’t really vibe with the male actor’s voice? Made the MMC sound way older than what I was picturing.

Plot
Freaky Friday, but make it romance. Serena and Henry meet and have perfect chemistry, but after one night, it doesn’t go anywhere. Serena shuts it down even though she felt like she was falling in love. After that, they end up working for the same company and in a twisted science mishap, they switch bodies. It takes a lot of self discovery through the others’ eye before they can put aside the hurt from the past and move forward together.
* Yay: A plot that I never thought that I would see outside of fanfictions. Have a read a million and one Harry Potter and MHA body swap fanfics? Yes, it’s actually one of my favorites. But I never thought I’d see it in a real life romance novel and I couldn’t be more pleased!
* Nay: It was way more sad than I anticipated? I cried. Like actually cried! Both Serena and Henry needing to be on the outside of big family events because they’re not in their correct bodies literally tore my heart out and football spiked it on the ground. But this was also amazing? The sadness itself is not the nay..it’s not expecting it that caused the nay. I actually love when books can make me cry.

Characters
👩🏻‍🔬 Serena has about as damaging of a past as someone can have for actually have a really good childhood and great parenting. There’s just one influence of the women in her family and how they and in relationships, and it damages how she views her own ability to have love. I relate to this incredibly hard, so it’s the first time in a long time that I’ve actually enjoyed the typical “oh no, we can’t be together” drama.

🧑🏼‍🔬 Henry. Oh Henry. I might just be a little obsessed with Henry. I see no flaws! Everyone is supposed to have a flaw. Where’s his? He falls hard and loves with his whole existence? Oops..that’s relatable. And sometimes I do think that’s a personal flaw of mine, so let’s stick with that. But I think that Henry deserves the WORLD!

Final Thoughts
I had no idea that this book was the second in a series when I picked up the ARC. ALC? If it’s an audiobook, is it an advanced listener copy? Unimportant. What is important that I was so thoroughly obsessed with this story that I will immediately be picking up Ghosted and giving that one a try as well.

**Thank you NetGalley and Sarah Ready for the ARC, and for giving me the opportunity to listen to and review this book.**

**Thank you to Sarah Ready, W.W. Crown & NetGalley for allowing me to receive an ARC audiobook of Switched in exchange for my honest review!!** This is a very interesting book. I definitely had a hard time getting into it. I had to work to really suspend my disbelief. I went in with a certain level of disbelief just because the book obviously deals with a fantastical event. Serena's character was definitely someone that you had to view as unrealistic. (She has 2 Ph.D.'s at 22? That's not even mathematically possible!) I did end up enjoying it. I loved the narrator, I think that it was fun to listen to and it helped with the issues I had with the more fantastical elements. At first I assumed it would be a dual POV because of the dual narrators, but this is only one POV. I would have loved to see more of Henry's POV!

I loved this book so much! I was a little put off in the very beginning by all the footnotes and diagrams and Serena's random ramblings, but ended up absolutely loving the story. I thought this was such a unique read! I loved both Serena and Henry, their families, how the two got to know each other and everything else about it. I was caught off guard by one of the last chapters when the male narrator read Henry's part. I thought the voice was fit for someone like Serena's grandfather rather than Henry. But perfect book and listen otherwise! Sarah Ready is a must read author for me, but this might be my favorite book of hers. I'll go look out for Fiona's story now.

Switched- Ghosted Book #2

By Sarah Ready- read Ghosted gave it 4* & French Holiday 4*

Rating: 5/5

Format: eBook 338 pgs. and audiobook run time: 10:01

Narrator: Kelsey Navarro Foster and James Anderson Foster. Story told by h Serena with one chapter w/ H . I loved Henry and his family's British accent. All the voices were distinct but I could easily tell the difference between all characters. The reading style brought the story to life and the pacing was great and flowed easily with the story. The narration and the author were in sync, and they fit together perfectly.

The audiobook's flow was pretty good. The narrators paused and announced every time a new chapter came. The book had a table of contents which helped me follow along with the e-book and audio.

Setting: Switzerland

Publication 2/20/24, Read 2/19/24

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher W.W. Crown & Swift & Lewis Publishing LLC for this ARC and ACL 💜! I voluntarily give an honest review and all opinions expressed are my own.

What to Expect: Contemporary Romance, fake dating, forced proximity, one night stand, STEMinist Fic, insta-love,

Summary: Serena is a theoretical physicist in Geneva who doesn't believe in love. She has hook ups and goes back to physics-her 1st and only love. Henry, a physicist himself, believes in true love and after a one night stand with the beautiful "Duckie" he thought he met the one. She tells him they just had fun a year later working together. Henry is the project leader and Serena's boss. One night there's an electrically storm and Serena and Henry wake up having switched bodies. They spend the rest of time adjusting to being each other and their real feelings.

The characters:
Serena Duckie Otaki- from California, theoretical physicist working on the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
Henry Joules-British, had his v-card, Serena was his 1st.
Jillian-h from book #1, Serena's BFF.
John-Henry's brother getting married in England to Olivia-Henry the best man
Lorna-a bridesmaid and Henry's ex
Eugenia+ Charles-Henry's parents
Caroline + Matt-Serena's parents

My Thoughts:

Overall, the romance was remarkable. Serena was so against love, but learned while in Henry's body what it truly felt like. I loved all the wedding stuff and their time with Serena's parents. I'd recommend reading the audiobook because you can adjust the speed, skip parts easily (if desired), and picture the characters more vividly.

I’ve ready a couple books by Sarah Ready before, but this is my first of her fantasy romances. I didn’t realize it was book #2 in the series, but I don’t think it impacted this storyline since it’s a separate couple. I placed the hold for book #1 a few hours into this audiobook!

I loved this lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers-again Freaky Friday! Sarah Ready never disappoints. This book is nerdy, sentimental, emotional, and funny. There’s a little bit of spice, but it isn’t smut. A body-switch romance is interesting and could easily get weird, but I don’t think it does in this book.

The balance between Serena and Henry is delightful. He wants to love and she is hesitant to let him. Only when they spend a day (or multiple) in each other’s shoes do they really understand how to love each other the way they need to.

I highly recommend the audiobook. The narration is hilarious and adds such an extra charm to this love story.

Switched by Sarah Ready was unlike anything I have read. I loved it! This book is all about soulmates at a cosmic level between Serena and Henry. I listened to the audiobook all in one day. Serena and Henry had a one-night stand before they realized they would be colleagues. A few years later, they switch bodies during a cosmic event in the science lab where they both work. Throughout the rest of the book, they need to figure out how to switch back. I laughed so many times with the shenanigans Serena and Henry went through. I especially appreciated the part where a male was experiencing a menstrual cycle! (so funny and validating!) This was an excellent book and another winner from Sarah Ready. I would highly recommend the audiobook because it was done so well.

Thank you to the author and Netgalley from this ALC.

I am always going to be here for a new Sarah Ready book. While this one started slow, it finished strong. I enjoyed the characters, the banter, and the romance. I also loved that the narrators are a real couple. I can't wait for book 3 in this series.
