Is Your Work Worth It? is a well-written, provocative book exploring work's meaning. It is grounded in the recent distinctions between a job, a career, and a calling. Despite suggestions from positive psychologists that a calling is critical for flourishing, this book challenges people's knee-jerk negative response to those who work to live (i.e., have a job) and suggests that too often, people live to work (i.e., have a calling). I highly recommend it to any who wants to ponder work-life balance and explore whether their work is worth it.

This is exactly the kind of book that I needed right now. With a national reckoning over work conditions and employee behavior, this helped solidify my own stance on what bosses and employees owe each other, and what we each ow to ourselves.

Timely and relevant. A recommended purchase for nonfiction collections where self-help and career titles are popular.
