I wanted to love this one, but I felt that it was poorly written. Maybe with a better narrator, it would be more palatable. As it is, it's abysmal.
Not a bad story, but not one that is going to keep up reading until 3am because you need to know what's next.
Book 14 in a series (no idea when I requested that) but I read it as a standalone no problem. Perhaps there was more character development in other books but it was okay without it.
Told in dual timelines, it was pretty obvious what happened early on. The severity of things was not evident until the victims' father is introduced, but the rest was as clear as day which made the story less exciting.
Narrator was good, no complaints
Thank you to NetGalley and the author for my advance copy of this audiobook
This is what we know:
Rachel Baker, a mother of three, vanished one Monday morning after dropping off her children at daycare. Despite her car being discovered on the roadside, there's no sign of her anywhere.
FBI Agent Eva Rae Thomas finds herself thrust into the midst of this case while renovating her home with her boyfriend, Detective Matt Miller. But since she has a personal connection to Rachel she takes the lead in the investigation, determined to locate her friend and fellow mother.
However, when Rachel's lifeless body is discovered in a storage unit, and Eva Rae delves deeper into the case, she realizes that this perpetrator is particularly merciless and resolute in remaining undetected.
Like all the Eva-Rae-Thomas-stories this one not only concentrates on the victims but also on Eva's life, what I always loved about these books!
Rebecca Cade is a pleasure to listen to and I would like to
thank #NetGalley #Dreamscape Select for this audiobook
Till Death Do Us Part (Eva Rae Thomas Mystery #14) was a great read by Willow Rose. Rachel Baker is a devoted mother of three. She disappeared one Monday morning after dropping her children off at daycare. They found her car on the side of the road with no trace of her anywhere. While investigating they found out she was plannng to leave her husband. They question if her husband killed her because she wanted to leave or if her sister helped her disappear. FBI Agent Eva Rae Thomas is in the middle of renovating her house with her boyfriend Detective Matt Miller. She is called in to assist with the case and she knows Rachel. their children are best friends and she will do whatever she can to find Rachel. Unfortunately Rachel's body turns up in a storage unti and she is determined to find the killer. While this is happening, the husband and mother-in-law fight over the children. Things turn ugly as secrets are gushing out. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.
A twisted tale of how a wife's suspicious disappearance leads to a multitude of questions that need answering. The disturbing results lead closer to home than expected
Very fast paced and suspenseful with a lot of possible suspects that kept me guessing how it would go til the very end! This is my first time reading this series but I understand it can be read as a stand alone. Thank you to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for a chance to read and review this book in exchange for an honest review.
This review is hard for me, I did enjoy the story line. Ending was great. The only bad thing I have to say about this book, is that I wish I would have read a physical copy. The auto book was very confusing, and hard to follow along. The story went back and forth between characters, but at the beginning of the chapter never said who's story was being told. So I had to figure out on each chapter, who's story it was. I'm hoping the physical copy helps readers to know. Other than that, the book itself was a great read.
While the book's premise held immense potential, it regrettably fell short of the heightened intrigue promised in the publisher's blurb.
Was it the uneven pacing and superficial characterizations that contributed to this disappointment? Or perhaps it was the contrived and foreseeable storyline that failed to strike a chord with me? Most likely, the issue stemmed from the fact that this constituted the fourteenth instalment in a series. Having not read the preceding books, I lacked the necessary background to fully appreciate this instalment. I opted for the audiobook version narrated by Rebecca Cade. While the narration proved good, it didn't quite reach the level of greatness.
This is the first book I have read by Willow Rose and this will not be the last. Rachel and her husband drop their kids off to school and are both supposed to go to work. Rachel never shows and her mom is worried when she won't text back. FBI Agent Eva knows Rachel and their kids are friends. She has this feeling that she wouldn't willing leave her children. Rachel's mom automatically suspects her son-in-law because they were having problems. He in turn keeps his children from seeing her. As you delve into this book and think that you know who does what, you question yourself. This is a fast paced thriller that leaves you surprised in the end. I love when an author makes leaves you in suspense and the ending will leave you feeling a lot of ways. I enjoyed this book and will be going back and reading more from Willow Rose.
Thank you NetGalley and BUOY Media for allowing me to preview this amazing audiobook! I will be recommending for purchase at my library.
This is book #14 in the "Eva Rae Thomas Mystery" series. While preferred to read the other 13 in the series beforehand I do belive you can read this book without doing so and follow along just fine. The synopsis is very intriguing but the book fell a bit flat for my personal taste. Some thoughts:
*I did enjoy that it was told in the past and present. It helped put together the pieces in a more smooth manner and added flare to the mystery.
*John is just a suspicious guy all around. While he was an unlikable character he was written well.
*It became pretty predictable quickly. While not a huge deal breaker in a detective novel, the synopsis made it seem like there would be a lot more twists.
*It was also repetitive.
*The pacing was all over the place.
Overall not the book for me. However fans of detective mysteries would potentially enjoy.
Many thanks to Netgalley, Buoy Media Llc and Willow Rose for a copy of the book. All opinions are of my own.
I always enjoy Willow Rose's books. This one moved quickly and kept me focused. I love the Eva/Matt dynamic and their domestic life added some spice to the story. Willow Rose has the gift of creating believable characters and situations. The narrator had a pleasing voice, I look forward to reading more books by Willow Rose.
This book definitely kept me guessing the whole time. My first, and not last book by Willow Rose. Easy read that kept me entertained the whole way through. Don’t miss this one! Thanks to NetGalley for the early copy.
This is my first book I’ve read out of the series, and that being said I didn’t even realize there are others before it! I love that it was good as a stand alone. The story itself kept me on edge the whole time! I found myself turning on the audiobook every time I was in the car, in the shower, or even while I was cooking because I just had to know what happened next! The narrator was amazing! The different accents and tones of the vocals really hit it off with the different characters. All in all, I really enjoyed how it kept me guessing and I can’t wait to get into more adventures with Eva Thomas.
I jumped right into this series with this book, which worked out ok but now I want to go back and read all the previous books! This was a great read and I absolutely did not see who the bad guy was! And I love that!! This was my 1st book by Willow Rose but will definitely not be my last! I am adding all of her books to my TBR!

OK wow this caught me off guard. So many layers in such a quick read. I did feel a slight disconnect with the characters but I think that is because I am reading book 14 as my first book.
I am always a fan of these popcorn thrillers that play out like a movie and keep me guessing. there was so much going on yet it didn't feel like too much. The pace dipped a little in the middle but picked back up in the end.
Rebecca Cade narrated this one and kept my interest and let the story speak for itself.
I would definitely pick up another by this author.
4/5 ⭐
ARC REVIEW!!! did i go into this book expecting to binge it in less than a day? no. did i do it anyway? yes absolutely!! this book took me by surprise. i am trying/starting to get back into thriller/mystery books, and this is exactly what i needed! it was a tiny bit predictable, but there was also a huge plot twist at the end that tied into everything that was just 🤯🤯...
i don't want to say too much because i don't want to spoil anything, but if you're looking for a bingeable, keep you on your toes thriller, this is definitely it!!
(i also just want to admit that this whole book was in third person and i didn't even care...that's how you know it's good!!!)
thank you to Willow Rose, NetGalley, and Dreamscape Select for this arc in exchange for my honest review!
I had high hopes for this novel, given its promising synopsis. However, it failed to live up to the hype in my opinion. To begin with, the writing style felt off, and the storyline lacked a natural pace. It all seemed very contrived. While the dual storyline was a great idea, it was executed too obviously, leaving nothing to the reader's imagination. Additionally, the story lacked any real suspense or mystery. The repeated use of the phrase "Till Death Do Us Part" in a different context felt out of place and contrived.
I'm new to Eva Rae's novels and picked this book based on positive reviews. Although it's not my favorite, I see potential in the series and would give this detective another chance.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with a complimentary advanced copy of the novel.
A doting mother of three disappears one Monday morning after dropping off her children at daycare.
Was her philandering husband involved in her mysterious disappearance?
The book's premise was ulta-compelling but, unfortunately, this book lacked the high level of intrigue that was promised in the publisher's blurb.
Was it the book's uneven pacing and shallow characterizations?
Or was it the book's contrived and predictable storyline that failed to resonate with me?
Most likely it was the fact that this was book #14 of a series and since I had not read the earlier books in the series, I simply lacked the background to appreciate the book.
I listened to the audiobook read by Rebecca Cade. The narration was good but not great.
Special thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
2.5 stars, rounded up.
This one was a slow burn for me and hard to get into. It’s part of the Eva Rae Thomas series. She’s an FBI agent attempting to solve a murder. The story is told on two timelines, and I was a little bit frustrated waiting to find out how they were going to connect. I didn’t care for the writing style as I felt some of the descriptions and adjectives were repetitive. The narrator had good pacing, but I didn’t care for her character voices. The women all sounded breathy and she dropped her voice really deep for male characters and I found it distracting. All in all, it was a decent story and might be better enjoyed in print format than audio.
Thank you @NetGalley, #WillowRose, and #DreamscapeSelect for the opportunity to listen to this audio for an honest review.
I'm typically the kind of person who gets frustrated with books and movies because I can ALWAYS see the twist coming. I'll know "who dunnit" by the middle of the book. But with Til Death Do Us Part, I had NO IDEA what was happening until the very end!
Multiple stories expertly woven throughout this book, all coming together to create a beautiful tapestry of trauma. Every character seemed to be battling their own demons, some putting up a good fight, some not fighting at all.
The audiobook narrator brought a good amount of emotion to the story. It helped it feel more immersive, and less like it was just being read at you. For this story I enjoyed having just the female narrator, I think it gave more to the story somehow.
Knowing that this is part of a detective series I was worried I would need more backstory on some of the core characters, but it absolutely stands alone. I will definitely be finding the other Eva Rae Thomas books for my bookshelf, though. And will HOPEFULLY be seeing a book 15 coming out next year!
