"Take the Lead: How Women Leaders are Driving Success through Innovation" by Shaheena Janjuha-Jivraj, Anne-Valérie Corboz and Delphine Mourot is an essential read for anyone who is a leader or aspiring to become one. With only 26% of leadership positions held by women, the book doesn’t stop at just highlighting the gender gap; it offers practical strategies and inspiration by combining academic research with corporate expertise. The interviews with female leaders from global organisations is where the book really shines, covering topics such as managing conflict, building confidence, growing networks, and shaping careers. These can help you challenge ingrained habits and unconscious biases.
As a female leader, this was a great book to get stuck in to. I need to learn more. I will be purchasing this book and sharing it!
Take the Lead was everything I needed to hear at this stage in my career.
As a female leader in a large organization, I am in the early phases building my career path towards an executive position. The advice given in this book, especially the Seven C's (Seas?), have given me a solid foundation and actionable strategies as I plan to achieve my career ambitions. Each chapter builds upon the previous learnings and ends with a section titled "Take the Lead". These sections encourage reads to reflect on their journey and demonstrate how they execute on the strategies they have just learned.
I would highly recommend this book to aspiring leaders looking to boost their skills and take their careers to the next level.
This is a great book every woman should have. It doesn't matter if you are an employee, entrepreneur or leader, as long as you aspire to greatness in your chosen field this serves as a great resource. I will definitely purchase a copy for my personal library.
