This is a beautiful journal for anyone who has or plans to visit our national parks. The colorful illustrations have a vintage feel which is very trendy. When my family visited some parks in recent years we used the stamp passport book, but this journal provides descriptions and history of the parks, as well as room to make notes about what you observed and your experience. This would make an excellent gift for yourself, and each family member or friend wanting a keepsake of their travels.
There is so many tips and information about exploring the national parks, will come in handy for future trips.
This was such a fun book to read with my students. We were able to take a look at all of the National Parks and envision what we could do if we visited.
I will definitely be utilizing on a personal level as well!
What a dream of a book! I feel so lucky to have seen an advance copy of this book. It is not only beautiful and well laid out, but is full of great information. I love the mix of history, personal experience and room to write in what you thought of your visit. The national parks are such a treasure and this is a fabulous book to prepare to experience them and log your visits.
Beautiful book that can be used to plan a trip, record memories from a trip, or even to daydream about visiting in the future. Perfect for fans of the parks and/or outdoor exploration. The facts provided were varied and interesting. Thank you to for providing a copy for me to read and review.
I am a self-proclaimed National Park geek! This is a beautiful companion to start integrating into my adventures. I appreciate the tips for each park as well as the historical information. The illustrations are beautiful. I could see adventurers from teens to elderly utilizing this journal.
Thank you NetGalley, Quatro Publishing Group, and author Linda Mohammad for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This a beautiful companion for anyone who would like to visit all of the national parks! I loved the illustrations, the layout to record your trip, and the bucket list facts. There are plenty of guidebooks available already so I was glad to see how simple this journal style book kept it. It has a list of best practices at the front and then the parks are broken into regions with maps and a place to check off the national park if you have visited. Each page about the individual parks includes a short description, a bucket list item, and a space to record your visit.
This would make a great gift and I'm already planning on getting one for each of my boys and my sister.
The illustrations are really wonderfully done and I can't wait to use this journal on all our adventures throughout the National Parks!
I am National Park obsessed, so I just had to grab this one. The text explains the features of the parks to you, and there are very detailed journal pages that you can leave as much or as little detail as you want. I love the journal part!!! But the best part? The illustrations!!! OH MY, they are just beautiful, darling, and make me want to go to the parks, TODAY!!! They are a little reminiscent of the park posters from way back, just fantastic.
I am going to highly recommend this book for anyone obsessed with the parks, who wants a list of all the parks so they can start visiting, a person who wants to keep up with hiking the parks, and finally, someone who wants a bucket list that looks like none other.
This is a fun journal to use for visiting any and all of the US National Parks. I love the art work that is similar in look to the drawn posters, postcards and stamps of the NPS. The book is broken into geographic regions, and each of the current 63 national parks have brief information, a paragraph description and a traveler tip. It is followed by a page for your own journaling to record dates visited, travel companions, weather, lodgings. Space is also given for listing favorite walks, hikes or views, flora and fauna seen and a place for memorable moments. You can even give a star rating and mark if you plan to return.
I have hauled my little blue NP services passport to collect stamps from the parks and national monuments I have visited. And there is even a spot for those stamps in this book. I’ve visited almost half of the national parks and am always looking for opportunities to visit more when I travel. This would be great for a family or individuals who enjoy national parks and like to track their visits. This is not a guidebook and it refers you to national park websites for current information about any of the parks in the NPS. Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for the temporary ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.
A great gift for a teen interested in exploring US National Parks, anyone who resonates with the granola girl lifestyle, or just someone who likes outdoorsy travel and keeping a bucket list.
It’s a fun colourful journal of US National Parks featuring retro flat pop art style digital graphics. The first part of the journal includes use instructions, travel tips, and summaries of each geographic region. The parks summaries are very general and minimal, which is expected for a journal (as opposed to a guide or recommendations book). The second part of the journal alternates between a page with a short blurb about each national park, and a page for logging your experience. The log page has space for your national park passport stamp and information such as dates visited, conditions, favourite things, and flora and fauna. However, I would appreciate a bit more space to write in the log pages.
I have only read the e-copy of this book, but I bet the graphics are even more beautiful in physical print.

Absolutely beautiful book. It matches beautifully with the recent branding designs of the NPS. Recently made it a goal to finish visiting all the national parks and love the idea of using this book to journal that adventure. It had great quick tips without going into too much detail about each park. It’s the perfect guide to peak your interest in the park and then give you a spot to make your own notes.
Blown away by this little journal. Unassuming on the outside, yet stunning on the inside! Full of wonderful info and tidbits, supplemented by absolutely gorgeous gouache-style nature art.
Sadly my main travelling days are behind me, else I would absolutely buy one of these journals and try my best to fill it out completely. Definitely wish something like this was around when I was younger, looks so much fun to use.
One more compliment to the artist — the art is this book really is just beautiful.
Thank you for the EArc NetGalley and Quarto. What an absolutely gorgeous journal for Our nations parks! I love the quick information on one page and the s-ace for your own experiences on the next page. My only wish is that this was out in print already as I’m headed to Yosemite soon.
This is such a handy resource if you are someone who is striving to visit all of the National Parks and document your journey along the way. The artwork throughout is beautiful, extremely vibrant and detailed. You get background information about each park on one page and on the other you have areas to notate when you visited, who you were with, what you saw on the trip, and more. The parks are broke up into nine different sections based upon geographic location. At the end, you have the opportunity to reflect back on your travels by selecting your top ten parks and your overall favorite aspects.
I would definitely recommend this journal for anyone looking to start your journey as I do believe this would be an amazing travel companion and keepsake for years to come!
I love this National Parks journal! There are so many helpful tips and tricks for each park as well as very informative facts about the park. I learned a lot of unique things about each park that I didn’t know. I love that there’s a space for a national park stamp as well as places to list your favorite hikes, plants and animals and memorable moments. The graphics were beautiful. My only critique would be that I wish there were more space for notes about each park!
Thank you NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for a e-copy of this book to review!
