I was able to listen to this look via an ARC Audiobook and I LOVED IT!!! The storyline is so fun, I found myself literally laughing out loud. This is a Freaky Friday turned RomCom. I was slightly worried going into this book because of the story line it could have very easily gotten "cringe, weird or awkward" but I am VERY PLEASED with how Sarah Ready wrote this story. The FMC is very relatable with great story development. The MMC is a British cinnamon roll turned ice-cold grumpy! I highly enjoyed the pace of the story and character development of each character.
The narrators were amazing!
I highly recommend this audio book!

Both are scientists,it seems that the universe has a big surprise for them,because particles collide and somehow…Serena is in Henry’s body,and Henry in Serena’s. Now it’s a race against time to figure out how to fix it. If they only knew the answer is right in front of them.

Such a fun read this was,and if you liked Freaky Friday and Big Bang Theory you will definitely love this one.

I’m a bit disappointed with this one! I read Ghosted last month and absolutely ADORED it so was so excited to find out there was a sequel about Serena! And the premise of this was quite exciting, a freaky Friday romance vibe… however this just wasn’t for me. I struggled to get through this mainly due to the narrator, I eventually got used to the way she enunciated words but it was a bit unbearable at times, and when the male narrator came in towards the end I couldn’t understand a word and couldn’t wait for the chapter to be over😭 there wasn’t enough romance in this for me either and it just all seemed quite wooden. I’m not sure - maybe I’d have preferred it if I read a physical copy instead of listening to the audiobook

If you love the fantastical elements of Ashley Poston's novels and the banter between main characters in Ali Hazelwood's writing, this might just be the book for you!

Was it a bit predictable? Sure! But did that stop me from absolutely eating it up? Not a chance!

I didn't realize that this was a standalone sequel when I started the book, but I will definitely be checking out "Ghosted" after this!

Serena and Henry meet at a pub and have an instant connection. Henry helps Serena out of a sticky situation and it becomes apparent there are real feelings. Serena finds out Henry is her new boss, so she runs. Two years later, Serena is delivering a report to Henry on a stormy night. Magic happens and they wake up In each other’s bodies. They have to figure out how to switch back before they die.

I thoroughly enjoyed this! It was very charming. I literally laughed out loud listening to this audiobook. The characters were very likable and I was really rooting for them.

I also really enjoyed the narrator. Henry is British and the author really nailed Serena trying to do his accent but not quite pulling it off. The flow was really nice and the narrator was emotional during the appropriate parts. I really felt how the characters were feeling.

Very sweet indie romance. Love that we’ve got a smart, career driven MFC working in the sciences.

The swapping was a bit of a stretch for me, but definitely a cute story.

The audiobook narration was good, but didn’t draw me into the story as much as I would’ve liked. The accents were a bit tough.

What a fun romance adventure! This was light-hearted and a quick read listen.

Serena is a theoretical physicist who loves living and working in Geneva at the particle collider. She is determined to never fall in love - it isn't real and she does not want to change who she is for another person.

When she meets Henry, their connection is explosive and they more than collide in their night together. After which, she learns he is about to become her boss and she refuses to be a woman in STEM whose career is put to the wayside because she falls in love. Pushing Henry away only does so much when an electrical storm causes Serena and Henry to collide in a whole new way - a body switching way. Suddenly, Serena is trapped in Henry's body, feeling his feelings, seeing his memories, craving his tea and meat. Henry is stuck as Serena, and they are forced to stay together to try and figure out how to reverse the switch. In their adventure, they begin to understand each other and themselves better.

The sparks that fly are undeniable in this one! Check this out if you're looking for:

I adored the narration in this one! Hearing Serena's voice come to life, with the memories and thoughts and feelings she experienced as Henry was absolutely delightful and at times laugh out loud funny. I highly recommend. Also the one chapter in Henry's POV was a treat not to be missed!

It only takes one night together for Serena and Henry to realize how truly opposite they are. The universe has other plans for them when a work accident has them trading bodies. While they work to find a way to switch back, they begin to find out they may have more in common than they originally thought.

Switched is the second book in the Ghosted series. It can be read as a stand-alone. Switched is not quite a paranormal romance, like Ghosted, but is more in the contemporary, magical realism realm. The book is mild on the spice scale but there is some innuendo throughout.

The addition of fake dating gives this “freaky friday” plot a unique twist. The author’s sense of humor really shines through especially in the banter. The slowburn is definitely necessary as the MCs are more focused on getting back into their correct body rather than each other’s pants (at first).

The audiobook is predominantly narrated by Kelsey Navarro Foster with James Anderson Foster narrating a single chapter. Kelsey Navarro Foster is consistently one of my favorites. She does an excellent job bringing each of the characters to life and does well with keeping all of the voices and accents separate. Although there is only one chapter from the POV of the MMC, James Anderson Foster does well giving it the impact it deserves.

Sarah Ready’s distinctive style and relatable characters continue to keep her as one of my most recommended contemporary romance authors. I look forward to seeing what she has next for her readers.

I tried to listen to this book but I didn’t really connect with the story. It’s not a bad book and the story seemed very interesting, just really didn’t connect with it.

This was a great follow up novel, I like the freaky Friday vibes and find it to be a fun quick read. The pacing was good and the characters likable.

I had high hopes for this Sarah Ready book. I read Ghosted in 2023 and remember it so fondly. I was excited to see that Sarah had written another similar book.

However, this one fell short for me. I listened to this as an audio and it just didn't hold me attention like the first one. It wasn't bad, it was just unremarkable.
There were cute moments in the love story, but I wont think back to this book and remember it after this review.

I was literally laughing out loud, hardcore cringing at the awkward moments, and appreciating the science and nerdy talk throughout this entire book. Henry and Serena go from strangers to a one night stand full of love and potential to a standoffish boss & employee relationship to swapping bodies (think Freaky Friday) in this opposites attract rom-com.

The inner monologue of Serena was absolutely hilarious! I listened to this on audio and I found it to be very relatable as I listened to the narrator - that is whenever Serena was in her own body. Although the inner monologue just gets even more funny once she swaps bodies with Henry. There are probably just as many cringey moments as well while they navigate being in completely different bodies of the opposite sex - I am someone that gets secondhand embarrassment so hard, but I still loved listening to those moments as I had the audiobook version. I also loved all the science talk throughout the story. Switched reminded me of an Ali Hazelwood, STEMinist novel, but with more laughs and less spice! I love when a book shows that smart girls can have both their career and love ♥️

This book is the second installment in the Ghosted series but can be read as a standalone. I read this one as a standalone and was not confused, but I can't wait to go and read the first one now!

I really loved both the FMC and MMC and the development of both throughout., The freaky friday trope was very well done and the whole story progressed well. The start was a bit slow to get going but once it got going it was very enjoyable. I loved how both characters dealt with the switch and was interesting to hear their perspectives on it. The narrator was great for the audiobook version also.

This book was so cute! Think freaky Friday meets romcom.

The beginning of it was a little bit slow, but after a few chapters, it picks up and it’s nearly impossible to put down !

"Switched" took me on an emotional rollercoaster, especially with the semi-breakup between Henry and Serena – I was practically feeling the HURT.
I must say though, the Freaky Friday vibes were kinda cool, and I couldn't help but chuckle at their hilarious impressions of each other – it was a riot! The forced situation trope, akin to '2 people, 1 bed,' took an unexpected twist as they found themselves swapped into each other's lives.
Yearning for Henry’s POV in Serena’s body added an intriguing layer, making me ponder whether Henry, in Serena's shoes, would feel the same emotions that Serena was feeling in Henry’s. The pressure on Serena to hold the family together added depth to the storyline, making it more than just a typical body-swap tale.
Although the audio got a tad bizarre with the need to explain drawings, and Henry’s voice actor skipped the accent, it didn't overshadow the overall enjoyment. The impressions, combined with the entertaining narrative, made "Switched" a delightful read – or should I say, listen.

Honestly, Sarah Ready books are a solid choice. I've listened to several of them and they are always a solid 4 star listen. Maybe higher even.

Hilariously, I started Ghosted (book 1 in this series) and I haven't finished it (not the books fault, I was thoroughly enjoying it), but then I picked up this book, not realizing it was book 2, and finished it in a day.

Do you love science nerds? Do you love Freaky Friday? Do you love a California girl and an English boy? Do you love second chance and hints of enemies to lovers and also fake dating? Multiple scenes of ONLY ONE BED! Great. Pick this up.

Serena and Henry meet and share an AMAZING night together. But then Henry pulls a Ted Mosby and basically confesses his love on the first date. Serena...feeling the same but also very against falling in love, shatters the poor man's heart. Also...she just found out he's her new boss.

Cut to a year and a half of them working together and it's been nothing but tense, and then BOOM they have a Freaky Friday moment and wake up in each other's bodies.

With a wedding and a sick family member, they have to travel to England and the US together, posing as each other's significant other.

The most refreshing part of this is we had a male lead that wasn't afraid to talk about his feelings. Henry was a delight and I loved listening to the two of them have to lean on each other and comfort the other while feeling like outsiders in their own lives.

4 solid stars.

My minor complaint was the male narrator that pops up, and I'm sorry! I'm sure he is a delightful narrator (and possibly the husband of the female because of their names?) but he felt too old for the part and I could hear it in his voice. Especially when you go like, 11 hours listening to the female narrate both parts and then this gruff older British man pops in to take over for a chapter. It just took me out of it a bit.

I really wish I had liked this book a bit better. Generally speaking, I love Freaky Friday type stories. This one just fell a bit flat for me. I didn't quite understand the motive behind why Serena chose to handle things the way she did. In some ways she acted sort of cruelly and I didn't really like that. I enjoyed the family dynamic that Henry had with his family and the connection that Serena had with her friend from the first book, Ghosted. One thing I did really enjoy are the narrators. I thought they did an excellent job. I usually enjoy Sarah Ready but this is not my favorite of hers. I am excited to read her next book.

I will read anything Sarah Ready writes and I am not kidding. She has this unique ability to capture you from the beginning and come up with cute rom-com plots that aren't just your ordinary stories. This one, for instance, takes the idea of Freaky Friday and uses it to creative love. It is very interesting to see how the two main characters cope with their switch. I enjoyed listening to them navigate events with family as the other person, especially when big plot points are happening. There were so many times during this story that I just completely zoned everything else out and was doing nothing but sitting and listening to the audiobook. To me, that is always a sign of an amazing book.

The narrator is great, too!

I’m just going to say it: this book was an electrical storm that smashed my heart like an atom.

Wowza. Not since The Love Hypothesis have I experienced a “Women in STEM” storyline that didn’t feel forced … fans of that book will likely love this one as well!

Serena and Henry are strong yet relatable characters. In all their iterations. The supporting cast here is fleeting and didn’t impact the story heavily one way or another but there wasn’t anyone I hated or “loved to hate” here other than Lorna.

I did find myself laughing out loud in multiple instances so this can safely be called a “smart romcom with some magical realism” in my opinion.

Like a Freaky Friday rom-com. Two coworkers switch bodies, hilarity and clarity ensue. Despite it revolving around the science world (main character is a theoretical physicist and that subject can go off on tangents quickly, lol) it's a mostly light hearted, quick read.
