Every book I read of B.K.’s is my new favorite, and Business Casual was no different. It was the PERFECT final installment to the Lovelight series, and while I will always hope we get to see them again in some kind of way, I thought this ending was handled so beautifully. This series has my whole heart.

Lovelight Farms has become one of my absolute favorite fictional worlds and I have truly enjoyed each and every character and each and every moment in this cozy small town with such a close knit and quirky cast of characters. I could probably read 10 more books set in this world.

Huge thank you to Berkely and Netgalley for my ARC of Business Casual, this series definitely deserves a Netflix series. The characters steal your heart from the very first page.

Idelwild is a small town I am adding to my all time fave list. There is a phone chain that left Charlie off because they wanted to gossip about the couple and I am all there for it! At the end when he asked to be added back in, Nova told him." we are old news you are back". It was just adorable.
It is also a town with a huge extended family: Stella is Charlie's sister. Beckett is his best friend and Nova's brother. Nova is also the youngest and protected which I just love. I always wanted a family like this . It is a town that made Charlie reevaluate his life. What good is money if you are always working and dont enjoy it with the people you love?
Though the characters wanted to keep it "business casual" framed as he was working along with Nova on the Fall fesitval committee. But it grew to a true friendship to he falls first and doesn't want to admit it to himself. When Nova does a tattoo for him ( we all know it was just an excuse to spend time with her .) Charlie is touched by the meaning .
"His eyes drag up to meet mine, red rimmed but bright. Forget-me-not blue.
“I’ve never been anyone’s favorite,” he whispers.
“Well,” I say, feeling defensive. “You’re mine."
This scene had me all in my Taylor Swift loving heart feels.
If that didn't do it .. this scene did: it undid me and ranked Charlie up there with all my fave golden retrievers forever:
"Could I take your name?" he finally asks. His Adam's apple bobs in his throat with a heavy swallow. "When we get married, I mean. Could I—could I be a Porter?"
I have to take a second to breathe through the pinch in my chest.
"Is that something you want?"
He nods.
I am crying. Charlie who never knew love before Nova. Charlie who felt loved and included in her family wanted to officially be a Porter. I feel this to my bones. My ex husband , had a huge family and truth be told it was one of the reasons I fell in love with him.. his sisters. I never had a sister and just wanted them to be mine. So I feel this .
Nova our boho beautiful girl who shines in her art. Who only wants her brother to be proud of her.
I felt this hard too. It was such a tender scene between her and Beckett, who she desperately wanted everything about her shop to be perfect for him, and was so afraid it wasnt enough.
I am tearing up just thinking about that scene. I hope these characters continue to make it into BK's new books , she has a reader for life from me.
I really wish Good reads would add half and quarter stars .. this gets a 4.5 from me.

Oh omg the golden retriever that Charlie is and how Nova is the girl afraid of love and feeling like being alone is what is required to be independent…
I loved how firsts with tattoos played a big part from Nova’s relationship with her brother to Charlie and how they are so meaningful!
The phrase “Tattooed Golden Retriever” from TTPD I am convinced is what was going through BK’s mind on repeat when she wrote Charlie!
I am so sad that the trips to Lovelight Farms are over, but so happy to have read this series as I absolutely loved these stories and characters and loved how they continued to build and be visible in each of the installations. And how there was one story for each season! Such a cool idea!!!
Thank you so much to Berkley for my ARC in exchange for my honest review!

"Business Casual" by B.K. Borrison is a stunning finale to an unforgettable series. From start to finish, this book captures the essence of what makes Borrison's writing truly special.
One of the most captivating aspects of this installment is the portrayal of the "found family" theme. Borrison excels in crafting characters who feel so real that by the end of the series, they are as beloved as our own friends and family. The relationships between the characters in the entire series are portrayed with such depth and authenticity that it’s impossible not to feel invested in their journeys. The way they come together, support each other, and grow as a unit is both heartwarming and inspiring.
Charlie and Nova, despite being seemingly polar opposites, were the perfect fit for each other. Charlie’s nature and Nova’s spirit create a dynamic that is both charming and incredibly authentic. Their chemistry leaps off the page, and watching their relationship evolve was nothing short of magical.
The contrast between their personalities not only brings out the best in each other but also underscores the book’s deeper message about finding your place with those who truly understand and appreciate you. This book not only wraps up the series beautifully but also leaves a lasting impression. The tears began with a trickle and quickly turned into a waterfall while reading the conclusion. A must read and my new favorite in The Lovelight Farms series!

I was not ready to complete the Lovelight Series, but once I fell for Charlie and Nova, I realized that the ending was absolutely perfect and there could be no better way to say goodbye.
I was able to resonate so well with Nova and her need to please those close to her, AND I was SO excited for there to be some migraine representation as its not a common issue to be covered in literature. Nova is the kind of girly I would absolutely want to be my friend, but I would see her and think she was too cool to be my friend but we would end up in the women's room together and I would compliment her tattoos and THEN we would be besties. She is exactly the kind of FMC that just makes you proud to be a girls girl, and excited to read her story because you just want her to get everything she has always wanted because she truly deserves the world!!!
Falling for a goofy stud muffin like Charlie, was inevitable. I am SO proud of him and all the work he did for himself to get over the issues with his dad and truly start living for him and what makes him happy. He had to accept who he was, and start to see himself as incredible as everyone else already did.
The way these two were exact opposites but meshed so perfectly was such a delight to experience and the gang rounding up throughout the novel was incredible. Spending one last book with my favorites from Lovelight was the best way to say goodbye.
I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this incredible book, it was perfect and there has only been a handful of stories as amazing as theirs to hit me so hard in the heart and make me swoon, giggle and kick my feet while cheering them on throughout the entire story!
5/5

I was both excited and nervous to read this book. Excited because I got to go back to Inglewild and Lovelight Farms, to be in this small town I adore so much surrounded by folks who have earned their spot in my heart and to watch two characters fall in love yet again. Nervous because it's effectively the official last book in the series and I didn't know how it would make me feel.
I didn't need to worry at all because the minute I started reading, I was immediately transported into this cozy & wonderful story. I was incredibly happy to be reading this book, especially as I got to know Nova and Charlie better and fell deeper in love with them (as individuals and as a pair). I had the most visceral emotional experience with this story: I laughed out loud; got that warm pressure in my chest during softer moments; swooned hard at the sweeter romantic bits; felt that ache in my chest during heavier emotional moments; sobbed my eyes out at certain points (Chapter 29, I'm looking at you) for many reasons. It was such an excellent read, a really lovely way to end this story, and I absolutely adored it.
(But because this town and its inhabitants have won my heart, suffice to say, it's never goodbye, but only a see you soon for everyone because I definitely will reread this one and all the others.)

5 ⭐
“Maybe we can call it business casual,” I say slowly.
His hands tighten on my hips. “What does that mean?” he laughs.
“Business casual,” I say again, the idea growing on me. Yes, that’s exactly what I want. Something casual but with parameters in place so neither of us can hurt the other.
What an absolute gem! Charlie and Nova’s romance is sizzling with great banter, deep emotions, and that irresistible small-town charm. The found family theme is heartwarming, and the narrators bring the story to life perfectly. This book is packed with everything I love about B.K. Borison’s writing—fun, angsty, and deeply touching. I can't wait for everyone to experience this amazing story and fall in love with Charlie and Nova just like I did!

Absolutely love everything about this. Now to go back and finish the rest of the series! Such a sweet romance, highly highly recommend!!

This was very cute! A perfect ending to the Lovelight series, in my opinion. Also we finally got a book in this series without a third act breakup! (I was really hoping for that in the last one and I was so sure it was going to happen, but this time it actually did despite the breakup totally making sense in this book). Overall I really enjoyed this book. Exactly what I expected of Nova and Charlie's story, and it was really sweet and perfectly Lovelight. If you liked the rest of this series, you'll definitely like this one

This has been one of my favorite series lately and Business Casual is just as wonderful as the rest. Nova and Charlie have such wonderful energy, the story flows and is never boring. I also really appreciate no third act breakup, at least not in the traditional sense. I love BK Borrison's writing and I can't wait to see what else they write.

BK can do NO WRONG! This book was absolutely amazing. The tension from the very first time they interacted!!! I was screaming. I love the black cat X golden retriever duo. This was a fun ride and I will automatically buy anything she writes. Highly recommend!

Thank you to a NetGalley for an advanced copy of Business Casual.
I have enjoyed all the books in the Lovelight series and feel like each one has gotten increasingly better so imagine my devastation to learn this is the LAST one?!? 😭
Business Casual maybe my fav (although I think I said that about Mixed Signals also?!)
Here’s why:
-Opposites attract
-Charlie in a suit 😍
-Outsider finds family in small, quirky town
-“Tell me what you want.”
-Charlie falling out of a window
-“Secrets” in a small town 😂
-Charlie, Charlie, Charlie 🔥
-Lack of “miscommunication” trope
-Plenty of 🌶️
Loved it, savored it, didn’t want it to end.

First, a big thank you to NetGalley and Orbit for the ARC of B.K. Borison’s novel “Business Casual" – “Two opposites decide to test their chemistry with one steamy night together. But will once be enough? Nova Porter isn’t looking for love, and she certainly has no explanation for her attraction to buttoned-up, three-piece-suit-wearing investment banker Charlie Milford. Maybe it’s his charm? Or maybe it’s his determination to help her fledgling business however he can. Either way, she’s distracted every time he’s around. With her new tattoo studio set to open in her hometown of Inglewild, she doesn’t have time for frivolous flirtations.”
I was totally in love with our main characters Charlie and Nova right from the first chapter! The banter was hilarious and felt like real chemistry. I really felt like these characters were alive and not just words on a page. I could really relate to the little moments that gave these characters a personal touch.
Each had their own struggles, and their journey together was one that made me reach for more of this author's books. I enjoyed that Charlie and Nova had a bond that was built on friendship and trust and not just instant love that we can sometimes see in romance books. This made it that much better for me. I am definitely looking forward to reading more of this author's work and I am glad that I started here!
I received an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I don’t know what miss BK put in this one, but I’d like big pharma to figure out how to bottle it and keep it in stock at my local CVS. I was so charmed by these two and I have already reread it! This was the perfect way to say goodbye to the lovelight books.

Two opposites decide to test their chemistry with one steamy night together. But will once be enough?

What a delightful conclusion to one of my all-time favorite series! Though I wasn’t as familiar with Charlie and Nova before this book, their story quickly became one of my favorites in the series. The charming town of Inglewild once again provided the perfect backdrop, and the return of the phone tree added some hilarious moments. Charlie and Nova’s "grumpy meets sunshine" romance was absolutely adorable, and I couldn’t get enough of Charlie—he was the sweetest! The third act was especially heartwarming, with all the main couples coming together to convince Charlie to stay, even involving the entire town. This series has been filled with good vibes, and I’m so sad to see it end. Highly recommend!

What a delightful conclusion to one of my absolute favorite series!
I wouldn't say I was apprehensive about this one, but given that I was least familiar with Charlie and Nova prior to this story, I was interested to see where this would fall in my ranking of the series as a whole. Thankfully, I was hooked on Charlie and Nova's story from page one, and this one would up being one of, if not my favorite books in the series.
As usual, the supporting cast of the town of Inglewild provided the perfect backdrop to an already swoon-worthy romance. And thankfully we had the return of the phone tree (much to Charlie's relief) in the best and most hilarious way.
Charlie and Nova's romance was downright adorable. I am such a sucker for a "she's grumpy, he's sunshine" type of story, and this one hit all the right notes. I also found myself so deeply obsessed with Charlie. He was the absolute sweetest, and I need a man like him in my life. Not to mention I completely adored the way the third act played out.
Speaking of the third act, I am OBSESSED with the way all the main couples were together at the end of the story. The way they came together as a group to convince Charlie to stay in Inglewild (and the way the ENTIRE TOWN contributed as well) genuinely had me shedding a tear.
Overall, I cannot recommend this series enough. It is filled with all the good vibes, and I am so sad that it's over.

Similar in vibe to the first book in the series (the only other one I've read); great for readers who want cozy holiday romcoms with different reads for each trope. Will definitely recommend at the end of the year.

This story sneaks up on you stealthily like a Long Island iced tea. One minute your enjoying yourself and bam your besotted! I couldn't put BUSINESS CASUAL down, I absolutely adore the stars of the story, Nova and Charlie. Nova Porter is a chic, crabby, tattoo artist who isn't looking for love. When she meets happy-go-lucky Charlie, who wears dashing suits and works at an investment business, they become friends. Charlie flirts unabashedly with Nova, but both aren't interested in long term relationships. However, hormones get the best of them and they hook up. Actually, their hookup turns into several more. Unpredictably, they are now friends-with-benefits. Who would have thought?
Nova is looking to open a new studio for her business. Charlie helps out anyway he can. Who doesn't love a guy who is so into you and takes an interest in your career? Can Charlie persuade Nova to take a chance on him? Or will they crash and burn?
BUSINESS CASUAL elicits electric chemistry between the hero, Charlie and his crush, beautiful business owner, Nova, who are two unlikely allies steadfastly swearing off sex. However, this winning couple charmed the pants off me! Charlie is a people-pleaser and Nova is a perfectionist. She's yin to his yang. Their bond is built on trust and friendship. Charlie and Nova both have their problems but they find that healing together is always better and their relationship flourishes. In book four, the darling small town of Inglewild is visited again. This is a fabulous romance filled with a healthy dose of heart and humor.
