Thank you NetGalley for the eARC! 1.5 ⭐️
How to begin this review….. I was disappointed to say the least. I had a hard time really enjoying this book because I honestly felt like the author didn’t have any original thoughts when it came to the story line. We have a fake fiancée trope, the entire first chapter is pretty much copy and paste from Legally Blonde, our FMC has a magic mirror (Snow White) and the biggest thing about her is that she loves books and owns a bookshop (Beauty and the Beast), 7 sisters named in alphabetical order (Bridgerton), and their house shape-shifts to accommodate a large gathering (Encanto). I’m sure there are more similarities to other stories but that’s just a few I picked out to make note on.
Something that else feels very unoriginal? A Fae King. What’s his name you may ask? Feylin. Must’ve been hard to come up with that one….
Moving on to some quotes that gave me the ick:
“My girlie parts throb right on cue” gross
“He murmurs in a voice that makes my girlie parts throb” we’ve now used that description twice and the first time was too many.
“Her voice tender but loaded with worry like a baked potato from Cracker Barrel” okay?
“Even in death, Nana’s got serious drip” …..?
2 things I’ll mention that were strange and were just laughable at this point - guard books. Like guard dogs. But their books. I think it was supposed to be serious but I was just laughing. And then instead of brooms, the witches ride cast iron skillets. So. Moving on.
2 days after Feylin destroys her literal entire family’s livelihood, she just decided to forgive him because her sister said he did it because he loves her. This was so ridiculous and unrealistic. Everything was crammed in at the end. This book could’ve been much longer, but thank goodness it wasn’t.
How the author decided to go about writing the ending of their joining was disgusting and in my opinion could’ve been done very differently. I probably would’ve stopped reading at this point, but I was 77% of the way in and just wanted to see how it ended at that point.
And lastly, something that won’t bother some people, but others may feel this way too - I don’t like when fantasy books are set in a normal, already existing world. Basically this story takes place near Nashville. When I read fantasy, I want to be able to fully imagine a made up world that doesn’t already exist.
Needless to say, I didn’t like this book and I’m not going to recommend it to anyone else.
I was given access to this arc to read thanks to NetGalley. A fun romantasy Great read. Would read more by this author.
This really wasn't for me and I DNF'd it.
Honestly I'm a bit baffled as to why past me requested this book (unless it was a netgalley glitch??) as I categorically cannot stand Fae books yet here it is, on my kindle and in my netgalley shelf to review.
So I gave it a go in the hopes it was a sign from the universe that this would be the fae book I liked... but it was not.
Sorry.
This was a cute, cozy, enemies-to-lovers romcom centering around a witch at a bookstore. I loved the regency setting look forward to checking out the rest of the books in the series!
Thank you so much to the publisher and to NetGalley for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review.
I'll be immediately interested in anything enemies-to-lovers, but throw in some fae mystery and I'm all in! This is a great read (if perhaps not the most unique or memorable) -- the build up is great, but the last half of the book and the will-they-won't they drama was my favourite bit.
This book was just the sweetest. It has everything you need. It’s just one of those books that make you happy. Addison is sweet and optimistic despite not having magic. When her Gran dies and things go bad to worse she still puts on a brave face. That is when she’s not piling on the shoes of the gotten man she has ever laid eyes on. Feylin is angry and stubborn and holding a grudge on a certain family in town. Feylin and Addy have an instant connection though both try and deny it. This book has a sweet romance, hidden secrets and lots of sexual tension. I can’t wait to read more from this series!
Funny and interesting and I was so invested in the story! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book.

This was a cute rom com read and I cannot wait for more books from this author I loved the writing and the plot and it kept me glued to the book I didn’t want it to end
This was such a cute witchy enemies to lovers! If you like cozy and magical books with a healthy dose of fake dating, this one's for you!
Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me to read an ARC of this book.
Very refreshing to read a romance where there is no harassment or abuse between the two main characters. Absolutely adored watching Addison become her own person and find her magic. Enjoyed the bit of mystery on what happened at the book store and how the characters connected with the incident. Thank you for a fun and light hearted read!
If this isn’t true love I don’t know what is ❤️ This was really cute 🥰 excited to see what happens in the next book
Addison is a witch who has trouble with her magic, she is an expert at knowing which book is best for the reader. When Addison is told she must marry to restore the magic of her family she reluctantly attends a ball to find a match. While escaping the ball she meets Feylin the king of the fae with a grudge against her family. When an ancient magic binds the two together they decide to fake an engagement. With so many secrets, false friends and growing feelings will the two make a match or lose each other forever. The beginning of this book is excellent, sets the scene, great meet cute brooding fae lead and likeable book loving female lead. The fake dating is cute and the couple have chemistry. There are some scenes/plot points that may be problematic for some readers at the end of the book. Feylin does something very mean and is forgiven very quickly and the method that the joining is broken doesn’t sit well. I suggest checking the other reviews with spoilers if you think these points may bother you.
I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book. All opinions are mine.
Right off the bat, the cover of this book draws you in with promise of a magical and beautiful world. Taking that and the synopsis of this book into account, I was prepared to find my next favorite read, and while I did enjoy reading this book, some of it fell a little flat for me. I thought the pacing of this book was a little slow at times and I found it hard to connect with some of the characters. Although that's just personal preferences, they did contribute directly to my rating and overall opinion of the book. While I thought the plot to be unique and interesting, and I would still recommend this book, I don't think it was the right fit for me.
The moment I saw the title and cover design of this book, I was immediately drawn in. As a fan of books about fae, I couldn't resist picking it up. I found the main characters incredibly well-developed, and their dynamic was captivating. The author's intricate world-building skills transported me to a mesmerizing realm where I could easily lose myself. I absolutely adored the intense, forced closeness, the captivating shift from enemies to lovers, the web of betrayals and secrets, the palpable tension between the two main characters, the enchanting touch of magic, and the beautifully slow-burning romance. Overall, I absolutely loved this book! It was so much fun and the magic and romance in it had me completely hooked.
Love Always, Catherine

A laugh out loud funny story. Have you ever wondered if a witch and a member of the fae could fall in love? This book answers that question and more. There is an age gap between the main characters. Lovers of Bridgerton will also love the facets of the witches' ball. This is the first book of the series, as it will draw you in and you will wait with bated breath for the next installment.
If this was supposed to be parodic, it failed. It was cringe and gave more second-hand embarrassment than anything else. Once again, I wished authors would stop pitching their books as "Bridgerton" and "Pride and Prejudice" when what they mean is regency. They don't understand what's makes the appeal of the aforementioned books and fail to accurately describe their work. On top of that, this was just bad: the main character (what's her name?) was stupid and more annoying than a mosquito trapped with you at night. She was embarrassing and I just wanted to slap her.
thank you to netgalley for the advanced reading copy. I really enjoyed this and will be getting copies for my shop.
I loved the sound of this book from the description and the book really lived up to expectations. It was a cosy enjoyable fantasy romance.
I really enjoyed reading about both main characters and the chemistry they had.
The writing also kept me engaged and wanting to read on. I’d definitely recommend giving this book a try if the description intrigues you.

FINALLY! The perfect ending to one of the most enjoyable Fae books I’ve read in my current #faeera🙌🏽
The Amazing Amy gives us two exciting main characters (and a hilarious ensemble of others) who take us on a romantical, witchy-fae literary journey.
I absolutely loved this fantasy Bridgerton-esque book and hope there are more installments to come for the Thornrose sisters and the small town of Castleview.
You seriously had me at “magical bookshop” and “book lover MC” 🫶🏽
Do you know how long I’ve waited for a well written ending which could meet my outlandish expectations and, not to mention, a five star read?
Thank you Net Galley and the Publisher for a copy of this book to review.
This was such a fun, quick read. The perfect kind of cosy romance, fantasy book. I just utterly fell in love with the characters, it was great learning about them through the story and their grumpy/sunshine nature just matched each other so well. The magical plot was also every enjoyable and the world building felt real, as if the reader could actually be there.
Overall a really fun read, that I do highly recommend.
