A sweet but steamy romance! I haven't read the others in this series, but that wasn't an issue. Loved the opposites attract/secret romance vibes!

This series just keeps getting BETTER and BETTER!

Business Casual melted my mind and loins. Nova and Charlie are perfection together. They are the black cat and golden retriever trope with some secret, casual dating. It's hot. It's rewarding. He takes care of her while respecting her independence and autonomy. She helps him HOME. I was NOT ready for the intense found family and “love without conditions nor strings” aspect of this one. Had me tearing up at the end.

Nova is a badass tattoo artist working to open her shop, she may be Beckett's little sister, but that doesn't stop her fierce determination for self-sufficiency. Charlie (Stella's half brother who we met throughout this series) finally gets his shot at love and finding his sense of HOME. She learns the importance of accepting help and love. He’s a chronic people pleaser who learns to ask for what he wants.

Some Tropes & Themes
-He liked her first
-Casual, secret dating
-Flirting
-Friend’s sister
-Tattoos 🥵
-King of acts of service x Queen of Independence
-Black cat x golden retriever
-Hot hot hot hot 🥵
-She tattoos him
-The opposite of the miscommunication trope. The best communication ever written between two lovers.

Utterly obsessed with that last chapter and epilogue?! 😭🥲🥹🩷 A must read for folks who appreciate honest love with a small town setting filled with found family and grand romantic gestures. You won't be sorry.

About the series: Lovelight is an interconnected small town romance series that follows a group of friends through their journeys of finding love while they figure out how to run their small businesses - including Lovelight Farms, a Christmas tree farm

I will definitely have to read this authors other books! This was a great shorter fast paced read that anyone can read if they in depth romance. Will be recommending!

What a delightful addition to the series! :My only qualm is that it feels like the same tropes as the other books in the Lovelight Farms universe - we're doing something, it's casual, no wait, maybe it's not. Still loved Charlie and Nova (and revisiting with all of the other characters!)

I’ve enjoyed reading all the books in the Lovelight series, but this is definitely my favorite of the four. I’m a huge fan of the frenemies-to-lovers trope, and the relationship between Stella’s (Book 1) half-brother Charlie and Beckett’s (Book 2) youngest sister Nova is wonderful. Charlie is such a sweet cinnamon roll of a boyfriend, and his insecurities make him even more endearing. On the surface, it seems like opposites attract, but there’s just something about these two together that defies the stereotype. I really appreciate the dual POV because it gives readers the opportunity to really see into Charlie’s huge heart, very much in evidence with the relationships he builds with people like Caleb (Book 3) and Alex’s abuela, assorted townspeople, the owners of the farm and their significant others, and, most importantly, Nova’s family. He is so starved for affection, acceptance, and the embrace of a family he never had that it just really warmed my heart to see it come to fruition, providing a balance to his narcissist, hypocritical, and cruel father.

The couples from the first three books are very much present in this one, and the opening scene is of Luka and Stella’s (Book 1) wedding on the farm. It’s also where Charlie lures Nova to the dance floor where the spark between them catches fire. What starts as a one-night-stand ends up becoming a friends with benefits arrangement that they dub “business casual,” both of them knowing that New York-based Charlie, a frequent visitor to the small town of Inglewood, MD who is helping out at the farm while the newlyweds are on their honeymoon, will be returning home after a month.

It's very obvious, even before Charlie confirms it, that he has ADHD and that his father’s disdain during his childhood helped foster the low opinion he has of himself and drives his need to be the positive person who just wants to make everyone happy. However, Nova, who may also be autistic like Beckett and can be prickly, provides a figurative soft place for Charlie to land, so that he can be vulnerable and honest about his feelings. It’s not all heaviness between them, though, because Borison does a great job of balancing strong emotions with snarky banter and very sexy scenes.

Nova has her own insecurities as well. In previous books, we learned how protective and supportive Beckett is of his sister, but it’s very interesting to see how much his belief in her drives her need for perfection. The difficult but illuminating conversation the two eventually have is heart-wrenching but cathartic.

Although this can be read as a standalone, I recommend reading the other books in the series so that you have the back stories of the couples who feature so prominently in this one. Recommended.

Going back to Lovelight Farms is always a joy, but reading Charlie and Nova’s story gave me a permanent smile on my face. I just loved them.

I loved their opposites attract connection and their banter was hilarious. And boy does it get steamy at times. 🔥

And of course I adored all the crossovers of the main characters from previous books. It’s like getting a little glimpse back into a fictional world you thought was over.

4.5 ⭐️ rounded up. Nova and Charlie are my all-time favorite black cat x golden retriever couple ever!! They’re the epitome of opposites attract—you couldn’t keep them apart even if you tried. I found it refreshing to read about a people-pleasing man since this personality trait is usually portrayed in women, so I definitely have a special place in my heart for Charlie boy. This book is my favorite one in the series, I loved how fast-paced, hilarious, and spicy it was.

Business Casual completes B.K. Borison's Lovelight series with Charlie's happily ever after. Anyone who has been reading this series has been waiting for buttoned-up people pleaser Charlie to be mussed up by his person. Business Casual delivers in the form of Beckett's little sister Nova. This is a secret romance with a hook-up that turns real trope. I adore Charlie and thoroughly enjoyed this book.

📝Synopsis 📝
Charlie is in town for his sister’s wedding, and he ends up dancing with Nova the grumpy gal. He ends up sending his sister off to Italy for a honeymoon and is stuck caring for her farm for about a month. As he settles in the small town, he realizes he doesn’t miss the New York life. And all while he’s having a friends with benefits only thing with Nova.

My thoughts 💭
Oh my goodness I absolutely freaking loved this book. I was surprised it was book 4 in a series I’ve never read, but it was a great standalone book. The banter was top notch, the inner dialogue for both main characters was divine, and the fall small town setting was the cherry on top. I loved how these two stubborn opposites just crumble for each other, and I absolutely loved all the characters (except for Charlie’s dad). There were moments where I was like oh my goodness ❤️‍🔥 and moments where I was balling 😭 This book was perfection, Charlie was perfection, and I’m so sad it ended but just might be the best I’ve read up until now this year! I’ll be definitely going back and reading all the series!

It’s the end of our Lovelight era and I am not okay about it! Charlie and Nova are everything!! Two seemingly different souls who are simply made for one another. I loved Charlie’s charm and Nova’s bite! I could easily read this again, immediately even. A perfect bookend to this daydream of a series!

this was the perfect goodbye to Inglewild and I cannot wait for everyone to read it.

the little hints we’ve gotten of this couple in previous books come together in this fourth installation so beautifully. when Charlie comes to help run the farm while Stella’s on her honeymoon, he and Nova can no longer ignore their growing attraction to each other. neither wants an actual relationship so they agree to be “business casual” but of course in a town as romantic as theirs….

what can I say? these books never fail to make me tear up because man have the heartstrings been pulled. watching Charlie and Nova, with their ten mile high walls around their hearts, learn to let their guards down and let people love them was really something else. they’re both soooo mirrorball/this is me trying/the archer coded that watching them see and be seen by each other had me in my feelings. for all my people pleasers out there, you have to read this one.

I adored this book. It is hard to pick a favorite in the series when they are all perfection but I think this one is my favorite. The chemistry between Nova and Charlie leapt off the the page. I was kicking and screaming over their banter. Both characters were also really well written, the dual POV really helped to understand their hesitations to be anything more than casual. I did want to scream at them for not realizing sooner that they were perfect together but it made the tension of them figuring out their feelings even better. The spicy scenes really stood out to me in this one, there was so much communication and care that I really loved. I could truly go on forever about how wonderful this book and series are.

charlie and nova are here and I’ll never forget about them. their friends to friends with benefits to oops I don’t think this is casual anymore arc was delicious and I ate this up.

becca self described charlie as a himbo and boy was he perfect. he’s flirty, funny, and such a ray of sunshine. and the adhd rep was stunning. I love seeing myself in neurodivergent characters and charlie was no different. nova is a misunderstood “grump” to charlie’s sunshine and I loved her too. after working tirelessly to make a name for herself, she finally opens up her own tattoo shop. (and I formally request more heavily tattooed tattoo artist fmcs pls.)

their relationship arc was so perfect. friends with benefits is another one of my favs and the tension was 100% there. the sneaking around? so so so good. the phone tree? hilarious. this book was so much fun and I’m going to forever miss inglewild and all of these characters.

thank you so much to berkley romance and netgalley for an arc!

I've read 2 books in this series already, no idea why I've skipped Mixed Signals but I'll be going back and reading that ASAP!
Charlie and Nova are everything, together and apart. I loved them so much, they had the hot sexual tension, banter and vulnerable moments.
I love the found family that Charlie found in this book, honestly he's such a cinnamon roll and its not something I normally enjoy but I adored him. He deserves all the love he gets from everyone throughout this story. I enjoyed him admitting his honest truth to Nova and coming to terms with his feelings and the way he is because of his father.
Nova is my girl, I related to her in so many ways. Reading her truths made me tear up because I felt them to my core.
I have loved the previous couples in this series but Charlie and Nova are my absolute favourites.
This whole books gives off the feeling of coming home, being warm, fuzzy and familiar and just loveable.
Everyone needs to read this book!!!

"I've taught myself how to be okay with fragments of feeling, but I don't want that with you. I want more than what you've given me. I want to give you more of me too. I love you, Nova girl."

Ahh! The final book in 𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 is my favorite of the series. It was the perfect ending. I absolutely loved Nova and Charlie and their hilarious banter and bickering, and of course their flirting and chemistry. The small town shenanigans reached a whole new level - I could never get tired of these characters. They are so relatable, funny, and endearing. The way Charlie cared for Nova was perfection, and I really loved how they were both so confident yet vulnerable.

This was a lot cuter than I thought it would be. Very fun!
I enjoyed the grumpy sunshine trope. I love a strong female lead too.

Have you ever read a book and it immediately gives you butterflies? Have you ever felt the intensity of the two characters' chemistry within the first paragraph? From the moment I opened this book, I could see the fresh pine trees surrounding me, smell the delicious treats that Layla was baking, and just feel the love oozing from the pages from all the characters that now felt like family.

This book was everything I was hoping for and was the perfect ending to a series that I hold close to my heart. Charlie, with his golden retriever energy, is the epitome of the perfect book boyfriend. His goofy and loveable nature are what draw you to him and flaws and insecurities are what make you fall for him. I’m such a sucker for a strong and independent female lead and Nova was everything and more. She’s fierce yet soft and her personality was the perfect complement to Charlie.

The writing is flawless and the story is both heartwarming and endearing while also being nostalgic. There’s elements of the book that stay true to Lovelight Farms while providing a unique story that can stand alone.

I love this series and I was so excited to read this newest installment.

The Lovelight Farms books are like a cozy hug. I love the characters and the town and how each of their stories are so complex and yet so heartfelt.

Charlie and Nova's story was so tender and funny. They brought a smile to my face with every chapter. Trying to hide their relationship brought a dose of hijinks but they were so caring with each other. I loved learning more about Charlie and Nova through their story.

I loved seeing glimpses of what our other couples are up to, as well as secondary characters around town.

I know we've covered all of the seasons now, but I hope there will be more from Lovelight in the future.

Thank you to Berkley and Netgalley for the ARC of this title!

I have adored the other entries in the Lovelight Farms series and the finale does not disappoint! Charlie is Stella's half-brother who has inserted himself into the town of Inglewild, joining the phone tree, having a lunch date with Caleb's Abuela, getting invites to family dinners at the Porter household. He's disenchanted with his life in New York City and wants to give Stella and Luka the best present he can for their wedding so he takes over the farm for a month while they travel to Italy on their honeymoon. Nova is fiercely independent and getting ready to open Ink & Wild, her tattoo studio. One day she and Charlie stop dancing around their attraction and flirtation and start hooking up. It's supposed to be one time but it isn't of course. Despite the fact that they get hot and heavy by like the 35% mark, there's still a lot of plot and development for both of them to go on to self-actualize and commit to each other in the relationship. I'd also say this doesn't really have a 3rd act breakup, just a 3rd act where they're apart until they are not. :) B.K. Borison manages to write stories that are so descriptive with characters that come off the page and strike just the right balance of tender, hot, sexy and sweet. I laughed, I cried, and I fanned myself.

What a great way to end the series. I cannot wait to read what she has in store next.

Read if you like the following: one-night stand to scratch an itch but turns to more, small town vibes, a hero who will do anything to please (which is a good thing in the bedroom but something he's got to work on outside), found family, a heroine who is independent and we love her for that but also it's okay to ask for help, caretaking scenes, laughing out loud at small town meddling, ADHD deep dives and business plans.

Representation: chronic migranes, ADHD

Business Casual is a satisfying and banging conclusion to the Lovelight series.

There is always a sweet bitterness when you finish the final book in a series, especially one that you have come to love. The Lovelight series has been an enjoyable and addictive romp, and I would highly recommend it to any romance bookworm looking to sink their teeth in a small-town romance. We have met both Charlie and Nova in previous books in this series. Charlie was particularly enduring right from the moment he popped on the page. If you love your heroes to be big old cinnamon rolls, then Charlie is your man. This book starts at Stella and Luka’s wedding (the MCs from the first book in the series), with a very stressed-out Nova and a goofy yet overworked Charlie. Nova is weeks away from opening her tattoo shop, and Charlie has volunteered to help around the farm while Stella and Luka go on a much-needed honeymoon. I really enjoyed this story. Charlie and Nova have some intense chemistry, and with Charlie being a big old flirt and Nova not taking any of his flirty bs, it made for some sharp, fun, and witty banter, which was catnip for my soul. The banter between Charlie and Nova just scratched that romance itch. Fans of this series will love being able to hang out with characters from past books and get to check in and see how they are doing. It gives you the feeling that you are catching up with old friends. The town of Inglewild is just as charming and quirky as I expected it to be. BK really knows how to capture that small-town essence and weave it into an unforgettable romance.

Nova and Charlie are wonderful MCs and it was great getting to spend more time with them. Charlie has always been this soft and goofy character and always goes around like he doesn’t have a care in the world. But as a reader I sensed that there was more lurking underneath that carefree loveable attitude. Peeling back those layers and getting to know Charlie better was heartwarming and even a little heart-wrenching at times. Charlie is such a good soul that you just want good things for him. You want him to find his fated mate and get that HEA that he so deserves. His character has so much depth, and his growth near the end of the book had me standing up and cheering for him. Nova is the more prickly and more guarded with her heart. She has put a lot of pressure on herself. She is reluctant to ask for help and wants to prove to the world, especially her brother Beckett (MC from the second book), that she can open her shop. Her relationship with Beckett was sweet, and Nova’s feelings about making Beckett proud of her were completely understandable.

The romance was hot! Nova and Charlie aren’t looking for love and have no interest in being in a relationship. But they both cannot deny that there are some series sparks flying between them. So, they agreed to have a one-night stand to get each other out of their systems. As you can imagine, one time isn’t going to be enough for them, so they decide to have a friends-with-benefits relationship, which, of course, is going to turn into something more. The sex in this book is on fire. The chemistry between Nova and Charlie was off the charts when they weren’t in the bedroom, so you can imagine how spicey and intense the sex was between these two. Besides all the spicey time, there is this really fun and special connection between these two. They have some pretty quick and meaningful moments where you could just see that connection grow stronger. Their relationship has its bumps, mainly because these two dummies are unwilling to admit that there is more going on between them, creating misunderstandings that cause bumps in their relationship. I love being on their journey and watching them get that HEA that they deserve.

Fans of one-night stands, friends with benefits, cinnamon roll heroes, small-town romances, and secret relationships will love this book.

Business Causally is a swoonastic conclusion to an unforgettable series.
