Nova wants to be independent and prioritize her dreams. Charlie just wants to belong after a childhood with a father who made him feel less than and unworthy. Every character we’ve grown to know makes an appearance and it was the best way to close out the series 🥹. Charlie and Nova have chemistry and top notch banter, but also such tenderly loving moments. This was everything we love about Inglewild. My heart was melting by the first page and the closure is bittersweet.
Business Casual is the final installment of the Lovelight Farns series. Nova Porter, a tattoo artist, is unexpectedly attracted to Charlie Milford, a business-minded investment banker. They agree to a one-night stand to get over their chemistry, but it only brings them closer, with Charlie determined to prove he's worth her time.
I really loved Lovelight Farms and Mixed Signals, but I wasn’t a fan of In the Weeds so I wasn’t sure how I would feel about Business Casual. Overall, I was disappointed. While I love Charlie and Nova as individuals, I didn’t see the chemistry between them. I wish there had been more focus on how they became friends and how they developed their relationship. Most of the book is all smut, which I wasn’t expecting, and it didn’t seem to move their relationship forward. I found myself more interested in the subplots and enjoyed reading about the side characters more. Overall, I liked the series, even though the final book wasn’t my favorite.

An opposites attract, flirtatious yet emotional romance, with an immersive setting, charming family dynamics and small town antics. Enter Charlie and ‘Nova Girl’. Two characters I absolutely adored reading. Our sunshine good-natured hero in finance, and our driven sarcastic tattoo artist heroine.
Flirting is the language of love in this romance. The flirty texts, the sarcastic humor, the communication, and the vulnerability felt on the page. Many of my favorite intimate moments took place within Nova’s tattoo studio; moments that continue to live rent free in my mind.
If you’re looking for a cozy reading experience, spice, flirtation and vulnerability, with a dose of meddling tight knit family antics, look no further than Business Casual. The ultimate comfort romantic read. Absolutely recommend.
Thank you Berkley and NetGalley for my gifted ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I love, love, loved this book. Charlie was one of the characters that stood out to me in Lovelight Farms, and I'm so excited we finally got more of his story. Pretty much the only thing that I didn't enjoy about this one was all the "Nova girl", but I do know that's something a lot of people will be very into. I have not read the two middle books in the series yet, so I've missed some time in the overall Lovelight Farms universe, but nothing stood out to me as anything I was missing background information on. This worked really well as both a standalone and as a conclusion to this series. For me, it was the perfect blend of what I want out of a cozy read, and I appreciated that the main 'conflict' didn't rely on the characters being unnaturally oblivious, and instead tied into very genuine insecurities and anxieties that they both had. I liked the pacing as well, it didn't feel like it was dragging anything out just to keep the story going. Definitely a book (and series) I will be recommending to people who want a solid comfort read.
Thanks netgalley and Berkeley for the chance to read this book for free in return for my honest opinion.
I’ve read all four books and I thought I would love this one the most but I think mixed signals has been my favorite so far.
Nova and Charlie are super cute though, especially Charlie. He’s a total golden retriever.
This book pretty much follows up on everyone from the first few books and how they ended up with each other. I do recommend reading this whole series.
“Being here makes me feel like . . . like the edges of myself that are too sharp everywhere else can be sanded down into something tolerable. Like I don’t have to put on a show. All the things that hold me in place in New York don’t feel as tight around my neck when I’m here.” Ahhh to belong.
Lovelight Farms has my heart and is like the most ideal and magical place on earth. There you can have a warm chocolate chip cookie, cut a Christmas Tree, and meet the man of your dreams who will sweep you off of your feet and give you mind blowing sex! You can get a sweet tattoo, too, if that’s your thing.
Read this series if you love boy-chases-girl, small town romances, hot steamy sex, delicious baked goods, family, and love. Five stars is a great way to conclude the Lovelight series.
“‘Who knew you had it in you?’ ‘I’m about to have something in me.’” 🥵
Thank you to Netgalley, Berkley Publishing, and the author for the complimentary copy.
This is the last book in the Lovelight series but the first of B.K. Borison’s novels I’ve read. That could’ve been disastrous but I was hooked by Nova and Charlie and loved this author’s style of writing. This opposites attract novel was surprisingly great and right up my alley.
Nova was such an interesting character. A grumpy tattoo’d empress of ink, her outside was such a dichotomy to her gooey center. She was driven, but her family was her heart, especially her brother Beckett. Charlie, too, was a contradiction in a suit. He looked like a straight laced gentleman but inside he was kind of an insecure wreck. An overbearing father, a time consuming job in New York, and his attraction to Nova were all competing for his time. Their story was filled with heat, definitely, but even more important they understood each other and were there for each other 100%. I loved how they supported each other with not only words, but actions. Their journey started off with a question mark but ended with an exclamation point.
After reading this novel I wanted to go back and read this series from the beginning. I’m not a B.K. Borison convert and looking forward to exploring all of her other books.
A great and cozy conclusion to the Lovelight series! This book feels like a warm hug and spending time reminiscing with an old friend. The romance was lovely, but I especially enjoyed seeing more of the town and characters from past books
I’ll devour any book touting fall vibes. Throw in a harvest festival? Count me in! Is there room for one more on that phone tree?
Obsessed with Nova and Charlie.
Business Casual is sadly the last book in the Lovelight Farms series and I’ve just loved this entire series so so much! This is a grumpy x sunshine, opposites attract, friends with benefits to lovers romance and it was everything I could ever want and more!
Nova has always been independent and happy on her own. She’s been focused solely on trying to open her tattoo shop, Ink & Wild, in Inglewood. The story opens with her at Luka and Stella’s wedding (the couple from Lovelight Farms). Nova’s sister has been telling her to let loose and have fun, which comes at the perfect time when Charlie invites her out on the dance floor at the wedding! Charlie is Stella’s investment banker brother from New York who has tried flirting with Nova a few times in the past. She hasn’t been interested before but throws him for a loop when she starts flirting back and invites him back to her house for the night! She also finds out he’ll be in town for a while taking care of the farm while Stella and Luka are away on their honeymoon….
Charlie and Nova were so perfect together! She’s got the harder exterior while he’s the sweetest and breaks down her walls. This whole series has been so comforting and perfect and I couldn’t get enough of these 2 together! Seriously so perfect for each other. So many moments I loved: “Nova girl”, the caretaking when she gets migraines, Charlie being the sweetest hero, Nova’s relationship with her brother, the small town vibes, the friend group, the meaning with the tattoos, him wanting to be on the town’s phone tree, the epilogue!!!, him wanting to be a part of anything and finally getting to. 🥹 This book was so cute and sweet and honestly no faults, butttt books 2 and 3 are still my top tier in the series that I connected with the couples more. All in all, a perfectly delightful series!
I received an ARC from the publisher, all thoughts in this review are my own.
It's been a while since I've come across a new to me author that I instantly want to read their entire backlist but B.K. Borison has definitely done that for me. I grabbed Business Casual on NetGalley (thank you NetGalley!) on a whim and I'm so glad I did. It was evident within the first pages that Borison loved the characters and the town she placed them in. Nova was so adorably snarky and snappy and Charlie was so adorably adorable.
Their entire book was just so fun. All romance readers know resistance is futile and yet it's so delightful to read a well written romance where both the characters try their damnedest to resist each other, resist what they truly want. Both Nova and Charlie thought they were doing the 'right thing' by keeping things casual, while secretly wanting things to be way more serious than they were. Their journey to get from nothing to everything was playful and sweet and cute and sexy and just so much fun to read. I had a smile on my face the entire time I was reading and by the time I got to the end, even though I knew a lot about the other couples, I still knew I would be picking up the first books in the series.
Love this couple, this town, the residents of this town, and everything about it. 5 fun stars!

Business Casual by B.K. Borison is a fun and steamy read about two opposites who can’t resist their chemistry. Nova Porter, a tattoo artist opening her new studio, isn’t looking for love but finds herself distracted by Charlie Milford, a buttoned-up investment banker. To get him out of her system, she proposes a one-night stand. But that night turns out to be so explosive that one time isn’t enough. And by explosive I mean, sizzling hot.
Nova and Charlie seem like an unlikely pair, but their dynamic is adorable. They balance each other perfectly, with Nova’s free spirit and Charlie’s straight-laced charm. And did I mention the chemistry? Off the charts. Their secret sex-capades added humor and excitement to the story. So adorable too!
One of the best parts of the book is the strong sense of community. The support from Nova’s family, Charlie himself and the townspeople (the community chat!) is heartwarming and endearing.
While it might not be a standout in terms of memorable books, Business Casual by B.K. Borison is a fast, entertaining, and steamy read that will leave you smiling.
Business Casual by B.K. Borison, book four in the Lovelight series, is a wonderful finale to the Lovelight series; with its tropes of grumpy x sunshine, opposites attract, friends with benefits to lovers alongside cute, spicy, hilarious and vulnerable moments, it was so easy to both read and love this. Nova Porter and Charlie Milford captured my heart with the way they fit together, had amazing banter and sizzling chemistry. I thoroughly enjoyed watching them overcome their insecurities and fall in love without even realizing since everything about their relationship development felt so natural. It was also so fun to see all of the other couples we’ve come to love within the series. The ending was just so sweet for them all, and very well deserved. This story is a great combination of all things cozy and spicy
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Charlie and Nova were the perfect compliments to each other. I loved their dynamic and felt like this was a fresh take on a romance! The ending was not typical and I really loved that. It made so much sense for their characters. Sometimes I’m scared with the last book in a series that it will feel rushed or not well thought out, but this was the opposite. The perfect closure for Inglewild!!
She also kicked up the heat in this one!

Business Casual by B.K. Borison

I’m so sad to say goodbye to Inglewild and all the characters that I’ve come to love, but this was the perfect ending to the series. If you’re looking for black cat x golden retriever energy, this book has it in spades. Charlie is a buttoned up business man who loved spreadsheets, has ADHD, is the sweetest brother, and feels like he can only ever be the fun-loving, boisterous good-time guy. He so badly wants to be loved and accepted and doesn’t think that anyone ever will. He has my whole heart. Nova is a snarky tattoo shop owner who is a little mean and standoffish, but is secretly soft and romantic and is terrified of not living up to people’s expectations. I adored them and their story. I was lucky enough to receive an ALC of the audiobook from Dreamscape Media, and it was fantastic! The dual narration was amazing, and the voice actor and actress matched Charlie and Nova perfectly. Please go read this series right now!!

Business Casual was excellent. Nova and Charlie’s story was a perfect ending to our time in Inglewild. I loved them both as individual characters and they were so cute (and hot) as a couple. The ending of the book was so perfect for them and it worked great as a wrap up for the whole series as well. Absolutely would recommend to romance readers, especially small town romance fans!

Nova Porter and Charlie Milford don’t have time for a relationship, but a one-night stand with someone you’ve been flirting with for months isn’t something either can resist! However, Nova doesn’t realize Charlie is staying for the month to help farm-sit while Stella and Luca are on their honeymoon. It’s impossible to restrict their attraction to one-night only.
I adored both Charlie and Nova! He was sweet, silly, and so caring! Nova was also caring, striving to get her business off the ground, not only for herself, but to prove to Beckett (her older brother) his sacrifices weren’t in vain. I loved their flirty banter, texts and sexy encounters!
Business Casual was like a Hallmark Movie with spice! Lots of well-done spice! So thankful there was no third act breakup!
B.K. Borison’s writing is beautiful, vividly bringing every gorgeous detail to life: the setting of Idlewild and Lovelight Farms, trees, flowers, the bakeshop; I wanted to visit and soak up all the beauty! It sounds so picturesque!
I alternately listened to and read an e-copy of Business Casual and recommend either version. Pippa Jayne has a lush, dreamy voice, and Benjamin D. Walker's voice brought out Charlie's personality perfectly. I enjoyed how they alternately performed the back-and-forth text messages, too!
What was only suppose to be a one night stand turns into something more as two polar opposites find themselves constantly going back to one another in this charming romance. Nova Porter is a free spirited tattoo artist who isn't looking for love yet she can't explain her attraction Charlie Porter,, the three piece suit wearing charmer of an investment banker. In an effort to try and get Charlie out of her system, Nova proposes they have a one night stand... but little does she know that Charlie is in it for the long game and he wants to convince Nova to invest in their relationship and to prove to her that they are meant to be together. This was such a charming and sweet read, it's got cozy small town romance vibes but also the spice too which is fantastic. It is a part of the Lovelight farm series however you can read it as a standalone and not get lost at all. Charlie was such a sweet love interest for Nova and I loved their relationship progressing. It's definitely a cute read and I would absolutely recommend this series!

I want to inject this book into my veins. Everything about it was so incredibly lovely. This is the perfect conclusion to the Lovelight Farms series.
Charlie and Nova are like magnets. They move so effortlessly together and their connection only gets stronger the longer they’re near each other.
Charlie, for me, was a very relatable character. I identify so much with how his brain works and the way he’s perceived by others.
I like how he brought light into Nova’s life in the midst of her business opening, and all the stress that caused her. He made her laugh and shine in a way that she hadn’t in a while and was her biggest supporter.
Nova girl, how I love you. Your sarcasm and wit as well as your understanding and patience has officially made you one of my comfort characters.
She is the FMC of my dreams. A tattooed goddess who just needs a little reassurance and love. I want to wrap her up in a blanket and give her forehead kisses.
Watching her blossom in this book brought me so much joy. She deserves every success and happy moment. I’m so glad her and Charlie found a safe space in each other.
I have absolutely no notes for this book. It was perfect to its very core. All the cameos from previous characters, the banger, the laughter — it was all flawless. I’m sad to be leaving Lovelight Farms but I am so happy I have these stories in my heart forever.
If you haven’t already, read this series. You will fall in love over and over and wish you could reverse time to experience it all over again.
5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Short synopsis: After sending his sister on a dream honeymoon, Charlie takes over her tree farm for the fall festival. Running into his best friends sister Nova, they decide to have a one stand to get it out of their system.
My thoughts: We are back in Inglewild, with the meddling phone tree which has grown new branches. I’ve really loved this series, and how each character from the previous books make a cameo.
I absolutely love Artsy Nova and how passionate she is and I loved the chemistry between her and broken Charlie. This was sizzling from the get-go, so expect quite a bit of spice.
I’m sad to see this series come to and end, but I’m excited to see what the author comes out with next!
