Alisha Thompson is a sex addict, and she's not quiet about it. She's made her living in adult entertainment and it has been quite lucrative for her. But, when her husband is found stabbed to death and she's standing over him covered in his blood and holding the murder weapon, there was really no where for her to go but prison.

Awaiting trial for Dylan's murder, Alisha has very little to do but think back over her life and the time they spent together. She knows she didn't kill Dylan, but the odds are decidedly stacked against her.

The idea that the FMC is a sex worker, but isn't (really) shamed for it was refreshing. Sex work is just that, work. Sex additiction is also a very real thing, and it was interesting to see how the daughter of an addict followed in her mothers footsteps but without resorting to drugs or alcohol. Alisha is a very thoroughly thought out, deeply flawed character. While I don't agree with a lot of her actions, I can understand why she made them.

The first person narration was jarring. It is not often a tactic taken in full novels, so it took some getting used to. Getting to see the other side of the scene (so to speak) from Dylan's POV also leant some depth to the plot.

While the ending wasn't the most predictable, it did follow a fairly common pattern with thrillers. That bummed me out a little, but overall it was a pretty decent, fast read.

Eyrn Jaysen knows how to write a thriller and will not disappoint you with her new book and series. A Killerโ€™s Tears is a uniquely written scandalous steamy thriller that will knock your socks off! Told in dual perspectives, this is a fast paced sizzling story that will not stop until the very last page. It is filled with sex, murder, lies, deception, seductions and suspicious twist and turns that will leave your head spinning! Jaydenโ€™s descriptions and wordings are very vivid and graphic!! They will make you blush, look around and wonder if anyone knows what you are reading and yet you will be addicted to every word on each and every page!!! You will have a hard time picking your jaw off the floor!!! This book is compelling and deceptive and leaves you wanting more!

Thank you Eryn Jaysen for an advanced copy of this spicey, provocative story! It is an honor to be part of your Street Team.

Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for this ARC of โ€˜A Killerโ€™s Tearsโ€™ by Eryn Jaysen.

I finished this within a few hours. I was so hooked! I adore spice in thrillers! So that was a pleasant surprise. I also loved the multiple POVs from different characters! Still a little speechless if Iโ€™m honest but cannot wait to read the rest of the series when it comes out!

"A Killer's Tears" by Eryn Jaysen was something I requested on a whim and wow! I'm so glad I did.

Alisha is a self-proclaimed sex addict turned webcam girl. She came from less than nothing and did okay for herself. Then one day, fate strikes and her soulmate walks right into her life.

The thing is....you meet her at the end of the story...when she's awaiting trial for her husband's murder. Did she do it?

WOW. I really got sucked right into this book. Alisha says it herself - you'll love her or hate her or love to hate her. But she won't apologize for being herself. I absolutely loved her voice. She was sarcastic and witty and really just got me right into her story. I didn't have any guesses as to what happened and let her take me for the ride -- so glad I did.

This book came out two weeks ago and I suggest you give it a shot! I think you'll be as intrigued as I was.

P.S. The only reason I knocked this down a star is because I was mad as hell at the ending hahaha

Big thanks to Victory Editing for the ARC!

The book is set in two POVs and both are First-Person Narrator.
Alisha is a s3x addict who took this to her advantage and profit from it by being a webcam girl.
Her husband Dylan gets murdered, and Alisha is found standing next to her dead husband and holding the murder weapon.
We get insight into Alishaโ€™s and Dylanโ€™s past, their minds, and thoughts, all throughout the events that may or may not have led to Dylanโ€™s death.
The main question you will be wondering is if Alisha really did kill her husband.

I really enjoyed this book and even read it in one go. Even though First-Person Narration is often difficult for me to get into and like, this one made it really easy.
Alisha is also addressing the reader from time to time and even says in the beginning that weโ€™re probably going to hate her as sheโ€™s not a really likeable person.
But you know what? I actually love her, I think sheโ€™s great.

OMG this cover! This is what pulled me in.

alisha is a sex addict who entertains all clients through webcam and she had a very rough upbringing which brought her to this occupation. With her being a sex addict by webcam she feels this is how she has control of her life.

When her husband is murdered and she becomes the main suspect and they find her with the knife is she the one that committed this crime?

This has different POV which i loved and totally has you hooked from the beginning. The character build is awesome and the story is very well written. I will def recommend this author as well as this book. It will not disappoint and you will not be sorry you read it.

Thanks NetGalley i loved this book.

"My name is Alisha Renee Thompson, inmate number 090285, and I am awaiting trial for the premeditated murder of my husband. Allegedly, of course." Hook, like & sinker.

Brace yourself, because "A Killer's Tears" is like a rollercoaster dipped in hot sauceโ€”SPICY. This debut novel had me glued to the pages like my life depended on it, and let me tell you, it's unputdownable.

First off, the character development is excellent. You get to know these people on a deep level, flaws and all. The mystery element keeps you guessing, and the peek into prison life is like a wild tour you never knew you needed. But the real star? The portrayal of a female sex addict. It's like the author took a taboo topic, slapped it on the table, and said, "Let's talk about this." Props for tackling something so real and raw.

Now, onto the not-so-spicy bits. It does get a tad predictable, and the plot feels like it's scratching the surface when I wanted to dive deep. It's like ordering spicy wings and getting mildโ€”it's good, but you crave that extra kick.

But here's the kicker: it's a debut novel! I had to double-check because, seriously, this feels like the work of a seasoned author. I'm shook, and I'd be lying if I said I haven't already added the next books in the trilogy to my TBR.

If you're into OITNB and spicy thrillers, grab "A Killer's Tears." It's a wild ride, a bit like tossing hot peppers into your reading routine. Sure, it might make you sweat a bit, but damn, it's worth it. For a first-timer, this author is coming in hot, and I can't wait to see what else they've got up their sleeve.

Thank you to NetGalley and Eryn Jaysen for providing me with an ARC.

Yโ€™allโ€ฆ

I had the worst dream everโ€ฆ

My eyebrows were shaved off . I woke up in complete panic, screaming at my husband โ€œwhere are my eyebrows!!!!!!โ€ Stunned as all heck, he replied โ€œon your face?โ€

The trauma was real

Any, who!

What happens when our nightmares became our reality?

A Killers Tears

I donโ€™t know about you but if put in a situation like this MC, Iโ€™m not sure I would survive .

This book scared the bejesus out of me and had me holding my breath the entire time. I seriously felt as though I hydroplaned out of my body and was thrust into psychological chaos (I loved every minute of it)

The amount of angst this book packs will have you sweatingโ€ฆ the ending? Ooooofaaa! Thereโ€™s no way youโ€™ll see this one coming.

Check out this teaser :

Life has never been easy for the strikingly beautiful Alisha Thompson.

As an admitted sex addict and adult webcam performer, Alishaโ€™s highly troubled pastโ€”a childhood riddled with abandonment and neglect thatโ€™s left her nearly void of emotionsโ€”comes back to haunt her. When her husband, Dylan, ends up dead, sheโ€™s found wide-eyed in the corner of the room, the murder weapon tightly gripped in her hand.

And covered in blood.

The evidence against her is compelling. Now incarcerated, she awaits trial for the brutal murder, and everyoneโ€”including her high-stakes attorneyโ€”seems to doubt her innocence.

The Minnesota case takes the media by storm, and as a lifelong loner, Alisha knows she has no one to turn to. Her life suspended, she spends the long days in prison keeping the other inmates at arm's length, desperate to evade a life sentence.

But prison brings its own challenges.

And when an unexpected face from her past shows up in the courtroom, will Alisha be out for justice? Or revenge?

While this book is unlike my typical read, I did enjoy the change of pace and loved the romance and spice woven throughout. It is so well written and the dual POV was really well done, but what took this from a 4 star to a 5 star for me was the amount of emotion it evoked. I felt truly heartbroken at times and enraged at others. I canโ€™t wait to see how Jaysen continues the series!

๐‘จ ๐‘ฒ๐’Š๐’๐’๐’†๐’“โ€™๐’” ๐‘ป๐’†๐’‚๐’“๐’” is a psychological thriller with plenty of spice, mystery and murder blended just right for a killer concoction! The main character is Alisha, a sex addict, who has led a turbulent childhood but finally finds passion in doing sex work. Due to the nature of her job and her past, Alisha has no friends but finds true love in Dylan, until he is gruesomely murderedโ€ฆand Alisha is the prime and only suspect.

Alisha is the narrator throughout the book and, as the reader, we learn Dylan comes with secrets which upsets Alisha and causes a lot of chaos on the day leading to his death. I couldnโ€™t turn the pages fast enough to find out did she do it or didnโ€™t she. Iโ€™m also extremely grateful that the book didnโ€™t end as a cliffhanger knowing fully well it was book 1 in the Collateral Damage Series trilogy!

Alisha is a self-confessed sex addict and entertains her clients by webcam, she had a hard upbringing, and her psychologist believes that the way she chooses to make an income is due to this. Alishaโ€™s version is that she just loves sex, and it is the only thing in her life that she feels she can control.
Then her husband is murdered and of course she becomes a main suspect after being found at the scene with the knife in her hand, but was it her that committed the crime?
This is not normally the kind of book I would read but I decided to choose something different, and yes it definitely was, I am glad I did as I thoroughly enjoyed it and read the whole book in one sitting. It is a quick read. Written by different POVโ€™s I was totally hooked on the story. Characters are not all likeable but that is just the way I like it as they do add something extra to the story. I donโ€™t really want to tell you too much more about the plot as it may give the game away, I think you just need to pick this one up and give it a try. I doubt you will be disappointed, apparently it is book 1 of a trilogy and if so, I will be reading the other books for sure.
Thank you to Netgalley the author and publisher for an advanced copy, all opinions are my own.

Alisha Thompson is a sex addict and webcam performer on trial for murdering her husband. This story is told primarily from the perspectives of Alisha and her husband Dylan along with a "surprise" third perspective towards the end. Alisha had a grim childhood and had no friends or normal relationships except for an elderly neighbor who looked after her. I read many genres including some erotica and although everything in this book is about sex in some way, it still manages to be completely unsexy and grim. The premise sounds exciting but the execution falls flat. There are no good guys or happy endings to be found. Alisha was a one dimensional character and I found it hard to sympathize with her. Apparently this book is the first in a series so hopefully there will be more character development in later installments but I wasn't invested enough to read any more. #AKillersTears #NetGalley

WOW! A Killer's Tears is a five star for me! I could not turn the pages fast enough! This book kept me up and wanting more! A spicy thriller that will live in your head for some time even after you finish reading! I love every bit of Alisha and I hope we get more of her in the other books. The way Eryn Jaysen wrote this book is just beautiful. Highly recommend!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this read. This book was quite good and compared very well to the show Orange is the new Black. I like it from the first page and it kept getting better.

This book!!!!

Absolutely captivating.

You will not drop it until you are done, it's a very easy read and the narration flows from one POV to the other, presenting you with a full story.

I almost said the story was predictable until the final twist that pieced together the entire plot ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

You won't see it coming and you will love it.
I absolutely recommend it if you love psychological thrillers with unexpected twists and turns.

There are also very steamy scenes ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ so watch yourself ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰

I can't wait for the sequel and hopefully I get an ARC ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž

Wonderfully developed cast of characters and a highly addictive story!
Totally looking forward to rereading this before the next book comes out.
Not only is she continuing this sultry (and totally fucked up) story, but she is doing it in not 1, but 2 more books.
Yup. It's a trilogy.
Hallelujah!

Thank you to Netgalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. This book publishes on 1/30/24!

This is unlike any thriller novel Iโ€™ve read! This is the first book in a trilogy as of right now, and I will definitely be reading the others. This book has dual POVs with one being that of the victim in the story, which is a fresh viewpoint. This thriller also has some serious spice to it, which is not something typically seen in this genre. This makes the book stand out in a league of its own. Definitely recommend giving it a read!
