I really enjoyed this book. Her best friend disappeared and now someone is after Amy. Sergeant Jackson and K-9 Hudson come to help protect her and find out what’s going on. Lots of action and suspense as they try and solve a cold case. Faith plays a part and there is some light romance too.

Amy Scott has been taking care of the Clearwater Bookstore since the owner, her best friend Gemma, went missing. Gemma’s car was found in the lake, but Amy refuses to believe that she is gone. Gemma’s brother, RCMP Sergeant Jackson Locke and his K9 Hudson, arrive in town to search for his sister. He has known Amy since they were younger, but she doesn’t recognize him. She is pregnant and her marriage was annulled when her husband left her, taking her money. She now finds it difficult to trust, but Jackson proved himself when he rescued her from a man who tried to kidnap her. He is there for her when someone breaks into the bookstore, obviously looking for something, but who and what? They learn that Gemma was investigating the suspicious deaths of three elderly residents at a local nursing home. Is this why she is missing and is she still alive? Worried for her baby, can Jackson and Hudson keep Amy and her baby safe? Enjoyable characters, a sweet romance, a bit of suspense and a mystery with a twist! I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

I enjoyed this book. I do feel like all the praying is a bit excessive but otherwise… I enjoyed the characters and especially the dogs & Reepi. I’m glad justice is found, but this really highlights that many cases are unsolved. I truly did not suspect the husband was involved in anything. #ColdCaseTracker #NetGalley

Grabbed Me From the Start

Cold Case Tracker is an excellent suspense that grabbed me right from the start. Following Amy and Jackson, along with the other characters, had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. There are other key elements that accompany the mystery. These include moving forward from past hurts, forgiveness, faith, new beginnings, and love. All of these are blended together flawlessly, making this a story that is well worth reading.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin for providing me with a copy of this book. All comments and opinions are voluntary and completely my own.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

Amy returns to her best friend Gemma’s home after fleeing from her husband and a terrible situation. Gemma has disappeared and her brother Jackson has come back to search for her.

Little did Jackson and Amy know the danger that was lurking in the community. Many break ins and kidnapping attempts occur and Jackson fights to keep Amy safe. Danger and kept secrets could keep these two apart but will Love win?

Great Love Inspired Read!

Cold Case Tracker was a good book. It started off slow but then improved a lot as the book went on! Amy, Jackson & Gemma's story was neat to watch unfold. There were several little side plots that kept one guessing the entire time. Also, the k-9 unit is always a wonderful addition!

I love a good clean mystery that deals with K-9’s and Maggie Black has provided that in this story. It drew me in and kept me guessing from page 1. That is how you know you are reading a good book written by a talented author. This book is from the Love Inspired Suspense series and is scheduled to release April 1, 2024.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher. All words are my own.

"Cold Case Tracker" is a Christian romantic suspense. Sergeant Jackson (with his K9) is searching for his missing sister and needs to interview her best friend, Amy, who was also his teen crush. He's ashamed of the stupid pranks and mistakes he made as a teenager, though, and so let's her think he's someone else after he saves her from an attack. Someone's looking for something his sister had and they seem to think Amy knows where it is. He protects Amy while they work together to solve what his sister was doing when she disappeared.

The main characters were likable and reacted realistically to events. Jackson admired Amy's fight and determination while Amy liked his caring. They built each other up. Amy felt stupid about being fooled romantically by a man, and Jackson couldn't forgive himself for his youthful mistakes. There was plenty of suspense due to danger from the unknown enemy. The Christian theme was forgiveness. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this enjoyable suspense.

In Ontario, we find ourselves embroiled in the middle of a couple different crimes. One of these is a cold case, for which there is no dedicated team who works to solve them and bring both closure and justice. In this Christian romantic suspense, we get a bit of a different approach to the “best friend’s brother” trope here as many years have passed between childhood and our present day. Our heroine, deeply pregnant, is strong and sure. She’s a great friend and an integral part of this book. Our hero is plagued with his past and has a soft heart. From the beginning this book is filled with suspense and danger. We have an adorable K9 partner who does a lot of work, very well. This was an engaging read and I’m curious to see where this series will take us.

I received an eARC of this book from the publisher through NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

I love cold case mystery stories and this was a great inspirational romantic suspense. The mystery was just as interesting and fun as the romance.

A captivating Christian romantic suspense. The characters had me caring about them from the beginning. It kept me guessing and there are many surprises. I appreciated the variance in type font for the prayers. I easily skipped over those. I read this genre for what it doesn't contain and am grateful when the Christian portion is kept to a minimum. I am eager to read the next unsolved case. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.

Amy's friend Gemma is missing and someone has grabbed a pregnant Amy in order to find something he needs. Enter Sergeant Jackson Locke and his lovable K-9 German Shepherd partner, Hudson. It is up to them to solve the mystery. There is only one catch. Amy knew him as the brother of her friend and he made some mistakes as a kid. Not telling her who he really is at first sounds like a good idea to get her to trust him but is it a smart idea? You will need to read the book to find out what she will do when she finds out about him and figures out what happened to her beloved friend.

The action scenes in this book were really well done. I like the pacing a lot and it will definitely keep your interest.

I love the way that Hudson was portrayed. He is protective yet sweet all the same time as a typical shepherd usually is. I loved when Reepi (the parrot) landed on his head. It just shows you how sweet he is. It is so wonderful to see how big of a role he played in this book. He definitely had the opportunity to shine throughout the book and during the ending scenes.

There were a lot of twists and turns that kept me guessing. I love that it was not at all predictable. I could easily see this one being made into a romantic mystery movie on one of the popular romance networks.

This is my first time reading a book by this author but I'm going back for some of her others after reading this one!
