A beautiful book about loss, grief, and (climate) change. When people and things die, what happens to them? Do they completely cease to exist or are they still with us somehow, lurking in the corners of our memories? Or even just lurking in the the corner of our rooms? It's a melancholy book, to be sure, but I found hope in it: there's something to be gained in mulling in the dark parts of our brokenness. There's something to be gained from listening to the whispers from the past (and future).

I am loathe to write in more detail about this book, as I think it's best to experience yourself. I highly recommend the audiobook (expertly narrated by Caroline Hewitt), as a huge theme of the book is hearing voices broadcasted from a local radio tower. Listening to the audiobook helped transport me into the world of the book.

A wonderful debut novel.
