So this book wasn't as impactful as Ghosted for me. I was excited for Serena's storyline, and a swapped souls romance sounded interesting, but the romance for this just didn't feel as impactful for me. The insta-love was unrealistic for me, but I did love how much of a golden retriever Henry ended up being throughout the book. Overall, not the greatest romance, but I still enjoyed its uniqueness!

I really enjoy Sarah Ready's books and they are fantastic on Audio too! This is the second book from the, "Ghosted" series. It can most definitely be read as a standalone. The series is a fun and unique concept.

Serena is a physicist and Star Trek junkie (she's Gillian's best friend from the first book.). She meets the strait laced British man, Henry and one night sparks fly. Literally! There's an electrical storm and suddenly their bodies switch! It's a fun story. I liked the first one slightly more than this one but still an entertaining listen.

I alternated between reading and listening to "Switched" by Sarah Ready, which is my preferred way to tackle a book. The narrator in the audiobook was charming and pleasant to listen to. In fact, I sometimes missed her when I was reading some of the more comical parts of the story (such as when Serena was first attempting a posh British accent). In the e-book, the numerous footnotes are easily accessed, and also included a "how to" to teach you how to get to them. I also found Serena's illustrations charming.

The author developed Serena and Henry beautifully and made you get a feel for both of the characters. She struck a perfect balance between humor and emotion. I found this to be a fast, enjoyable read. I finished it in less than a day, so I obviously couldn't put it down.

I grabbed this ARC from NetGalley because, as a scientist, I gravitate towards STEM themed books. This mentioned CERN and physics. I read Sarah Ready’s Josh and Gemma and really enjoyed it. I am a sucker for 90s romcoms and that book reminded me of one. I was looking forward to another by this author.

I’m not going to lie. I got 10% or so in and got a bit meh/cringe vibes. Those quickly dissipated. I really related with Serena and her views on love/losing yourself in relationships.

There was one line that I wrote down that I liked, “magic is science we haven’t explained yet.”

Was the book plausible? No. However, I like the fine line they discussed between physics and the unknown. I feel like many science people live that line between the known and unknown.

I was recently sent an ARC for Switched by Sarah Ready from @netgalley and OH MY GOSH I LOVED THIS BOOK. This was the first book I’d read by Sarah, and it was so adorable and had me giggling and kicking my feet. Such a cool spin for a Freaky Friday retelling. Definitely add this to your TBR in February!

3.75/4 ⭐️ this book really surprised me. The story and plot were way more interesting than I expected and I was truly invested in these characters lives to see what would happen next. I think the mix of STEM and magic was so great and written very well. The part that got me was the ending. I listened to this book and I felt like the last 40 mins could have been left out of the story and that’s what ultimately brought the rating down for me. But aside from the end I really enjoyed this book 📚✨

It was a sweet story, very light and easy to read. The main female character felt a bit too 2-dimensional at first, but developed well throughout. It felt reminiscent of Ali Hazlewood with the science woven within the story without feeling redundant.

I love Sarah Ready and I find her books entertaining.

This was Freaky Friday but... romantic? Which was a little hard to get behind because, like, are you gonna kiss yourself but in another body? Somehow, she wrote it in a way that wasn't creepy and I was rooting hard for these two. I don't know how she does it!

Nerdy scientists who have a one-night stand and then she finds out he is her new boss and then they pretend to hate each other for a year and then accidentally switch bodies in a thunder storm and then... wait for it... fall in love?!?! Sign me up.

A perfect diversion.

I listened to an arc audiobook for this book from NetGalley and really enjoyed it

I’d say the audiobook might not be the way to go for this story bc there were clearly images on the page sometimes that were described by the narrator but overall would have been better to actually see them.

I thought the story was super cute and loved the freaky Friday body swap vibes. I thought the characters were cute and def cute together. And watching them be in each others bodies was very funny. I def had hopes for where the body swap was going but it didn’t pan out. It was a very cute and sweet rom com with basically no spice. Definitely interested to read the other books in this world!

mystical realism meets a "steminist" novel but without the spice of a typical romance. We meet particle physicist Serena in a bar in Geneva where is rescued from a literal sticky situation where her pants are glued to a seat, by Henry. A whirlwind 1 night stand for Serena and love at first sight for Henry, this romance is doomed. After a freak accident in the lab were they both work causes them to switch bodies the two must learn to understand each other to navigate this situation.
I had such high expectations after the first few chapters; there was a great hook and funny dialog but then I felt like this book was switched and it became much deeper than I anticipated. The introspection the main character goes through was heavy and the relationship with Henry lost a lot of the light and airy aspects you expect from a typical romance. I think this book was a bit too long and missing a sense of whimsy that should accompany a story with a "freaky Friday" plotline.
I feel like this book in a audio format doesn't work well. There was a lot of visual graphs and diagrams that were used to enhance the story and characters but it didn't work for me in the audio format.

Firstly, I really enjoyed this book. Based on the desciption, I thought this was going to be a similar re-telling of Freaky Friday but translated into the romance genre, but it's so much more than that. The book starts a bit slow in the first few chapters but once you get through those, it's fast-paced and exciting. This book has the feel-good energy of a cozy romance but with the twists and turns of trying to solve a mystery along with the emotional growth and family dynamics of contemporary fiction. I haven't read much from Sarah, but now I'll be on the lookout to read more.

Like every other book by this author, "Switched" is a well thought out masterpiece. Much like Ghosted, the first book in the series which stars Serena's best friend- Gillian, the story focuses on the characters and central idea first, the plot coming later.

The idea of this novel really reminds me of "Mother's Day" by JB Priestly, where the two MCs purposely switch bodies. This, however, takes on a romantic storyline and with both MCs being scientists, I loved the bits of information thrown around. I listened to the audiobook, but I still loved the footnotes so much!

So, there's many scenes in the book which I absolutely adore, but here's my favorites- their meet cute, Henry/Serena meets Serena's dad, the 'Ducky' story, Purrk, and Serena/Henry's period. I can't give away too much detail obviously, but I promise I'm not exaggerating when I say this was the most fun, I've had with a book this year. I enjoyed this so much and would've finished it in a day if not for another page turning book I was reading simultaneously (which I finished in a day.)

I don't know how to say it better than this, but Henry and Serena were perfect together. They're cozy and lovable, very easy to root for, I FELT for them. I wanted to spend more time with them, and they became the good friends filling you in on life while you laugh along with them. Of course, seeing Jillian and Daniel again was just a bonus to this super comfy read.

Now what I haven't mentioned yet is that Henry is British and Serena is American. So, with different bodies, they need to learn to fake a new accent. And this is where the narrator Kelsey comes in and plays a BIG role in making me treasure this story. She performed every voice and accent with perfection and conviction, sometimes switching accents so quickly, it's seamless. I've loved her and James (James narrates one chapter from Henry's perspective) in previous audiobooks, and I am again in awe of their voices, with Kelsey narrating most of the story on her own. Obviously, I think you should listen to this as an audiobook because I think you may love it too.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, Sarah Ready has incredible writing style and I love her work so much. I think she deserves the world and will keep reading more books by her. Can't wait for the next books, so it's probably time for a reread.

I loved the narrators first of all. This was such a cute freaky Friday romance. I’ve personally never read any other freaky Friday inspired romance! I loved that both characters had insta love! As well as second chance love. I don’t want to spoil anything so I won’t say much more. I just loved how the characters interacted. I loved both of their families as well. I loved that Serena was a woman in STEM. Definitely recommend!

This book is a fun take on romance with a freaky Friday twist to it. While the writing style was a bit different, I did quite enjoy it. Unfortunately, there were also places where I ended up getting kind of lost because of it. Overall, it was a very cute story and if you enjoy forced proximity and the freaky Friday vibe you will enjoy this.

I found this difficult to get through in the beginning. Granted, I listened on audiobook and the narrators voice wasn’t my favorite so that probably had a lot to do with it. However, im glad I stuck with it because it got better. It was a cool concept and decently written.

But then, plot twist: Serena finds out Henry's her new boss at CERN, a super fancy physics lab. So, Serena decides to switch gears and starts acting all distant to push Henry away. The rest of the story brings the two back together on a journey of discovery.

I loved this book. As usual this author delivers. The FMC doesn't believe she can have a successful career and a relationship at the same time. Growing up watching her mom give her whole life to being a mother and wife has made her believe she had to choose between love or a career. The universe however will show her the way. This book will make you laugh and cry and has so many enlightening moments. I'm loving this series!

This is a fun, entertaining, good read. Henry and Serena are interesting, relatable, intriguing, entertaining, fun, captivating, complex characters. These two captured my attention from the start and held it until the very end – I loved their meet cute. The growth of the characters through out the course of the story is fun to read. I loved the family and friend aspects of the story. The romance is very fitting for these characters and this series. The various secondary characters added to the fabric of the story and my enjoyment. I love that we got to see the couple from the first book in the series and that we got an epilogue. This series is quirky and fun to read. The book is easy to get into and read. Given the story plot, I wish we had gotten more from Henry’s perspective – would have been fun 😊.

I enjoyed the audio version of this story and the narrators.

LOVED part 2 of this fun series!! Over the past year Sarah Ready has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I read and listened to Switched and enjoyed it so much!

Serena, a Star Trek loving California girl is all in for work. Henry is on the opposite end of the spectrum. He is a very organized British man who adored his family and of course Physics as well. He wants love, she does not.

These two meet in very strange circumstances and have a one night stand. For him, love at first sight, for her its a not! Fast forward to the very next day when he discovers why she left so abruptly, they work together. They spend years working side by side but as nothing more than friends. That is until one night things get a little crazy and they switch bodies, like a Freaky Friday switch.

Either way things play out, their lives are forever changed.

Great feel good romantic comedy with science and sci-fi, the perfect mix! The narrators of this book were very good as well which made for a very enjoyable read/listen! Serena and Henry meet and have an amazing time together, only for Serena to discover they will be working together. Serena has commitment issues and hilarity ensues.
