Story set in the 80’s about a woman coping with her sexuality, a strange ex husband, their child who is developmentally delayed and her reaction / denial of it. This coasts along gently , she doesn’t seem to know what she wants, and seems to float around. Kind of dragged a bit for me.

I enjoyed the story, but I felt the storytelling was a bit slow. The relationships between the main characters felt earnest which I really appreciated.

This author and book weren't on my radar but I thought I'd give it a chance and I'm so glad I did. I absolutely adored reading this and spending time with the protagonist Rose as she navigates friendships, relationships, a career and motherhood.
