In the third installment I was excited to finally find out the identity of Verify’s Phantom. While I adored the first two books, I had a little trouble getting going into this one. Not sure why I was just bored up until maybe the last 25%.

Which is a shame because I did enjoy Rafe and Verity as characters and their chemistry. Not sure what happened, it just didn’t excite me like the first two.

As always, Beverley A, Cricks narration always makes a book more enjoyable. I also want to point out how her narrating has only improved over time, each new audiobook she comes out with gets better and better.

✨HIS NAME IS RAFE✨

Need I say more?? I’ve enjoyed the past two books in this series so much, and thankfully book three was no exception!! I’ve been anticipating this book since I read A Duke for Diana, and it’s such a good feeling getting to the bottom of that Jack in the Green. I just love knowing that this big man was traipsing around as a little bush 😩

I think Verity and Rafe were a good couple together. Sure he was lying about just about everything…but he was endearing and God save the Queen and all that jazz. He was an earnest liar, let’s put it that way. And I’m sorry, but I’ve got no choice but to support (his name was Rafe!!!).

Beverly A. Crick is one of my favorite narrators, and she did not disappoint here! She’s the perfect narrator to deliver the humor of Jeffries!

I had a fun time with the mystery of it all, and I’ll admit I was a bit thrown by the villain! I also think I have a feeling where the next book is going to go and let me tell you I am INTRIGUED. Compelled! Sabrina Jeffries absolutely knows how to get me coming back for more.

This is the third installment of the Designing Debutantes from Jeffries. I have read the previous two and enjoyed them. I am not sure if Jeffries means for this to be a stand-alone book as well as part of a series. To me, it doesn’t hold up as a stand-alone. As a part of the series, it seems flushed out enough but as a stand-alone, it seems light on plot. There are certainly many pages devoted to the spiciness of the romance between the main characters, but there doesn’t seem to be much connecting the couple through flirting or interactions that aren’t physical. In this area, I found the romance not as compelling as the other two books in the series.

Audiobook: Narration - Beverley A. Crick
I loved this narrator’s voice. It had all the flavor of the British without being too much for my Texan accented ears to understand and appreciate. She did an excellent job of bringing this story to life. She was more than capable of performing male voices although I did struggle a tad at first with a feminine voice reading the narrative when in a masculine point of view. After a few pages my ear was attuned to it and I stopped noticing it.

I was so excited to get my hands on this book. I’ve loved everything about this sister and couldn’t wait to see how her story was going to play out. To be paired up with her phantom? Oh my! It was absolutely thrilling!

I appreciated Verity’s strength and independence. For a woman of her time she was more than capable of doing her part in the sister’s business as well as holding her own within society. It was so fun to watch her meeting with Rafe and her suspicions of him being her Jack in the Green. As they continue to meet, her suspicions continue to grow and I couldn’t wait to find out what her reaction was going to be.

While Rafe isn’t the most alpha of heroes in this series, he won my heart not only by his relationship with his uncle, but by his concern over Verity’s reaction when his truth would be revealed. And just because he wasn’t the most alpha does not mean he didn’t hold his own. His actions with Verity were hot and steamy as well as deeply, achingly protective. And oh my! At one point my heart just ached for him.

This was so much fun reading! It’s filled with everything I love about historical romance and it felt genuine to the time. With the perfect blend of humor, mystery, steamy goodness and angst, this was pure perfection for me. Add in the fact that at one time I found myself actually welling up and swallowing down tears, and this makes my first favorite of the year.

Thank you RB Media, Recorded Books and NetGallery for the advance copy audiobook.

Background: Book 3 of Dazzling Debutantes. I didn’t read the first two books in the series but the characters and story didn’t seem to miss a beat or refer too much on past storylines. You can make assumptions but it didn’t bother me too much.

This book: the beginning was slow moving but I started to enjoy it about 2 hours into the audiobook. I enjoy historical romance novels and this spy premise was a new one for me! Romance (I give it a 2 chili pepper of spice), spy investigation content, forced proximity, and marriage of convenience.

Narration: Narrated by Beverley A. Crick. She did a great job at going between accents and cadence.

Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3.5 Stars

I would give it 4.5 stars but unfortunately you can't add half a star.
I have never read any of the other books from this author but I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I was hooked from the first chapter. And I could not even tell how the book was going to pan out or who they were trying to get.
Definitely going to be reading more from this author.

I typically enjoy Sabrina Jeffries' books. This one was rather enjoyable. Not wowing but enjoyable.

Good points:
- Easy read
- Likeable characters
- Story takes place outside of the Ton

;Bad points:
- Yet another heroine with no sense of self-preservation
- Hero is unbelievable as a spy
- Ending felt rushed and thrown together

Overall, I give this 3 stars.

I can never go wrong with a Sabrina Jeffries regency romance. This one was fun and a bit more adventurous than other regency romances. It did take a second to get used to all of the characters because I haven’t read the first two books in the series.

I received an ARC from netgalley and the publisher.

What a great conclusion the the Harper sisters trilogy! While a Duke for Diana is still my favorite book in the series, Accidentally His is a very close second. The blatant flirting between the main couple, coupled with the "nuzzling of soft cheeks" was a high point of the romance.

The two previous couples in the book are actively featured in this book and it's always great to catch up with past couples months/years after their happily ever after. Overall, a great relatively stand-alone book but would highly recommend reading the first two books before you tackle this one.

This is the third book in this Regency series of three sisters. This book has mystery, intrigue, and romance. This story focuses on Verity and Rafe. I found this story very enjoyable. I loved how bright, determined and clever our heroine, Verity, was throughout the story. Verity is a smart woman and focused on uncovering Rafe’s past. She for sure was no damsel in destress. I enjoyed how her and Rafe’s love story unfolded.
Also, don’t worry we get to catch up on the other two sisters and their husbands. Their mother, father, and stepmother make an appearance as well.
I was fortunate to listen to the audiobook and I loved the narrator. The book was narrated by Beverly Crick and her voice was pleasant and engaging. If I were to judge the book on the story alone I would rate it a solid 3.5 but the narrator increases the score to 4 stars!
Thank you to Net Galley, Recorded Books, and RB media for allowing me access to listen to this book.
