One day, Sawyer just doesn't come home
And Diana received a text on her phone
"If you want Sawyer to come home, your husband needs to tell the truth"
Diana and Leo has been married for fifteen years with twin boys, but Diana knows that her marriage is on edge. She knows that Leo has been cheating on her.
Leo met Serena in a real estate conference. While he's really obviously attracted to Serena, unfortunately Serena has a hidden agenda that will ruin Leo's life.
I don't want to reveal too much as I'm worry I'll be giving you spoiler and ruined the suspense of this story. This is not just a story about love affair, it's more than that. It's a big revenge story with unexpected twists. The ending is a bit underwhelming, for me it's kind of not making sense, yet it's kind of making this story different.
This is my first book by Nicole Trope but it definitely won’t be my last. Nicole wove a complicated web in this thriller and there were alot of twists I didn’t see coming, it was a fast paced, enjoyable read.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review
Thanks to #NetGalley and #Bookouture for the book #HisDoubleLife by #NicoleTrope. This book is fantastic. Justice and revenge all wrapped up in this thriller. I read this in one sitting and could not out it down. Much praise!!
This was another excellent, pacy read from Nicole Trope. A dynamic beginning catapults straight into the action.
The scene is set early with plenty of mystery surrounding the main characters, creating a desire to read on and discover more about each of them. I enjoyed the gradual reveal of characterisation too, always wondering what the full picture would be. Nicole Trope writes such well-rounded characters that they leap off the page into your mind. Some draw empathy whilst others, like Leo, portrayed brilliantly, make the reader uncomfortable with his actions.
The short chapters, varying perspectives and storyline jumping back to the past, gradually drawing closer to the present day story, make for a compelling, quick read as the twists and turns held my interest.
I hold great admiration for authors who create strong, intricate layered plots and this one certainly fits that category.
The pace is unrelenting, building palpable tension, leading to a strong conclusion.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC (Advance Reader Copy) of His Double Life by Nicole Trope. This book was written in 3 parts. I found Part 1 to be good and I enjoyed the book. Part 2 really seemed to drag for me but luckily it picked up again for Part 3. It is a domestic suspense novel about secrets and the trouble they cause. This was not a thriller in my opinion. It wasn't bad just not my favourite.
4 Star rating rounded up for me.

Another great Trope read!!
I’ve read almost all of her backlist and it’s always exciting to see what she comes up with next. She writes absolutely fabulous page turners. She does not need fancy twists and turns, this lady can write without all the extra fluff. Brilliantly talented.

A fun read.
Diana loves her husband, Leo, and their ten-year-old twins Rowan and Sawyer. They live in Sydney in a great house and are mostly happy. Diana just wishes that Leo would interact with the boys a little and be home more but Leo is in real-estate and is always working, even when he is at home he is constantly on his phone. Every year Leo has to go away to overnight conferences and Diana suspects he may be cheating while away but has not had the courage to confront him. Leo thinks he is the best sales man in his real-estate firm and thinks he will be in line to manage the place when his boss retires in a few years’ time. He may love his wife but he cheats on her every chance he gets. He may love his boys but he finds them annoying and far too talkative. He would do anything to make a sale even if it’s illegal. Leo loves going to his conferences and that is where he meets enchanting Serena. Leo becomes so obsessed with Serena he starts meeting her once a week back in Sydney but Serena is not at all what Leo believes her to be.
What happened next will surprise you but for that you've to order your copy.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me an advance copy.
Nicole Trope has masterfully written another awesome book!
I am giving it 5 stars for plot development, interesting characters, twists and a very satisfying ending.
The plot revolves around an unhappy wife, a cheating husband, and a deadly lie from long ago, now revealed.
Revenge has never been sweeter!!
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the advance copy of this book.
This is my honest review!
What can i say anything that Nicole Trope writes i will read! i love all her books and her writing.
As soon as i started reading this book i was hooked. I just couldn't put this book down. The different POV and oh the plot of this book just blows you away.
Nicole Trope will never disappoint!
Thanks NetGalley for letting me read and review.
Diane and Leo have been married for fifteen years, they have ten year old twin boys and live a nice life. Diane is a nurse and Leo works in real estate. Diane knows that Leo hasn't always been faithful, and she's hoping to divorce him once she has a plan in place. Leo cannot help himself when it comes to beautiful women and when he meets Serena, he is infatuated with her, until she turns out to be his worst nightmare. Now one of his sons is missing and the past is catching up to him.
Nicole Trope is one of my favorite authors and I'm always eager to read anything by her. I really enjoyed this story and it definitely kept me engaged. She has a way of making you really get to know the characters in her books. I absolutely hated Leo, he was the most despicable human being. I really liked Serena and felt her conflicting emotions. I personally did not care for Diane at all, and she really did not redeem herself at all in my eyes. The book had a pretty fast pace but I found myself really disappointed at the end. The ending was satisfactory but I didn’t feel fulfilled by it. It all kind of fell flat for me. There were definitely twists I didn’t except, as well as several that I predicted. This wasn't my favorite by this author but I'm always eager to read more by her!
Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for the advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!
Alright. I am on board with this one. I hate Leo, I have twins and would not be able to survive losing one of them, and this is all rather interesting.
Leo is cheating on his wife, but that isn't why he's hatable. He manipulates and bullies a grandma into selling her house for less than she was promised, he is mean to his kids, and he is mean to service workers.
He all around sucks.
Naturally I LOVED this one. This was everything. It is so twisty and wonderful.
His Double Life centres around a married couple, Leo and Diana, who have more than their fair share of secrets. When one of the secrets threatens their child’s safety, it is time to take responsibility and ensure justice is served.
I enjoyed this novel. The pacing was good, the characters (outside of Leo) were all very human - flawed, driven by emotion, but fundamentally good people who were trying to make things right. Even if what is right for them isn’t regarded as justice by the legal system or wider society. Leo was a shit and it was nice to see him get what he deserved. There were lots of good twists and turns that I didn’t guess beforehand which is always an indication of a great thriller!
I have read The Day After the Party and now this book by the author and I can’t wait to dip into her back catalogue soon!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an ARC in return for my unbiased opinion.
I received an arc copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. What would you do if you found out that your husband was leading a double life? This book centers around Leo, his wife Diana and his mistress Selena/Melanie. It is told in parts by all three of them and goes back and forth in past and present. I definitely have mixed feelings about this book. It started off really good but just went downhill for me. The twist was good but so many things just seem too far fetched .
Nicole Trope is one of my favorite authors and when I received an advanced copy of this book I was super excited. Netgalley introduced me to her and I have read every single one of her books.
This book I could not put down. The way she writes her characters is like no other. I got to know each and every one and feel for each and every one! I honestly do not know how she does it with every book.
If you haven’t read any of her books….better just buy them all at once because you will want more!
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley!!!!!
HOLY MOLY!!! This book had me hook, line, and sinker from the first chapter. This book gives an entirely new meaning to work conferences. please stop what you are doing, get this book, and call off work. Once you start reading, you will not want to stop. This is intense, exciting, and NOW one of my favorite books EVER!!!!!!!! Thanks for the ARC read!!! I can not wait to read another book by this author!!!
When a husband and father of two decides his life is not enough, he puts himself in situations that will come to haunt him. It took me a moment to figure out exactly where this story was going, but once I figured it out there were twists and turns on every page. This is definitely a thriller worth reading.
I did not see that coming! Talk about whiplash! Nicole Trope wowed me, shocked me, left my mouth hanging open and had me turning the pages! Woohoo!!! [book:His Double Life: A completely unputdownable domestic suspense novel|203740078] is gripping, full of secrets, twists, and with jaw dropping reveals! I had a hard time putting this addictive book down when life got in the way. Well done, Nicole Trope, well done.
Leo has an image to uphold. He is a real estate agent who drives a flashy car which screams success! He is married to Diana, and they have twin boys. Everything about him looks picture perfect. Except that he has secrets. He is more committed to his phone than his wife, he comes home smelling of another woman's perfume and is quick to hand out flowers and toys after going to real estate conferences.
Then Diana receives a text message......
Talk about being kept on your toes throughout the entire book! I had no idea what was going to happen next. Just when I thought I had things figured out, Trope threw a curve ball at me. I enjoyed this twist filled book which kept the revelations coming.
I enjoyed the POV chapters. This was a nice touch and allowed readers to get into the minds of the various characters. Knowing their motivations and emotions furthered my enjoyment and investment in their plight. The characters in this book deal with many emotions and I thought Trope did a fantastic job with showing the characters as complex individuals.
I also enjoyed the pacing of this book. It was just right and kept things moving along. I found the plot to be well thought out and riveting. I can’t wait to read what Nicole Trope writes next!
Well written, addictive, shocking and hard to put down!

I thought I had this book figured out but the more I started reading the twist started coming and I had no idea, Very well written. One of those books that you think you have figured out then the next second something totally drastic unexpected happens you're like oh my God I did not expect this then again you got to keep reading but she's got to know what's going to happen.. I absolutely loved this book and can't wait to read another book by this author.. Don't make mistake of not reading this book!!!! Cuz you're going to get hooked.
Nicole Trope's latest, HIS DOUBLE LIFE, is a twisty domestic thriller when a husband's web of deceit and dark secret past collides with the present—a son is kidnapped, putting his family in danger.
TRUST NO ONE!
Set in Australia, Diana and Leo Palmer have been married for fifteen years. They have twin sons. Leo is in real estate investments and has an affair when he is out of town at a conference.
Now Sawyer is missing. Diana receives a text.
"If you want Sawyer to come home, your husband needs to tell the truth."
What has Leo done to endanger their family and child? Told from POVs: Serena/Melanie, Diana, and Leo.
CONFERENCE IN QUEENSLAND:
SERENA: The author takes us back five weeks earlier at a conference when we hear from Serena Burns. She is not in commercial real estate, and neither is she Serena Burns.
LEO: (five weeks earlier). The first time he slept with someone at a conference had been four years earlier, and guilt gnawed at him. But each time he did so, he felt less guilty and looked forward to the next out-of-town conference so he could let go of his mundane existence.
Yes, he has an excellent life, a wife, ten-year-old twin boys, a nice house in the burbs, a safe neighborhood, a pool, an expensive car, and a good wine collection. What is his problem?
DIANA: Five weeks earlier. She suspects he has someone with him in his hotel room. It is time to put a stop to it. To confront him and be done. The boys are old enough, and her job is secure. She always knows when he strays, as he comes home with flowers, chocolates, and gifts for the boys.
But she has collected the dirty laundry and knows the smell of a woman's perfume. Their marriage was struggling and had been since the twins were born. She was exhausted with things getting in the way, like completing her postgraduate degree to be a child and family health nurse, and then time went on and then more gifts and guilt. She knows he is unhappy. She fears being a single mom but can no longer stay silent. He cannot get away with what he is doing anymore.
Despite making up her mind to leave her marriage, she is waiting for him to confess, for guilt to drive him into telling her the truth, and when he does not, it chips away at her. Can she pretend all is well?
What has happened with Leo? He was a real estate star, but then something changed. He started losing sales, not making money, comparing himself, hungry for something, and seeking other women.
Now Leo's office has been trashed and his car damaged. There are secret letters. Now they are holding his son hostage. Does someone want REVENGE?
Diana is angry and receives a text with a photo of her husband in a hotel. Someone wants to meet her?
Then one twin comes home, and the other is missing. A threatening text that he will be returned when the TRUTH comes out.
There is so much more to this story; no one is as they appear. Diana knows her husband is unfaithful, but she has no clue about his darkest secret that sent an innocent person to prison.
How far will each person go to uncover/protect their secrets? Will telling the truth solve everything? What do these people want?
Someone has a score to settle. However, will Sawyer be caught in the middle of this dangerous plan?
Betrayal, lies, deceit, and secrets!
HIS DOUBLE LIFE is a twisty, multi-layered domestic suspense with a twist you do not see coming, with a cast of unlikeable and unreliable narrators. A marriage turns inside out when the ugly past rises to the surface. My first book by the author, and I look forward to reading more.
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for a gifted, advanced digital review copy.

I am a big fan of Nicole’s books because they are easy reads with just the perfect amount of twists. I will say I didn’t love how this one ended as far as justice was concerned (I would have preferred more revenge), but I do still recommend adding to your TBR if you love domestic thrillers like I do! 3.5 stars rounded up!
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC of this novel.
