This is a fun, entertaining read. James and Sophie are interesting, entertaining, complex, relatable, intriguing characters. James is my new book boyfriend, yum. Sophie is a woman ahead of her time and I love that. They are a good match. I enjoyed their romance and the path they took to get to their HEA. The various secondary characters added to the fabric of the story. I love that this series is about a family and am looking forward to getting to see all of these characters in the remaining books in the series. This is a good start to a new series. The story is easy to read and get into.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Captain James was kidnapped as a child and put to work on a ship. He works his way up to Captain in the Neptune shipping company remembering little of his origins.
Sophie was sold in marriage by her father to the much older owner of Neptune shipping who teaches her how to run the business over several years. He passes away and she begins to yearn for intimacy and a child.
Sophie and James have chemistry and exciting kisses leading to further exploration and satisfaction.
James discovers he will succeed his father the Duke and he is the owner of the rival shipping firm Strong.
Misunderstandings and doubt ensue as to whose feelings are real and what the plan will be if they even go forward in their relationship.
Enjoyed the communication and character trials.
Highly recommend for a binge reading.
