This is anything you want to know about ants. When I was a little girl I used to sit for hours and watch a trail if ants in my yard. I still do sometimes to relax. I did not know there were different types and have a deep respect for what they go through. They are intelligent and hard working creatures. This book will surely go into my home library.

Did you know that ants have superpowers? Not just one or two, but TONS. They could give tardigrades a run for their money with how strong and hardy they are.

I feel like the name of the book is a little misleading. I picked it up thinking I was going to get a historical record of ants: how they came to be, where they thrived over the history of the earth, that sort of thing. Instead, this is a book about records that ants have broken. A Guinness-type record book, giving wondrous detail about these mighty and ubiquitous little insects.

If I had to choose a "super" ant, my favorite would be the Bullet Ant of South America, which has the worst venom of any ant sting. It has been compared to a spider wasp, which is worse than a Yellow Paper Wasp and MUCH worse than an angry Fire Ant. Watch out for this one.

My 13 year old with autism is absolutely obsessed with ants. He always loves to have new facts to share with his therapist about them! This is a wonderfully illustrated book with great information on ants for kids!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Ants are so interesting! This book was so much fun to read. It was more a book about ant trivia than records, but the trivia was amazing. I didn't know most of this, which is one reason I love to read children's science books. My favorite fact was about the vampire ants.
Thanks so much to NetGalley for letting me preview this

The Book of Ant Records is full of interesting facts about ants. The language and amount of content would make it a great read-along book for parents with children fascinated by ants. It is a bit longer than the typical children's book, so I would suggest going over it with older children who possess a longer attention span or reading to a younger child in sections. The illustrations are plentiful and varied in content. There were many facts included in this book that a casual observer of nature would not know. My favorite was the difference in lifespan between a Queen bee and a male bee; it was much, much larger than I would have guessed!
Overall, this was a good book covering lots of interesting things about ants!
Thanks to NetGalley and Orca Book Publishers for an advanced copy of this book to review!

Cute and informative. I can see this in classrooms in those science classes. I think elementary age children would love this.

The Book of Ant Récords Is PERFECT for your nature loving / Insect finding wee one ! This book is PACKED with all kinds of TIDBITS large and small facets of information in regards to ants 🐜 and the ant way of life. Unfortunately this book is for ages I would say 7-10 as the information is complex and can be harder to grasp for smaller children but regardless it’s an amazing book of facts that all ages will enjoy especially from its attention grabbing pictures and silly child like wording . This book will make a perfect addition to YOUR cozy booknook / book station.
