I was enjoying parts of this story, certainly I was intrigued enough to go through it. But I just felt that considering how many characters were hellbent on revenge, and the lengths they were prepared to go through to get it, the 'punishment' they put Leo through in the end fell really flat.
I have read all of Nicola Trope’s books and they all have been fantastic so when I seen this I had to read it and wow this was no exception. This was a gripping read which had me gripped from start to finish. The characters were well written.
Diane and Leo Are married with ten year old twin boys. When one of the twins does not return home from the park Diane is in a panic then she receives a text saying her husband has to tell the truth. Diane finds out her perfect life may be coming to an end.
This was an excellent thriller with many twists and turns which kept me glued to my kindle. Highly recommend. Thanks to netgallery and the publisher for my advanced copy.
Nicole Trope has done it again. What a book! I really enjoyed this one and raced through it.
I loved the characters, plot and twists. It’s a well written domestic thriller that I’d strongly recommend.

Another page turner by Trope. She has domestic suspense down to an art!
Diana and Leo are in a panic when one of their ten-year-old twins disappears after going to the park with his brother.
Diana get this text- “If you want your child to come home, your husband needs to tell the truth.”
She knows her husband has many faults and secrets. Leo thinks she does not know. Diana does know he is unfaithful, but she has no idea about one of his deepest secrets which sent someone innocent to prison.
Leo thinks his latest tryst partner is behind the disappearance! So many secrets, so little time to devour them all in time to find their son. How far will Diana, Leo and others go to uncover all the secrets?

Thank you Bookouture and NetGallery for this ARC. Well Nicole Trope does it again! This book was extremely hard to put down; gotcha going within the first 3 pages! When only one of Diana’s twin boys comes back from the park and she gets a message that her husband needs to tell the truth; this story spins into high speed. Can the man Diana has been married to be keeping secrets from her? An incredible Karmas gonna catch up to you story! Highly recommend
I thought i was reading about a serial adulterer. but its about a lot more. Well written characters and overall a gripping read. Everything i would expect from this author. My only moan is that the ending didn't do it for me. My thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.
It was refreshing to read this after DNF’ing my last book. This was a faced-paced read, and I both started and finished it this evening.
Leo checked out of his marriage a while ago, and it shows in the way he ignores his wife and twin boys. As we get to know him, we soon realize that he is hiding many secrets. Someone won’t let him get away with his past actions, and, unfortunately, his innocent family may be in danger, too.
What would you do for your family? What lengths would you go to in order to right a wrong?
Look for this at the end of February!
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for a complimentary copy in exchange for my honest feedback.
Grabbed me from the first chapter …… Is my husband hiding even darker secrets than his affairs? As I realise his double life has put my children in terrible danger, I make a promise: I will not let my husband’s lies destroy my life. And I will do anything to get my son back…
LOVE, LOVE, LOOOOOOVVVEEE, LOVED IT!!!… Absolutely stunning!!!… I was completely swept away!!… Didn’t want this one to end !
Thank you to Net Galley and Bookouture for this advanced copy of His Double Life by Nicole Trope to be published February 28, 2024.
Leo and Diana purposefully purchased a house near the park so their sons, Rowan and Sawyer, could walk over easily to play.
They love to race home – so, one day, when Rowan comes home and Sawyer is not immediately behind him, Diana starts to panic. She tells Leo she will be right home as she and Rowan are going to the park to find Sawyer.
Just as she is heading out the door, she receives a text – If you want your child to come home, your husband needs to tell the truth.
Is Leo hiding a secret? She loves him but will do anything to get her son back.
After Sawyer doesn’t come home, His Double Life backtracks to five weeks ago, four weeks, etc. and ends with present day. It makes it easy to tell how the story developed into Sawyer’s disappearance.
This is an “unputdownable”, stay-up-late page turner!
I cannot say enough about this book – from beginning to end it had me hooked. You are in for a wild ride!
Another good one from Nicole Trope!

His Double Life by Nicole Trope is another twisty domestic drama that virtually propelled me through the pages.
Leo and Diana are married with ten year old twin sons. When one of the boys fails to return home one day, a mysterious text soon follows, implying that Leo is responsible for his disappearance. Leo, a perpetual cheater, has put his family in danger, and Diana is determined that his lies will not destroy the lives of his family members. What will it take to get her precious son back where he belongs?
While I would not rank this one as a favourite from this amazing author, it is certainly an engaging read that will hold your attention from beginning to end.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC.
Nicole Trope invariably delivers interesting and suspenseful books. This one focuses heavily on the darker side of domestic life and is basically a revenge thriller of sorts.
Leo and Diana have been married for a decade and a half, and Leo is bored with his wife and 10-year-old twin sons. An incorrigible philanderer, Leo also has a secret from his past which he has managed to keep hidden for some time. But his double life is about to crack wide open...
When one of the boys returns home while the other one goes missing, a mysterious text indicates that Leo's behaviour is directly responsible for the disappearance of their son. Diana is desperate to get her son home, but who has taken him? And why?
This is a slower burn than some of Trope's previous books, and it does not rely on plot twists to keep the action going. But there is an interesting twist at the end, and overall, it was - as always with Nicole Trope - an enjoyable read.
This novel is somewhat predictable with thoroughly unpleasant charters, Leo I’m looking at you! That said I did enjoy it, it’s written well; the narrative is tight and the plot is somewhat believable. I felt it just lacked something to make it stand out.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this ARC, NetGalley! This was a quick read but not without its twists and turns. I enjoyed reading it very much and found the conclusion to be very satisfying and original. I’d recommend this read to others.
His Double Life is a slow burn domestic suspense novel. While it does have a fair share of twists, a lot of the story seems redundant, drawn out and easily loses my attention. Many of the characters are unlikeable, with the husband being the worst. You just want to reach into the page and slap him. He’s the most egotistical narcissist, and it’s agonizing to read his thoughts at times.
It did have an interesting premise, which at least leaves you intrigued enough to find out what happens. I can see people who enjoy the typical “man cheating on wife” domestic thriller to love this book. For me, the redundancy of the writing/hearing the same story told over and over again or stretched out far longer than it should’ve really affected my enjoyment of this novel. On the plus side, the chapters are short and it is a fast read.
3.5 ⭐️ rounded down. Thank you to NetGalley & Bookouture for the opportunity to read this digital ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts.
This book is everything you want in a thriller! The characters’ roles in the revenge scheme come clear as the book unfolds, written in a way that keeps high interest going! Leo, Diana, and Serena/Melanie have their own chapters from their perspective. I absolutely loved this book anrd read it in one day! Superb!
My Review:
Wow!!!!! Loved!!!!! Speechless!!!!! Great!!!!!These are just a few out of many words that I would use to describe this awesome book. This author is my favorite and is on my Top Ten Author List. Now lets talk about this one for a minute. This read had me hooked from the blurb alone. I knew I had to read it when I saw there was a missing child along with a liar of a husband. Those are my favorite books to read and to have them both in the same book was like opening presents on Christmas morning. It was pure joy and happiness. Next up is characters. I felt every emotion they felt and got myself wrapped up in all of their lives. Some of it was good but some of it was bad too. Not every character in this one had good intentions. In fact, I hated one character and thought this person was despicable. This person deserved everything they had coming to them and much more. Last but not least my favorite part of every book, the ending. What a shocking one it was. I was left saying OMG. I don’t know if I would have ever been able to agree to what one of the characters agreed to do for that long of a time. It takes such a strong and motivated person to do such a thing. I just love this author so much and can’t wait for her next book.
In conclusion, the plot, the characters and all the twists in this book made this book an enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You have something a lot of people can only dream of and still you cannot control yourself and you have to mess it up.You might think you are the winner because you take everything you had for granted and you keep on taking what you want to have without any regrets. But you have to be careful with whom you pick.
You just cannot keep on thinking life is one big party and you only take and never give. You cannot keep on thinking the way you want it is the only way because one day you might meet someone who can crush you like an insect.
Think before you act. Don't be the know-it-all, but eat some humble pie and show some respect. That's when you live your life to the fullest and you will surround yourself with people who will love you for that.
One day, when the last drop that makes the cup run over has fallen, you know you have been backed into a corner.
Someone is about to find out the true meaning of remorse comes always after the sin and they will have to deal with it for a long, long time.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and I loved the twisty road the author made me take to the revelation of the plot. 5 stars
Thank you
His Double Life
by Nicole Trope
Nicole Trope yet has to disappoint me. I’ve read almost all of her backlist and it’s always exciting to see what she comes up with next. She writes absolutely fabulous page turners. She does not need fancy twists and turns, this lady can write without all the extra fluff. Brilliantly talented.
I like to be transported back to Australia and imagine the accent. Loved it.
Diane and Leo are married for fifteen off years. The marriage was perfect until it was not. Every day life crept into it. Leo is interested in everything else but his wife and twin boys. As a mediocre successful real estate agent he visits events and has the occasional one night stand. Until he meets “Serena”.
But what happens when one one the twins comes home and the other not? Only a threatening text that he will be returned when the truth comes out.
I’d call this a domestic suspense novel without a huge amount of twists. Which was perfectly fine, as the storytelling was solid as always. Twists are great when they come naturally. I rather have a solid story than a book that relies forcefully on twists. Nicole can craft a compelling story like this.
I did like the story, it was well written without any plot holes. But it was not my favourite book by her, I enjoyed her previous book more. Maybe this was a bit too on the domestic suspense for me and I enjoy psychological thrillers more, but this was good on its own.
I wish there would have been a bit more focus on Diana as I could not stand Leo to safe my life. He was the epitome of an unlikable character.
Lastly, I am afraid I really dislike the cover. It’s way too generic and not at all appealing, which is a shame. Judging by the cover, I don’t think I would have picked it up. But I believe the author has no say in that.

Leo is a serial adulterer. He is bored with his home life. Bored with his childen and wife. He loves living the high life, but it is his downfall.
He has a secret in his past which he has denied for almost a decade, and it will soon come back to haunt him.
Nicole Trope has written yet another unputdownable thriller.
Leo is selfish and unlikeable, I liked his long suffering wife, Diana, as she put family first, despite her own unhappiness. What she did at the end was well thought out, and also for the benefit of her family.
I found this emotional, twisty and tragic that one person can cause so much heartache and not feel anything.
I recommend.
4/5 stars
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read this book.
I can always count on Nicole Trope for a fast paced suspenseful read. I read this book in one afternoon. The chapters are short and the pace is quick which makes it easy to fly through the pages.
The story opens with one twin boy not making it home from the park with his brother. His mother, Diana, receives an ominous text message. It appears that her husband may not be who he says he is and is harboring a deep secret. Diana will do anything to get her son back and won't let her husband's lies destroy her life.
His Double Life is not full of tons of twists, but it's easy to follow and with no plot holes. Sometimes I enjoy the lack of huge twists, because the story is more believable. This one is suspenseful and intriguing. It makes for a fun afternoon read.
