“Maybe we can call it business casual?”
“Are you using corporate speak to turn me on, Nova?”
As a chronic small town romance hater, B. K. Borison crafts a small town I would actually like to live in. Lovelight Farms is full of cozy comfort, and it’s a wonderfully relaxing series overall.
Charlie and Nova are my new favorite couple of this series! Nova is prickly and tends to lash out when others try to get close, which I very much related to. And Charlie is a very persistent golden retriever and I LOVE HIM. This is a classic case of “let’s have a one night stand to get it out of our systems”. The tension and banter this situation brings?? I WAS GIDDY.
I truly appreciated how Nova’s migraines and Charlie’s ADHD were represented, it was done really well in my opinion, and I loved getting to witness them take care of each other.
Random things to know
- No third act breakup
- Charlie reads AND recommends historical romance 🥵
- The couple cameos from the other books made me cry
Spicy quote sneaky peak:
“I can’t wait to watch how you take me, Nova.”
Huge thank you to NetGalley & Berkeley for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review🫶

I love the lovelight series so I was very excited to read this early and it totally delivered! Might be my favorite one yet! I love the black cat x golden retriever or grumpy x sunshine trope and this gave that so much. Nova and Charlie were so relatable and the whole romance was so charming I could not read this fast enough! The banter was witty and the plot was perfectly paced. Will be purchasing for our library and recommending these to everyone!

How freaking good was it to be back at Lovelight!!! I have loved this series but none have been a full 5 stars until this book. This book kinda blew me away. From the characters, their depth, their story, the relationship development, the Lovelight characters appearances throughout the book, you freaking name it.
I am always a big fan of the black cat x golden retriever trope and this was exactly what I love from that trope. I absolutely ADORED both Nova and Charlie. I saw myself in each of them and related to them so strongly. Nova, closed off and hesitant to let others in (hi mini Winter Hamilton). Charlie, the people pleaser that never feels good enough, never feels like he’ll be someone’s first choice but wears a mask to hide those feelings. That is truly what made this book so special for me.
The relationship development between them was SO SWEET! Friends to lovers done RIGHT. The banter between them had me kicking my feet, and the transition from friends to lovers was so seamless and felt so genuine. Charlie’s support for Nova and not pushing her boundaries, and Nova’s support and encouragement for Charlie trying to make him understand that he IS wanted and loved had me weepy.
There’s also a taking care of when sick scene that had me literally teary that will live rent free in my head. And the tattoo scene? Bye. I don’t want to spoil anything but just know I was crying in public!
I loved their little tattoo jokes, their mutual support and encouragement, their dedication to each other, the banter, and the understanding of one another. Can we also talk about the communication in this?! Beautiful.
I could seriously keep going on and on but I will stop here and just say I love this book with every fiber of my being and I would not be surprised to see it in my top 10 of 2024 at the end of this year.

i love love!!! reading these lovelight books is like walking into a warm hug with someone who just gets you. the absolute euphoria and endorphin release i feel when reading these books are insane!
this was probably one of my most anticipated releases for the year, and i genuinely teared up when i got approved for the arc. i immediately had to dive in, of course, but i really struggled with trying to savor the story and just binging it because i was loving it too much. and boy, did i love this!
charlie and nova were the perfect couple to round out the inglewild crew. their love was so subtle, so encouraging; they were quite literally two puzzle pieces that fit together perfectly. also, their chemistry was just through the roof. i loved the banter, the stolen moments, the glimpses they caught of each other when they weren’t pretending to be someone else. they saw each other!
it was also so fun to see all of the other couples we’ve come to love within the series. this ending was just so sweet for them all, and very well deserved! i honestly wish i had reread the first three before picking up this arc, but i was just too excited. but now that just means i can reread them all when the book is officially published!
charlie and nova’s story was beyond perfect, and i couldn’t have asked for anything more <3

from start to finish business casual by @bk was an absolute masterpiece of a romance. we’ve all been waiting *patiently* for the last lovelight novel and getting to finally experience the beauty that is charlie and nova made the wait so worth it. every aspect of this small town, black cat x golden retriever trope, swoon-worthy love story was utter perfection. charlie is my ultimate book boyfriend and nova is my girl. i felt so seen through both nova and charlie’s characters. if i could pick a town to live in, it would be inglewild. i never wanted this book to end but i also couldn’t put it down. i felt all the emotions with this one. endless tears, laughs and blushing!!! charlie + nova are a new all time fav bookish couple/love story! i am giddy every time i think about them (and trust me when i say they haven’t left my mind since starting this book). @bk can do no wrong in my eyes. you can tell that every. single. detail. of this book was written with such love and admiration. you can feel becs heart poured out into the pages of this novel. the lovelight series will forever hold a permanent place in my heart and that acknowledgment at the end had me in tears 😭. i can’t wait for you all to read it!!!! pub date: july 16th 2024!!!

You know when you’re reading a book and you know you’re going to get your heart broken, but you just can’t help turn the pages and you can feel your soul investing it’s every ounce into the characters and their stories. Your emotions slipping through your fingers and out of your control, sucked in by the words on the page…that was this book. B.K Borison is truly one mastermind.

5 stars isn't enough!!
the Lovelight series is one of my favorites, each book holds a special place in my heart, and this one was no different!
Nova is a perfectly written, well-rounded, and developed character. I LOVED her. She's funny, kind, hard-working, sensitive & vulnerable, strong-willed, and protective. Not only is she protective of herself, but especially of those she loves and cares about. She was feisty, sweet, smart, and dedicated. I related so strongly to the pressure she put on herself to make those around her proud, almost feeling suffocated by the fear of disappointing them. I loved getting to see her grow throughout this book, it was so well done and so, so lovely.
Charlie, Charlie, Charlie. I honestly don't know what I could say that would express my love for this man adequately. He is so incredibly sweet, charming, funny, and well-rounded. His character is so genuine, I adored him with my entire heart. Finding out Charlie has ADHD was a game-changer for me. Not only did I love him for all his wit and charms, but I also related so strongly to his character. In ways I never expected to. The way he felt like he was always too much, like he never truly belonged anywhere. I felt so seen. I felt for him and with him. Getting to see his growth throughout the book was so beautiful and so special. I love him so much.
Nova and Charlie's relationship is full of chemistry, tension, banter, and so much love & care. A flirty friendship turned friends with benefits who, inevitably, fall in love. Their dynamic was PERFECT. I felt the love, care, and desire OOZING from this book. I loved them so much. Their relationship was so well-written & so beautiful. I loved getting to see them grow together, lean on each other, support each other. The epilogue had me in tears, they are soso special to me!!
I am so sad to say goodbye to this series. If I could have a book on every single character in Inglewood, I would. However, I think B.K. Borison closed it out perfectly. Getting to see all of them together, the beautiful friendships and relationships, and just FEELING the love between all of them was so wonderful. The ending had me in tears, it was so beautifully done. I miss them all already.
Thank you so much to Berkley and NetGalley for the arc!!

“Hiya, Nova girl. Did you miss me?” Yes. Unfortunately, I think that’s exactly what I’ve been doing. “No.” I tip tap my way across the keyboard and pretend like I’m doing something important. “Why? Have you missed me?” He strolls his way to the table and drops a folder and two cups of coffee on the edge. “Desperately…”
Nova and Charlie. She’s Little Miss Gump. And he’s party boy. Serial charmer. BIG flirt. Oh, Charles 🥰. BUSINESS CASUAL is a gosh darn delight! A shot of dopamine to my brain. The friends and family and love. Back to my favorite fictional town with all the cozy fall vibes. A major WIN for me.
Ps. Alex Alvarez + Nova’s sister. Just putting it out there… manifesting it? It COULD happen. If only in my dreams…

I can barely find the words to describe how much I love this book but I will try!
What a fantastic final installment in the Lovelight Farms series. This is my absolute favorite contemporary romance series - every single book is perfect to me in its own way and Business Casual is no different. BK Borison has such a talent for portraying sweet and small romantic moments that literally make me feel completely insane.
Charlie and Nova have captured me entire heart and I cannot fathom how connected I feel to the individually and as a couple. They just immediately fit together and had amazing banter and chemistry without there being any insta-love. I thoroughly enjoyed watching them overcome their insecurities and fall in love without even realizing since everything about their relationship development felt so natural. Charlie is literally BOY OBSESSED and I was obsessed with reading his inner thoughts. The things he would do for Nova!!!!!Also, the tension and spice had me absolutely SCREAMING. They are so precious and are definitely one of my new favorite romance couples.
I already miss this book and this series and I will be rereading many times. I’m so emotional that this series is over!! If you love the Lovelight Farms series and small town/found family vibes you will absolutely adore this book.

Is this a joke?? This was SO CUTE omg I loved every single second of it. Nova & Charlie were perfect together, I adored their banter & their text messages & their chemistry. They were so sweet together & I love how Charlie was basically a big teddy bear who’d do anything for Nova. I loved being back at Lovelight Farms!

I don't even know how to explain how much I loved this book. From the begging I was hooked a so immerse in the banter between Nova and Charlie. The chemistry between them and the sexual tension had me sweating, blushing and giggling uncontrollably (LITERALLY)!!! 🥵
I was able to relate to both of them, which is pretty uncommon to be honest. They were vulnerable and insecure and I loved to see that. It felt real, angsty and it was undoubtedly the best book in this series. I loved every second of it: the relationship, the sex scenes, the tension, the cameos from characters from previous books, the ending to this sweet series. I usually don't tend to gravitate towards the "friends to lovers" trope but this was so well done. My favorite from the lovelight farm series. Such a delight.

This book was exactly what you would hope for from a y B.K. Borison novel. The setting is delightful, the characters charming, and the story has so much heart. Nova and Charlie romance was amazing and the steamy scenes were very steamy. Overall this was a terrific conclusion to the series.

i am so glad i received this ARC!! b..k is one of my favorite romance author and this book is everything
i love the small town vibes where everyone knows everyone. each of the other couples from lovelight 1-3 find their place in this story as well which i really liked. to be honest i fell for both charlie and nova (bi panic lol). charlie is there for nova whenever she needs and supports her in her dreams to open her tattoo studio. the way his inner monologue talks about her like she’s his center of gravity is so beautiful. “nova baby” 🤍

this book was EVERYTHING I'd hoped for and more. I'm also pretty sure this is my new favorite book ever. the tension, the banter, the vulnerability - everything was perfect. lovelight farms has become one of my comfort series, and I'm so sad to see it coming to an end, however, I love Charlie and Nova SO MUCH and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect ending. I can't wait to see what becs has in store for us next
thank you so much to netgalley and berkley publishing group for the arc. it was a dream come true!!!

A million shining stars to you, Becs! The way I threw my TBR out the window when I was approved for Business Casual is only paralleled by the speed at which I devoured this book. Charlie and Nova were a whirlwind, perfect for people who want a bit of steam and spice in their romances (and this time like a LOT of spice). I identified so much with Charlie and his people-pleasing ways, it hurt so good. And Nova is perfect black cat grumpy energy, hiding her ooey gooey peanut butter pretzel heart (because we KNOW that it's genetic for the Porters y'all). We still get to see the characters we know and love from previous books, as well as see more of a few newer ones (I'm looking at you, Alex and Nessa!). And the PHONE TREE!! The little breadcrumbs are adding up and I am just wowed. Do I need a tattoo? Maybe???
I swooned, I squealed, and I damn near sobbed throughout this book. I just want to live in Inglewild forever, thank you. (Now excuse me while I reread all of these books again and again)
*Thank you to Berkley and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for my honest review*

One of my most anticipated reads this year - finally! I thought I could be content with just the trio of Lovelight Farms stories but goodness I didn’t know how much I needed Nova and Charlie. Spicy, sweet and funny. I loved this one.

I sobbed. Not just like a lot of tears, like 100%, full-fledged weeping. Many times... but I also laughed and giggled a lot. This book is beautiful. I don’t know how else to describe it but has totally rearranged my definition of small town romances.

Friends to lovers, let's bang it out of our systems, dual POV perfection and the most incredible bittersweet end to my absolute FAVORITE smalltown romance series ever!! I have been a HUGE BK Borison fan from the very start before she blew up and got the much needed recognition she more than deserves!!
This book featuring NYC finance whiz and people pleaser Charlie and small town homebody tattoo artist, Nova was everything I wanted it to be and more! The ADHD rep (him) and the chronic migraine rep (her) was excellent, as was all the fun small town charm with all of my fav recurring side characters!
HIGHLY recommended, especially if you are in the mood for lots of heart, swoons and small town charm. I cannot scream enough about how much I love and will miss these characters! Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review!
