This is a fantastic journal, even for someone who isn’t at all outdoorsy, like me (though I am definitely the journaling type). I loved the illustrations and design, and the introductory information for the whole book, each geographic region, and then each park are really helpful and insightful—as are the tips and resources. I’ve only visited three of the parks, but there are several more that I want to see. I’ll have to pick up a hard copy of this journal to keep track! I only wish that there was a space in each park section to stick a photo from your visit.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
This journal is stunning and I really hope there will be one for the hikes and mountain ranges in NH!
I am in the UK, but adore the natural world of the US. I have only travellled to NH so far but have my eyes on the parks of the Pacific North West, but looking through this beautiful journal, how can I stop there? Full of fantastic illustrations, facts and maps, with detailed information on each of the parks, this is a great book for your travels. I really like the colour coded map and the layout of the journal pages with concise journal prompts
Absolutely brilliant and will be buying one as soon as it is published!
Thank you to Netgalley, Quarto Publishing Group – becker & mayer!, Epic Ink and the author Linda Mohammad for this lovely ARC. My review is left voluntarily and all opinions are my own
This guide is incredibly handy and I love the spots to journal about each park. It's definitely a resource that will make you want to visit each and every park as soon as possible. I really liked that the artwork within the book are similar to the style we're accustomed to seeing associated with the national parks.
I have visited several of these already and the tips were things I weren't aware of and make me want to revisit the parks. Not having received a physical copy, I'm hoping when this comes out it's pocket sized and is something I will definitely purchase for myself.
Thank you Netgalley!
I absolutely love this "book"! It's got a journal like check-list for all the wonderful national parks in the US broken down into locations. I love the information on each of the places as well as "The Bucket List Traveler Tip(s)". The check list includes "date(s) visited, travel companion(s), weather, lodging, favorite walks/hikes/view, most exotic plants and animals spotted, memorable moments, park rating, and if you plan to return or not" which are all exactly what I would want in my travel journal. I feel like it's set up so well and will be so enjoyable to use for years to come. At the back there is even a place to write your top ten locations as well as other favorites. The pictures are so fun as well. I will definitely be purchasing this book once it is available in print!
Thank you NetGalley and Linda Mohammad for the ARC of this amazingly detailed National Parks Bucket List! I can't wait to begin using it as I love traveling!
The National Parks Bucket List is a quick guide to the 63 “big” national parks in the United States. It’s a quick one page snapshot description of the parks, organized by region. The illustrations are colorful and this book would make a beautiful memento if you were planning to visit all of the parks. There is a space for documenting your own adventures. I enjoyed the tip she gave each park to make your visit enjoyable.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book for my honest opinion.
I started visiting National Parks and using the passport to record my adventures about two years ago. "The National Parks Bucket List" book is a fantastic way to record your adventures while traveling, while also providing a couple of pointers to maximize your experience.
The illustrations included for each of the parks is gorgeous and serves as its own kind of advertising for the various locations, and the easy to check off region maps help you log which parks you have visited and which you still need to check out. The "bucket list traveler tip" provides extra insight on how long you may want to stay or other nearby parks you'll want to visit. There's even a spot on the park notes page to include your passport stamp!
Anyone who is looking forward to visiting the core set of 63 National Parks and wants a way to catalogue their experiences will enjoy this book! I only wish it had some of the other National Historic Sites, National Recreation Areas, and Scenic Trails and Rivers to go along with the parks.
4 ⭐️
What a great companion guide for those looking to explore and journal their way through the National Parks.
First, and foremost, this is a journal. It’s not a hiking guide, detailing all the trails and places to camp and such. It’s more for those writhing to track their parks and journal they experiences. The art is a cartoon style visual, which is really appealing, but it’s not photography of the parks.
The table of contents is so well organized, making it easy to find parks by area (ie: Rocky Mountains), then state, then park with page number.
The contents include some bucket list traveler tips based on first hand experiences, a checklist for all the parks you’ve visited, and prompted journaling to help preserve your memories. There’s an even a special place for your National park stamp and ⭐️ rating.
Each park features a 2-page spread. One page for high level overview with some facts and tips, and the other for journaling.
The book concludes with a recommendation of Top 10 Places to Go (which I am bumping up on my list!), a place for you to build your own Top 10 list, and several promoted sections devoted to your top: trails, campgrounds, experiences, etc.
As someone that loves scrapbooking, lists, planning, journaling and of course National Parks, this is a great keepsake! I knocked off a star because it would be nice to have real photography and more details to help plan what to do (most kid friendly, pet friendly, how long to stay for the best experience, etc.)
Thank you to NetGalley, Epic Ink, and Linda Mohammed for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!
Looking at this title left me with a deep appreciation for the National Parks system. Here is a delightful resource for anyone with plans to visit any of the parks.
An incredible amount of information is packed into this small book. In addition, there are prompts so that travelers can record their impressions and experiences in the parks that they visit.
Be sure to look at the travel tips. They are quite helpful as are the bucket list suggestions.
This title is organized by region. For each each park, there is a good amount to discover.
This journal is beautifully illustrated throughout. it would make a perfect gift for anybody with travel plans. Give this book to a child or teen and they will make use of it for many years.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for this title. All opinions are my own.
The art in this journal is wonderful, making it a beautiful souvenir for those looking to visit our nation's national parks. Each park has 1 page of art with facts and 1 page for journaling and passport stamps. This journal could replace the official Passport to Your National Parks, especially if you're looking to record information about your trip.
Ultimately, I wanted a book with more space to write about my travels and more space for stamps from national monuments, historic parks, etc. so I chose another title to purchase.
The illustrations in this book are beautiful. I love the vintage feel as well. This would be the perfect gift for someone who enjoys the National Parks and traveling. The tips are helpful, too . I appreciate the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review.
This book/journal is so cool. While reading this, people can learn about different National Parks and the beauty of each one. Then, they can write in the journal section provided about their experience at each park. It would be such a cool gift for someone who loves traveling in nature, or to buy for yourself if that applies to you.
I loved this book! I loved the pictures, the colors and the layouts. We are a family that is trying to spend more time outdoors and I think this would be a perfect gift for a family. This would also be a great gift for kids especially those involved in activities such as Scouts.
This is a really nice journal. It gives you information about each park and some tips about the park. You can star rate the parks. You have space for dates and where you stayed. What kind of plants you saw. There is a space to jot down you most enjoyable moments. It’s a very nice journal. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.
I love the premise of this book I just wish it had more space for each park. More space for planning and information gathering. Some of these places people spend more then a week there isn't nearly enough space. I am currently planning a trip to Acadia so i have been trying different planners. This is a great start for a short trip plan.
Beautiful book! I Love the overall design and the descriptions of the park. I love How the journal has spaces for type mundane like “weather” but also allows spaces for more descriptions about the trip. It definitely had me reminiscing about trips I’ve been on and planning my next a National park adventure!
Fantastic resource guide for interested National Parks travelers! It was well-organized and researched, with the author’s passion for the parks being evident. I am looking forward to purchasing it and felt very inspired after reading!
We are trying to see all the National Parks. There are lots of resources available about seeing the National Parks. This is a book to add to your collection. Not only are the parks broken down into regions, but there's also places for you to write in your own adventures. So it is a travel book along with a scrapbook. The illustrations are in the classic vintage look. Grab this book, pack a bag and hit the road to a national park today. There is so much to see and do.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for letting me review this book. This was a fun read and I liked the retro look of the pictures. There was some good tips at the end the book as well. Definitely wish this book had been around when I first started hiking in the national parks.
The national parks bucket list book expertly delivers what is promised! It’s both beautifully written and full of gorgeous artwork that I loved.
Starting off with a table of contents allowing you to easily get to the page relevant to whatever park your at makes using this book super easy, and to make it even easier it’s already pre filled with prompts on what to say for each of the parks, along with tips on how to fill it out it all together helps you get the most out of the journal.
The journal is split into geographical regions with a lovely page set with some artwork and a check list that you can check off once you have done a park (which are my favourite pages!) For each park you get more artwork along with some info and tips for your time there and at the end of the journal there’s a few pages for you to create top 10s along with some more resources to help plan your trips!
Overall this journal has everything you could ask for in a travel journal and makes for a beautiful keepsake to look back on
Beautiful layout and illustrations,
This book is for the die hards that want to chronicle and record their trips to the national parks.
It is full of tips and descriptions and information for your hikes as well as spots to record the details you want to remember.
The perfect gift for your hiking buddies!
