I thought I had this book pegged from the premise but I was actually shocked that it was so much more than I had anticipated! It's well written and fast paced. The twists and turns will have your jaw on tbe floor. It's told from multiple povs and to be honest, none of the characters are the best examples of humanity but then again, who is! I was so invested in this fron the start. The book also has flashbacks so I was dying to see hoe it'd all tie in and what the outcome would be. I just really enjoyed it and it was so much more than a lot of the other cheating husband type thrillers

I loved this book from the very beginning! If I had to put it down, I was excited to pick it back up again. But I didn’t put it down many times! I just had to keep reading! The author writes in such a way that the suspense keeps coming! Then, we have some emotional chapters that were just as gripping! You won’t guess all of the turns this plot takes, and nor would you want to. It is fun to let the twists ride out! At times, you aren’t sure who to like but then it all comes together in a satisfying, albeit unusual, ending!

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC written by one of my favorite authors Nicole Trope. I always get so excited when I see she has a new book coming out! This book did not disappoint. It was an interesting story about a man who thinks he has left the past behind and got away with a horrendous accident that ended a young man's life. He just didn't realize that revenge was coming his way and from whom. Great character development and an interesting twist. I would definitely recommend.

"His Double Life" is a book about a man, Leo, who is a father, a husband, a real estate agent and a notorious liar. The story reveals the lies Leo tells to keep his life from falling apart, but little does he know that the house of cards will come crashing down...
The book is written from multiple points of views, Leo, Diana and Melanie/Serena without it being confusing or hard to follow. To me the story itself was a little tedious and long winded but in saying that it was suspenseful and written in a crisp clean way that keeps you turning pages!

3-3.5 stars

This definitely started with a bang and then settled in for a slowish domestic suspense storyline.

More of a revenge/vigilante justice type book than a thriller, it had several twists and turns that I didn't see coming.

The characters were a bit hard to pin down as they kind of operate in that gray scale of morality, except for Leo who is solidly in the black. Leo is scum and I'm not convinced he won't remain scum, lol.

I found the characters inner monologue a bit redundant which contributed to the slowness of the story. Dialogue between characters was stunted, but that could have been because Leo is a giant man child. The epilogue was weird. It was filled with even more internal monologue which I didn't like and I didn't feel like it contributed a whole lot to the story.

This was my first book by this author and while I didn't love it, I would read her again before making a decision about whether or not I like her brand of storytelling.

Just WOW! Nicole Trope smacks another one out of the park! What a fantastic read! I’m a huge Nicole Trope fan and am amazed by her writing. She only gets better and better.
This one hooked me early on and didn’t let go until the final page. The characters were amazing and kept me flipping pages long past my bedtime. I loved the obsessions, secrets and lies. So much to love about this book.
Thank you NetGalley, Nicole Trope and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review this cracker of a book.

I liked it. Nicole Troupe’s writing style grabs the reader right from the get go. This fast paced story yields enough intrigue and twists that it was a one day read for me. I liked how it was written. I didn’t like Leo though…. just when you think he couldn’t be anymore despicable, there are more lies. His Double Life makes you hope that ‘karma’ might really be a thing.
Thank You to NetGalley, Bookouture, and Nicole Trope for the opportunity to (guiltily) enjoy reading this ARC.

This is my first Nicole Trope and this didn't disappoint. I loved the premise of this. The book is more than a story on infidelity. It's a domestic thriller with several characters, each with their own motivation. The book is told from 3 perspectives and has its root in the past that keeps you guessing. For a very long time the book teases on the why and what and all the 3 narratives are interesting and build to the story.

This is well paced and kept me guessing. Didn't see the ending coming.

Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for this e-arc in exchange of my unbiased review.

Nicole Trope can always be relied upon to deliver a thrilling and fast-paced read. Described as a loving father, loyal husband, and possibly a liar, Leo lives with his wife and twin ten-year-old boys in a peaceful family home. However, their domestic bliss is shattered by Leo's apparent infidelity and the realization that he may be hiding even darker secrets. As his double life puts their children in danger, his wife is determined not to let his lies destroy her life and will stop at nothing to bring their son back. Determined to bring her son home and protect her own life from her husband's lies, Diana embarks on a relentless pursuit for the truth.

With "His Double Life," Nicole Trope delivers yet another gripping page-turner that delves into the secrets and turmoil within a marriage. This story is told from multiple points of view and perspectives, which really allows the reader to gain insight into the thoughts and feelings of the characters. The character development was spot on. As I read each chapter, I couldn’t wait to see what eventually happened. I couldn’t put this book down. If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would.

Just when you think you may have figured it all out, Nicole Trope throws in another twist. I highly recommend all books by her and can’t wait to read even more. I highly recommend this author. Thank you the publisher and NetGalley for the advance review copy in exchange for my honest review.

Diana knows that her husband regularly cheats on her but stats in the marriage for her twin boys. When only one of the boys returns home from the park, she receives a text that her husband Leo needs to tell the truth. A gripping thriller from beginning to end!

Another great story from Nicole Trope! This book is focused around Leo, who is struggling with the mundane-ness of his life as a middle aged father whose career didn't quite take off as anticipated, meanwhile his lies are closing in on him. There is heartbreak, revenge, lies, grief - we're feeling all of it in this book!

The story is told from multiple POVs which helps add so much dimension for the readers. The thing I loved most about how this story is told was that each chapter was a countdown to the *main event*. Chapter one starts as 'five weeks ago' and from then on its a countdown to the action we are teased with in the prologue, which makes it so easy to just smash out chapter after chapter.
Just when I thought I had figured out how this story was going to end, Nicole threw in a twist and everything changed again.
Without giving anything away, there was one character that I was left feeling sad for. After learning about them and feeling attached to them throughout the story, I felt they didn't get the ending that they deserved.

I don't usually read books that are set in my own home state in Australia so that was a nice change of pace!

Thank you Nicole, Bookouture and NetGalley for the ARC.

This book my Nicole Trope was definitely different than what I had in mind when I went into it. I would describe it as more of a domestic suspense thriller.
We are quickly introduced to the married couple Diane and Leo, as well as their twin boys. They seem like the “typical” working family, but all completely crumbles when one of their twin boys comes home without the other and Diane is sent a mysterious text about her missing son and her husband. This quickly shatters everything Diane thought she knew about her husband and their past and future. Needless to say Leo is not the idyllic husband, family man, or professional he presents himself to be. In fact Leo quickly becomes an extremely unlikable dirtbag …. And it keeps getting deeper. The chapters alternate between Diane, Leo, other characters along the way, and different timeframes.
This book did have some definite twists and turns. Some of them were a bit predictable, but some were shocking! I enjoyed the pace of this book and how the story unraveled. I was not a big fan of the ending and epilogue because I found it to be unrealistic and far fetched. I would give this a read as it is different than a lot of thrillers I have read lately!

Thank you to the Author, Netgalley, and Bookouture for an ARC!

Really loved this and this for me was a definite one setting read. The only thing that could have made it better for me was listening to it, I am feeling homesick a little. Why are none of the conferences set in Adelaide? Back to the book - like the way it gave a hint at the beginning of where it was going to go and then went back in time and then it all came back together and made sense.

I have been thinking of the ending and working out whether or not I liked it. I see the pros and cons initially I didn't like it but after sleeping on it - can understand it.

I was given an advance copy by netgalley and the publishers but the review is entirely my own.

Nicole Trope never disappoints! Couldn’t put it down, read it in one day! This book makes you question if you can trust anyone in your life. The plot unfolded from each character’s perspective. Varying timelines kept you guessing in the best way.

Diana is a loving wife and mother, Leo is a too busy and distracted father, and just who is Serena really?!

Thank you to Net Galley and Bookouture for this ARC, to be published February 28, 2024!

My first novel from Nicole Trope, 'His Double Life' tells the story of Leo. We navigate his life - we see him at home with his wife Diana, and their twin sons Rowan and Sawyer and at work, where he has an illustrious if somewhat struggling career. However, it soon becomes clear that he is not the wholesome family man he appears to be when Diana receives a scary text message - "If you want your child to come home, your husband needs to tell the truth." What unfolds is a nerve-wracking race to ensure his idyllic life remains intact and a plot that keeps readers guessing.

What I enjoyed most about this is the plotline, I was engaged with it from the very beginning and was fully invested in figuring out the mystery. Lately, I've had the issue where I can easily surmise the conclusions of thrillers so I was overjoyed to find one which thoroughly kept me on my toes!

The only real negative for me here was that I found the ending to be unsatisfying and slightly unrealistic given everything that came to light throughout the book. I didn't feel like justice was served and this left me wanting.

All in all, I give this a rating of 4 out of 5 stars. If you're looking for a domestic thriller that's an easy read and that will keep you entertained, this is one you should definitely pick up!

*A great many thanks to Bookouture, Nicole Trope, and NetGalley for this ARC. It is important to note that I was not committed to providing a positive review; all opinions are undoubtedly my own.*

This is my first Nicole Trope read. The book had an interesting premise with a great start. However as the story progressed, it started getting a bit soap operaish to me.

To begin, Diana and Leo are a married couple whose marriage is in shambles. Leo is an average real estate agent who cheats on his wife. You absolutely dislike Leo right from the first page. The author does a good job of writing a common despicable character. Diana is a nurse with twins who knows that Leo is cheating on her and still continues to stay with him because of the kids.

The story is fast paced at the beginning with it back and forth between the characters. Leo's cheating catches up to him and also a long awaited reckoning of his deeds of the past. The hype and the unraveling of the plot was woven very well and I expected a better climax.

Considering the gravity of the crime, the ending felt a bit flat and not very satisfying as I turned off my kindle. It was heartening to know that certain other characters were able to move on but I felt that Diana was done a disservice.

Anyway for the initial intrigue and writing a wonderful Melanie, I give the book 3.5 stars.

I thank Net Galley for the E-Arc and I am leaving a review voluntarily.

Loving father. Loyal husband. Liar?

Nicole Trope is an auto-buy author for me due to the twists and turns and I think this one might just be my new favorite!

I was hooked from the first page all the way to the end, and was this one a nail-biter! I have to admit I was up way too late trying to figure out all of the secrets and that is the best kind of book in my opinion!

This book has character you love, character you hate, and is a page turner! This is a must read!

Book Title: His Double Life
Author: Nicole Trope
Publisher: Bookouture
Genre: Domestic Thriller
Pub Date: February 28, 2024
My Rating: 4.5 rounded up
Pages: 256

Leo is a Loving father - a Loyal husband and apparently also a Liar!
Diana and Leo have been married for fifteen years; they have ten year old twin boys - Rowan and Sawyer, They live near a park that the boys love.

Prologue starts with Rowan rushing home to announce winning a soccer match. Rowan wants to know if Dad will take him and his brother for donuts. However Sawyer isn’t home yet ~ Rowan announces ~ What is taking him so long? Rowan then starts to head back to the park to find him. Diana tells him to wait and she’ll go with him. Just as Diana is heading out the door her phone vibrates with a message.
– If you want Sawyer to come home, your husband needs to tell the truth.

Diana shows her message to Leo and he groans.
Diana says with tears in her eyes ~ “What have you done, Leo?”
Story starts with the timeline –Five weeks ago – POV Serena
Leo is a successful Real Estate Agent and meets Serena Burns who is in commercial real estate at a conference. They see each other at a bar and Leo offers to buy her a drink. She answers that they could drink at the bar or have drinks in her room. Needless to say Leo is weak and they go to her room.
Thus the story begins, continues to present day with Sawyer’s disappearance.
Story goes in a direction I didn’t expect.
This is my tenth Nicole Trope. I am a fan! She does not disappoint.

I love reading “A Letter from Nicole” (I so love reading the author’s notes and getting the inside scoop)
She tells us that Diana emerged later in her edits. I believe most of us wanted to know more about how she was dealing with all of this. We know Leo is not a nice person.
As for how it ended ~ I believe Book Clubs are going to have a Great discussion on Leo!!!

Want to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for granted me this GREAT early eGalley.
Publishing Release Date scheduled for February 28, 2024.

Nicole Trope has been an auto buy author for the longest time. Her books are always so engaging and twisty.
This book is no different., and if possible one of her best to date.
I was gripped and thoroughly engrossed within the first few pages.

Leo and Diana have been married for a decade abd have 10 year old twin boys Keo, a philandering, egotistical piece of work has a secret past which is about to be blown apart. Someone has taken one of his sons. Why?

From beginning to end I was hooked on this wild ride! I loved the concept and it was set up and executed perfectly. It was entertaining and suspenseful. Great characterization and the ending was satisfying with a good twist.

Told from multiple points of view , it was interesting to hear each perspective.
It's been a while since I've read a book in one sitting.
