Another great book by the author that pulls you in from the beginning with the drama and suspense. Every chapter seems to bring another problem but it makes the reader want to keep reading and not put the book down. Hudson, Jackson and Amy were great characters!

Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own

K-9 officer, missing woman, killer on the loose - these all add up to a fast-paced suspense novel. Jackson Locke's sister has vanished, and he heads to her hometown to try and locate her. But when he enters her bookstore, he comes face-to-face with an old acquaintance and sparks fly. Amy Scout has problems of her own - someone wants her dead! Will she work with Jackson to stay alive and help find his sister? Or will she thwart his plans? Will they find his sister and uncover who wants Amy dead? Another great read by Maggie K. Black.

I was gifted a complimentary copy of this novel by the publisher through NetGalley and express my thanks to both. All opinions and thoughts are solely my own.

This book was well written, it hooked me from the beginning, and it kept me guessing the entire book.
I loved these characters, they felt real and relatable. They were the kind of people I'd like to know in real life.
I would recommend this book to anyone.

Amy's best friend Gemma has disappeared. Left to look after the cabin and bookstore on her own, she does the best she can, while also anticipating the birth of her child and healing from the wounds of her con-artist ex-husband. When Gemma's brother comes to investigate, their unexpected meeting leads to a web of deceit, as only an undercover officer can weave. But he's cared for her a long time and will stand to protect her, as she becomes the target. If you enjoy suspense novels, involving K-9 officers and missing persons, you may enjoy this one.
